Moving left/right/front/back may change the direction your character is facing, but it becomes really easy to realign when you can keep them at the center of your camera.
You can try the old trick I used to calibrate for quick scoping in MW2 days. Take a very small piece of clear tape, and put it at the center of your screen. Then take a marker and draw a dot on the tape so you can see it when looking at the screen. Whenever you're a trying to focus someone, always try to keep their character and the dot on top of eachother. Just make sure to use low adhesive tape (normal scotch tape is fine) so you don't mess up your screen when you take it off.
Once you have a good grasp, you'll begin to gain an intuition on both how people tend to move their characters and how you should move your character to be difficult for them to focus. Note that this is only applicable to 3rd person view, and ideal using the furthest zoom option. The most zoomed out setting will give you the largest field of view, and also the most room for error if an enemy is really fast at strafing.

You can see that outline through walls/obstacles and at a fairly long range too, very helpful for seeing when ball groups are going to turn and attempt to burn giving you a better chance at avoiding it. It disappears if they go into stealth/invis though, so be aware of that.
Another part is to know when to switch targets, sometimes a target just won't go down, so its best to switch it up and keep the pressure up on the group of enemies as a whole (this also helps you to identify the weakest link in a group too).
1) Tab targeting
It's not an auto hit feature, but it does give them a nice white outline, slightly bigger target box and is a base game feature.
2) Bunny hopping
People (especially ranged builds) do it for a reason. Gives you line of sight over opponents heads giving you a better angle on the player you are trying to hit.
PVP - I find myself throwing caltrops everywhere but where the enemy is.
In close combat I am swinging my mace wildly at no one. If seems like my opponents move so fast for me go get them in front of me.
My light attacks are just a drunk dance. That's three beauty of jabs.
I use an Xbox controller in my PC.
Help me aim Talos!!!!

What's Tab targeting on console?
