My point is that when I have 180cp gear and you have 160 Cp gear then what is the difference between that and me having v18 gear and you having v16 gear? Nothing.

It is exactly the same which is what I keep telling you all. You are all so excited for something that is the same which will cause the same elitist grouping issues that veteran ranks did. You will also have people with CP180 gear owning people with CP160 gear in pvp. For no-cp campaign how are they going to relate that? Good luck to them! Maybe they can all for naked or something.

So nothings changed except all your toons are now the same level. That's it.

Yep, for me at least, this is exactly the reason I'm excited about this change. I have various veteran rank alts that I gave up on grinding at some point. These will all be instantly max level, and if I make a brand new character to try other race/class combinations, I just need to level it to 50 and then I can equip those V16 monster helms and sets sitting in my bank, etc.

Gear progression is a central part of the game, of course. I imagine it will continue probably at around the same pace as before, so as long as you keep up with champion points on at least one character, all your characters will progress to the new gear level.

Yes that is pretty cool. People must just not think that just because all their tons are at level cap that all other people's level cap toons will be equal to them. Those who can use higher tier weapons will still be superior even though you are both level 50.

@NewBlacksmurf no its called a label! You and @Joy_Division seem to think that when a name is given to a certain group to IDENTIFY who I'm speaking of, then it's used in a derogatory fashion.

"CASUALS" as I've labeled them is referring to player's who moaned to ZOS about wanting to be "End game" level, but not wanting to apply themselves to achieve it. Obviously if you have already leveled 1 character to vr16 this does not apply to you.
    1. You say you are using the word "CASUALS" as a label in a non-derogatory fashion, then immediately accuse them of moaning to ZOS in the very next sentence. GG.
    2. I've never gotten a good explanation as to how grinding out 13 million xp was "applying" yourself. It's not challenging, it's just rote repetition. People here on the forums have commented about how they just drink beer, watch something on netflix and grind zombies until vr16. That's not what I consider "applying" yourself. Honestly writing a bot to do it for you would be more of a challenge.
    3. Anyone who has not leveled to v16 already is not getting automatic max-level characters, they still have to level up to 160cp or whatever. They just don't have to do it over and over and over again to try out new and interesting builds.

All the VR removal does is cater to casuals who complained about not being on equal footing with those of us who actually put in time to be maxed level. If this was extended ZOS should have had it in the game from day 1.

I don't care anymore since I've already gone through the painful process of leveling multiple characters to vr16 and their going along with it anyways, but I have to give a big "*** YOU" to ZOS for implementing this BS!

    Plan your game better!

Sorry but the comment that always bothers me is when anyone suggests that removing VR is ZOS catering to "casuals"

While that may be your opinion, that is not why VR is being removed...the removal of VR was announced ....in July 2014

The changes to VR content difficulty may be more appropriate to suggest that those changes were addressing different groups of players but this "casuals" vs others stuff is just sickening as its based on this idea that one group of players is better than another where one group should be listened to and catered to over another.

Thats a problem if you feel or think those ways.

I know how monotonous leveling a new character can be. Look at my signature!
    1. If you're implying that the term "casuals" isn't derogatory in your intent then please stop using it incorrectly as the term is used to describe or prejudge a type of player.
    2. The way you describe the use is negative....and when using that term to label a group as lazy or wanting something for nothing, it's connotation is negative.
    3. Please don't assume that I fit either of your definitions as I've not only reached VR16 but I've completed every quest for AD,EP, DC most of Crag, all of Orsinium and multiple ad, DC and EP zones on alt whether those be normal or silver and gold.
    4. I am the non-derogatory meaning of casual as I play and am not a min/maxer but do trials weekly, normal, vet dungeons as well as quests and have 50 PTS in all crafting as well as 7 alts. I started on closed beta PC in early 2013 and have played a long time now after moving to Xbox but still participate in PTS and use to sub up until recently when it became evident that ZOS could provide crowns on renewals from ESO plus

All those other assumptions.....let's wait until we get confirmation from PTS

@wayfarerx 1.so you would prefer a description of a group ONLY? And since when is the word "Moaning" derogatory?

    2. Apply in this sense means "Play the game" is that so hard to do?

    3. Your third point?.....yes they will, they just won't take as long!

All my alts are V16 so it doesn't really bother me. I'll still be doing all the zones for skyshards/skill points with them in due time. Also well over the 501 CP cap.

    From google:
    moan
    mōn/
    informal
a complaint that is perceived as trivial and not taken seriously by others.

No it's not hard at all. That's the point. Many of us "CASUALS" would just rather skip the boring grind and get to the actual hard part.

    Wut?

Why am I getting tagged? I didn't even reply to this thread because Vet ranks never should have been in the game in the first place.

As for throwing around labels, just because you don't think they aren't derogatory doesn't mean others won't take them to be so. Especially if you use words that have loaded meaning and are commonly used by others in a pejorative manner.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I'm still pretty new to this game with only 180 hours logged in but with my experience so far, I think that the game is better off without the veteran ranks :D Keeps a lot of the end game customization at champion points without having to worry about a higher level cap.

In short, hell yes, I like it :D Could focus more on CP :))

If the removal of veteran ranks makes scaling of items easier for the developers then that's a good change.

Right now, I honestly think it won't change a thing for me though (all my chars are VR16 already) unless there's a new tier of gear in which case I'll have to get a complete new set of gear for all my chars.

Utterly pointless imo. The only good thing that could come from it is if it gets rid of leveled gear so old sets could be used again, but if they just add cp requirements it's a waste of time.

Putting in the work on your Alts used to mean something. We who worked, worked hard for it.

If the 160 cp we'll be receiving was cast upon each character that we'd maxed I'd be okay with it. Nevertheless, what comes, comes.

I shall not bother leveling up my last two characters to vet 16.

It wont make that big of a difference for me. I am quite able to adapt. I am liking that it will keep us from having to grind xp to get the "new and improved sets". I can focus on my lower characters not having to worry about the grind again. However, as I said, it really does not make that big of a difference to me.

In my opinion the game doesn't have a replay value when it's about levelling. Unlike games like GW2 and SWTOR where you have different origin stories that help make the experience different everytime, any ESO character you make its the soul shriven with same quests. If you did it once you should have any alts maxed level.

All i'm hoping is that the current max level gear (v16) will be automatically converted to max CP level gear (501?) as that would mean a LOT of my time and money would be wasted.
