Likewise, I didn't like any of the glass armor in the previous games - but then I generally disliked all of the armors in Morrowind (even though they were probably the most original and unique).
I know, I know ... heresy and all that ... so settle down. Loved the game, hated the graphics. I think I ended up wearing the Nordic ring mail over a shirt for my armor the entire game.
In Skyrim, I wore Nordic steel most of the game until I got Dawnguard. I loved the glass swords ... I used a pair of those at endgame.
I don't think the armor looks terrible ... but can't you dye it green?

Weren't they supposed to add weapon and shield dying with the IC patch?

I was so excited for this style, because it is perfection itself.
And the form looks cool. But.... WHAT DID YOU DO ZENIMAX ! If the ancient founders of this style would know about this.... their graves would explode.
When I received it, it was unimproved and looked so epic. Like glass should look like.
But as I improved it, it began to look uglier and uglier. Now finally on legendary (golden), it's merely an ugly grey. Yes, it still looks pretty amazing. But
the color is dissapointing. What does this have to do with glass anymore ? I'm not putting so much effort into getting something, if the final result has nothing to do with glass anymore.
I expect the average vulcanic green glass color. But NOT this ! :
Please, for the love of Auri-El and the founders of this style and the effort people put into it: Fix this. Give it what we expect from it : GLASS LOOK.
but the armor and weapons themselves in these pics look great and i will even say awesome, but,

so we have a glass weapon, and were worried about apperance? no wonder combat sucks
Anyone got any pics of ...er..not weapons ..I mean the rest of the stuff. I'd like to see more before I judge (admittedly the weapon is a little..er..anti- climactic )
Remember the Amber armour in shivering Isles ? I was so excited and ended up looking like a hornet Perhaps it's just a texture thing..like others have said- ancient elf has some glass looking bits..
I currently have 2 out of 100 fragments...so it will be 3 years before I cam craft all glass

EDIT: Only the staff is glass style.
So.... Normal looks like Epic and Epic like Normal...
So... Perhaps the coding people got confused ???
Easy to fix...
.... just reverse the order

Another reason could be that the coding people forgot the meshes !!!
This happened a year or so ago also with Daedric Armor, if I remember correctly...
Here Epic was after release also dull grey

Textures.
Meshes are the actual geometry of an item. Textures are the visual and color data for how the item appears when rendered. If they'd forgotten the meshes, the item wouldn't render or would be stuck with a place holder, like one of the floating question mark boxes that you'll see in game rarely.
