I gotta say, I love the look.
I didn't care much for the traditional green, so I went elsewhere with it, but you can pick greens that will look very glass.
Anyway, I did my setup with 5 heavy, 1 med glove, 1 light belt, all glass and dyed if you want to take a look
I think it looks great
The actual glass material sections are dyeable, so how good or bad it looks is up to the player. I agree that the lack of dyeing reduces the beauty of the weapons... Hopefully that gets released at some point.
Lorkhan is a demon?! Noo, he is our savior and defender. I guess @Dracane you never collected sky shards as they are parts of Lorkhan body.starkerealm wrote: »starkerealm wrote: »Tamriel glass isn't Earth glass, just like Tamriel ebony isn't Earth ebony. Your chemical knowledge is irrelevant. Read up on glass armor lore (UESP will help), look at glass armor in the previous games, then you'll understand why it needs to be green. Malachite = glass in this setting. Raw glass was green in Morrowind.willymchilybily wrote: »This thread made me laugh. People saying it looks nothing like Glass armour! its not green! cause glass is green. We know Tamriel better than you Devs!
... I agree malachite is bright green from the copper oxide (CuCO3.Cu(OH)2) but isn't technically Glass. if this is truely glass armor maybe they didn't have the ability to add the oxides required to the glass back in this era in tamriels history?
don't get me wrong though i had high hopes for a tinge of green.
You see, people requested glass armor because it's one of the most iconic TES armors. Implementing a "glass" motif which looks nothing like the one people know and love was a mistake.
It's probably worth pointing out, Ebony is actually a Aedric infused obsidian in the Elder Scrolls. I think specifically infused by the blood of Lorkhan, but, the point stands, you're crafting obsidian armor.
Lorkhan cannot really be considered an Aedra. Aedra is an elvish word after all and Aedra are 'Our ancestors' Lorkhan is no ancestor. So he is no real Aedra, rather a demon.
Well, the problem there is that there are no demons in the Elder Scrolls cosmology. Extradimensional entities? Sure. Beings with godlike power? Sure. Demons? Not so much. While the word Aedra is Elven, the beings it refer to predate the language, and yes, Lorkhan is usually referred to as an Aedra, and is roughly the same class of being as Akatosh and the other divines.
Of couuurse, demons don't exists. It was my personal opinion on him like saying 'Get lost you demon!'
Even though I've heared NPCs using the word 'Demon' in The Elder Scrolls. But NPC's in TESO also use dirty and violent language, which I've never heared before in other TES games. At least I can't remember.
