Suggestion to nerf Stealth Openers

I haven't heard any argument against my original topic. So far the arguments have been as follows:

    A) This is okay because this build can do this
B ) Use magelight, umm I have nothing to say about the main topic but magelight!
    C) Don't take away one shot builds

This thread really derailed hard from the original topic. I don't think it's gamebreaking to one shot builds that they lose their stealth status the moment they push deadly shot, nor do they lose the ability to one shot. All my two-handed/duel-wield/templar non-damaging abilities already do this. Yes, including shields and magelight lol.

Rally doesn't break stealth. Magelight doesn't break stealth. Annulment doesn't break stealth. Flying Blade doesn't break stealth till it connects. Same for Wrecking Blow. I can name more, but I'd doubt you'll be willing to listen to the full list.

Snipe's deadzone removal + cast time reduction in 1.5 is the main issue here. Your changes gut builds for everyone who doesn't use snipe. Rather then going for general sweeping changes, go after the root of the problem, which is Snipe.

Magelight is ZoS' answer to stealth damage, so I really suggest you get used to it. They even stated so in an interview before PC launch (On my phone, can't go looking for it).

Insanity is the price of Knowledge. Herma-Mora and Sheogorath, this one bows before thee.

This one does not advocate for any class to be nerfed. There are far deeper underlying issues then a simple "Class Imbalance". The Champion System is the problem. Not classes.

Please read this before creating yet another nerf thread.

@DeanTheCat I'm running as a stamina sorc, so that may affect things differently, especially of you are a templar or a dk.

@Cathexis I'm a Nightblade actually. I find it more fun to hunt gankers then it is to hunt riders, so I made a build designed to hunt gankers. I'm earning a ton of AP from it. Stam Sorc... I feel your pain. I have a friend who plays Stam Sorc, and he has to put it so much effort to just be 75% of the effectiveness of other stam builds. You however, have my respect for doing what most wouldn't do. When ZoS buffs Stam Sorc eventually (Soon™), you'll have the experience needed to tear through everyone else

@Deanthecat unfortunately, the outlook for stam sorcs is grim -- the buffs were getting arent very useful (storm armor), and the coming damage nerf, bolt nerf, Dodge roll nerf, and block nerf are concerning (although hopefully only have a minor impact). Right now my hopes lie in a dark exchange that doesn't leave you vulnerable.

I've found my niche for now with a bit of gear and a group I do pretty well even when I have to fend for myself, but 1vX is still more often a boondoggle.

Removing stealth from snipe's first shot would do nothing. I couldn't care less if im using snipe and it reveals before or after a shot lands, you're still going to eat 2-5 shots and in most cases not know where it's coming from.

The answer to your thread is really simple, run magelight, not just for snipe by all stealth attacks. Snipe seems worse because without magelight you get stunned, but getting hit by 18-20k heavy attacks and wrecking blows has the same effect, you will eat dirt without magelight (not to mention ambush).

Some additional things you can do:

Get better gear (whitestreaks or run a health build)
Don't run into open areas, run in and out of objects because snipe uses LOS.
    Learn how to dismount fast
Put champ points into rediced crit and dmg mitigation

Stealth attacks are a meta part of the game, I have never died to snipe running magelight, you have to adjust your playstyle and not the other way around. The only alternative is to run a class build that can deal with snipe (there are LOTS) or run in a group.

If you're squishy, run around alone and don't run magelight, you're doing it wrong.

The numbers thing is always going to be there, but it’s more down to player skill and there are ways through ability choice to configure a group to be stronger vs. large groups of people. - BRAIN WHEELER - 2012 - LOL

@Cathexis I really hope you'll get the buffs you need to truly compete. My friend that I mentioned runs a Bow/DW light/heavy attack build, using 5x Ravager, 5x Undanted Infiltrator. 2x Night's Silence for a pair of twinned daggers and a master's bow. He does 12k heavy attacks with the bow before switching to DW to execute with Steel Tornado.

Speaking of Dark Exchange, I find it amusing that you mentioned it, because the build I'm using is mimicking the effect of Dark Exchange via the 5x Shadow + Cloak synergy.

well damage is reduced by 50% so now you will get hit for 10-15k max as opposed to 20-30k. so nerf has already happened. plus add in the suggestions above and your good. no more one shot kills.

@DeanTheCat Interesting Haha I don't want to give away my secrets but I'm running 5 oblivion 2 red mountain for stamina and damage stacking -- I just hit rank 14 so I've only upgraded my weapons so far.

Thank you for agreeing with me, I don't really care about magelight, I've known about magelight for a few months or so now, I'm not sure why everyone is stuck on magelight lol.
