Personally I will only come back for PvP when a new Vengeance campaign is on.

I do login for my tickets for 5 minutes for a scout and IC rescue mission. Haven’t been contested once so far.

This traditional event doing worse numbers than Vengeance is good for telemetry and increasing our chances to have an extra dedicated Vengeance playlist in the future

I’ve spent plenty of time in Cyrodil and have no qualms about doing PVP but repeating a stale event twice a year was already a bad idea.

To have the stale event after a weeks long fresher version with better rewards the previous month shows just how badly ZOS understands their players and their own game.

Maybe they really just didn’t care if this event flopped. No reason to give PVP’ers one more thing to be unhappy about if they did something PVE instead.

I hope this gets through to ZOS though. All these repeated events need to be refreshed. “Been there done that” is a sure death knell for any game.

I got the Give to the Poor one despite having completed it before; I'm stuck on the ToT one because I don't like playing it.

You don't need to provide video examples of generally useful skills because their use is self-evident. Nobody needs an illustration of the niche uses of invisibility, despite also being a utility skill, because it has many different uses.

They actually didn’t have to add any new campaigns this time around, cause not even Blackreach is pop locking. The main IC campaign was also pretty quiet as far as Midyear Mayhem goes.

I noticed this too, honestly this time it's gotten so bad that it doesn't feel much different from any other non-event weekend. I am not a big pvp'er overall, but I used to hop on for the extra rewards and stay up late into the night having a blast during mayhem. There were bigger battles, more things happening and ways to feel useful, and more players closer to my limited ability level. Increasingly, I just get my tickets and leave ASAP now. There's no fun to be found for someone like me. I see the same 'ol people. I'm glad for those who are having a good time, but the appeal seems to be getting more and more niche.

Your #4 point couldn't be more wrong to be honest. An overwhelming majority of balance changes done to the game throughout eso history has been done with PvE in mind. A certain part of the PvE community loves to jump the "blame PvP" bandwagon whenever something gets nerfed or adjusted, but in reality those changes have been done due to certain unintentionally or unwanted usage from PvE players (often score pushers or similar endgame groups). In few occasions sure, PvP can be blamed, but it's more of an exception than a reoccurring pattern. I personally have zero issues with ZOS not seperating PvP/PvE, and I absolutely despise the attitude that PvE should be some unchecked power creep paradise where balance should never be checked or adjusted. If anything PvE should be more frequently adjusted than PvP to avoid unnecessary powercreep that makes the game obsolete and unfun.

To adress your #4 point more, the ult changes was funny enough mainly to adress the insanely high ult regen in PvE where certain support builds would have ridiculously high uptime on certain defensive ultimates (like barrier). I've even read some threads on the forums and discord referring to a specific build even that these changes seem to adress specifically.

In recent years, I had a decent enough general dk build that I could jump into cyro/ic/bgs with it and have fun for a few hours.

This year, I don't want to adapt to subclassing for what will just be a few hours of PVP before I get completely sick of the same problems that drove me away from PVP years ago, in addition to the new problems caused by subclassing.

I don't want to sound anti-subclassing because I'm not. I've adapted to it in PVE and wouldn't want to go back to pure classes there.

But like scribing and countless other changes over the years -- like the buff to hardened ward last year -- there was little care for what the impact to PVP would be.

Also, what could be called the end game community seems extremely quiet this weekend. The trial scene seems dead. One open trial community that was EXTREMELY active this time last year is completely dead.

The more casual playerbase seems to be thriving. Random dungeons seem full of inexperienced players and the overland zones seem to be highly active with questers.

Still got rolled during PVP. Ball groups still ruining everything despite seeing a lot of people that indulged in subclassing.


Game was only worth playing during Vengeance.
