PvE folk please chime in here.
Am I correct in interpreting that the basic Crafted set Tide-Born Wildstalker actually has a stronger 5-piece bonus than the new Bahsei's Mania trial set? Tide-Born is +12% (direct damage, but that's the only type that matters nowadays) to monsters and Bahsei's at the max proc state is 10%. One is also conditional (and very annoying) versus the other is literally free with 100% uptime.
Why would this possibly be so? Nothing against Crafted sets but a Trial set should obviously be providing stronger effects than sets that one can literally buy off of the guild traders for minimal gold or else make for themselves. Otherwise it begs the question - why bother doing the trial at all?
This is more of a general gripe that sets from difficult content are generally not much better than very basic sets, which eliminates any semblance of accomplishment. If one can simply buy their way into end-game gear then what is the point of end-game gear at all?
To be clear, this isn't a "Nerf Tide-Born" request but rather some encouragement to hopefully BUFF Bahsei's and other trial sets (and Infinite Archive sets, DLC dungeons, etc.).

Unfortunately, we were recently told to turn 'em back on if we wanted to participate in the vengeance survey. Well, this is why a lot of us probably have them turned off.
Would be nice if there was a different setting for surveys and for marketing emails.

Sounds like people should be looking forward to more slop than ever due to developers not understanding what's can be done with help of AI and what's should remain hand crafted in their pursuit of having to deal less with professionals and workers that value their craft in favour of playing way less for some Asian cheap labour. It's same difference as reading magazines and cheap novels that multiply every day rather than timeless classic and specific genre stuff written by a person with deep knowledge base

If i get annoyed by the frequency of the marketing emails - so will a lot of other people - its probably not the intention of zos to have fewer people to sign up for these updates but more so it makes sense to let them know when they breach the point of annoyance.

Still EU server problems this evening

I also saw some longer load screens than normal. At one point the game froze for 5 seconds then came back after that it was ok except for audio lag.

They had explained before that they want to get rid of battlespirit with the vengeance test to eliminate a blanket layer of calculations, which would only help performance. Too many people focus on the little picture when it comes to vengeance though and keep calling for it to be stopped because of silly reasons like "they haven't recoded every skill and system in the game within a month so we should stop."
I can only dream that a vengeance split would get them to finally implement system changes to help the largescale fights perform better. Like going back to effects not stacking. Or less smart healing aoes instead of just single targets. Or hots self purging if they tick at max hp.
Not that I want to splinter off to rehash those points, but the implementation of pvp specific rules may make it easier for skill design involving pve and pvp.
