I would have liked to see a follow up about Classes in general. It did ask about each class in isolation, but not an overall feeling on the system and Subclassing.

I’ll admit it - I love the Class system. I build characters around their Classes and that gives me their while lore while making them feel unique. I desperately want more Classes so I can make a bunch more unique characters.

This is also one of the best parts of Subclassing in that you can have a new Class for the players who like to play pureclass and players who prefer to play one character with any skills they choose can also still do so via Subclassing. I’d even like to see Subclassing made more free for those players - remove the skill point penalty and allow trading all three lines and also accepting multiple lines from one parent Class.

The biggest issue is balance though. As it stands, there is no reason to play anything but Herald/Assassination in high level PvE because it is so much stronger than anything else. A lot of players really like playing the character they’ve played for 11 years so far, and to see how even the game is telling them they’re wrong because “you’re not using the right lines” or “you’re expected to Subclass” is the general feel of the system.

I understand this is an Elder Scrolls game, and that’s why I came here in the first place. But I also recognize that as an MMO, it does necessarily have to have a different setup in order to keep balance. In Skyrim, I can build whatever massively OP build I want because that doesn’t affect anyone else’s fun, but I do need to consider other people here. Balance cannot just be thrown out the window without ruining a large group of people’s fun.

I also want to say that ESO has seemed to really be on a “do everything with one character!” kick, that also makes alternate characters feel more and more irrelevant. Why bother making more alts if they all end up the same anyway. This is one of the main reasons I like keeping my characters pure since they all feel so different from one another and I can feel like they’re all important to me.

But yes, I’m begging for more Classes. I love the new character process and exploring a brand new set of skills. The announcement of Arcanist was the best time in my gameplay since I could spend so much time planning a character and building out a whole story, and the skills were so fun to explore. I want to have that excitement back again.

Oh, and please unlock the Class outfit styles though. There was no reason they should have been locked when they were, and definitely no reason now.

I struggle to understand how the team put this out and are proud of it.

I was hesitant, but then decided to buy it. One reason was that they said this was a "transitional year" to the new model and would still be rather close to the story chapter concept - so I told myself this might be the last big story expansion for some time anyway, so why not... Another reason was that they talked about finally progressing time in Tamriel and all that stuff about continuing the main story - I had, maybe naively, hoped that they would maybe look at what had been well-received during ESO's early years, and get back to that a bit. Including the writing quality, the complexity or lore, etc.

What we got in West Solstice instead was an extremely short main storyline, lore incongruencies (those two Sanguine quests...), and some weird plot holes in the main story. I didn't want to judge it before seeing the other half of the story, thinking maybe some questions will get answered there, and the story might get more interesting (as some years ago I usually found the winter story dlc more interesting than the summer one)... Let's say I've been on PTS, and it's not quite it.

Overall, what disappoints me most is probably the thought of what could have been done with the base premise of the story, and what actually had been made of it, which was quite formulaic and, sorry, boring. And of course, the chapters get smaller and smaller, no special chapter feature and no companions anymore, this time even the dolmen type locations weren't present until now that the event began. Main story took maybe about 5 to 6 hours in total, if you really took your time and listened to all dialogues. For comparison: Back in times of Morrowind and Summerset, a chapter was said to have about 30 hours of story content, plus the winter dlc was supposed to have about 15.

I'm very sceptical when it comes to next year.

This time is different. Anyone who's paying attention sees that. Have you not noticed the massive decline in content released? Did you not hear about all the cut backs and layoffs at ZOS? Seems MS sees the writing on the wall too.

This question has been asked every year since the game launched. 2 things to note. This question will be asked next year and the year after and so on. And the answers always range from less than a year to never.

I'm not sure if anything was changed during the last few weeks (months?), but I was able to complete the quest without making any changes at all (also thought about abandoning it, couldn't, so I just looked what would happen if I make no changes - it still completed).

So roleplay-wise I can consider the whole situation as some fighter type person asking me whether I have considered mixing fighting skills and giving me a bit info on that, and nothing more.

But of course, I think it should be possible to drop this quest. There's no reason it shouldn't.

While I think events like the jesters festival have gotten incredibly stale, this is probably the worst big event they have done so far

As someone who generally hates events, I like this event.

First, it helps to tune out the marketing noise.

From having tested phase 1 on PTS, I knew that it was just fetch quests plus a standard daily incursion quest. Because this has the "glorious" box system, I knew that all the good rewards will come from that single daily box. And because of the time frames involved (you can't start the last phase until U48 has hit console), I knew that this would be a long event, not the usual 2-week affair, which means slow and steady.

So, I get my 3 daily golden boxes, which takes like 15 minutes, and then carry on as if there wasn't an event. Which, for someone who doesn't like events, is perfect!

I read in this thread people saying that they're grinding multiple quests on multiple toons and that the rewards suck. Well, yea, I can see how doing that would make someone hate this event really quick. Don't do that. The reward-to-time ratio is actually really good... if you just get the golden boxes and call it a day.

The other common complaint that I hear is about having to compete with other players for kills and loot, and, yea, they should've learned by now that this can cause problems. But I've been around the game long enough that my very first thought when I saw "kill undead" was, "I wonder if the zombies in the first room of normal Crypt of Hearts 1 will work?" (yes) On normal, things die as easily as they do in the overland, so it's easy to do solo, it's your own private instance with no other players to get in the way.

So I'll do a single event "writ", pick up the quests for siege camp, vitrified souls, and a kill-and-collect quest. I'll do the siege camp, and if I complete vitrified from doing the camp, then I'm done (since vitrified shares the same golden coffer as kill-and-collect), and if I'm not done, then I'll do the kill-and-collect in a private normal dungeon instance. Literally takes less than 15 minutes per server.

Time to just let it go. ZOS has already decided what their going to do and that they're not going to tell us what that plan is. So just leave it alone. I have been reporting issues on PTS for over 11 years and not once is my ticket ever answered or acknowledged outside the standard reply... I sometimes see my feedback on the patch notes but most I never hear from again. I understand everyone is busy and you cant reply to everything but there should be some kind of community issue log we can view in game so we can see what has been raised and what has been addressed but then we are talking full transparency right.

I reported in-game that the Phase 2 boss was spawning in Phase 1 and here we are today with the same issue, just give me access to DEV and let me fix it myself
