I agree there should be some way to clear the notification without picking up the reward. I don't think it matters why players don't want it, we should have the option to skip it if we want to, without having to avoid playing during the golden pursuit or being constantly nagged to accept something we don't want.

It's literally definitionally not. 1 in 1 is instant. 1 in 4 is anywhere between 1 and infinity though the odds of it reaching infinity are ~0, it doesn't mean you get it in 4. Nor is there a difference in the reward.

Currently boss leads have a drop rate between 5% to 10%. So statistically getting it within 20, doesn't mean it won't take you 82 kills of Timershade, or 73 kills of the Voidmother.

The 25% I suggested in my OP is the last in a long line of suggestions. I've suggested dynamic drop rates, capped drop rates, leads as rewards - all ignored with zero comment.

I stand by my theory that what players miss isn't the format, but rather the slightly less terrible MMR system that could at least put sweaty players into "high MMR" with some consistency during hours when the queue was populated.

Yesterday I was doing some random dungeons for the GP. I was on my main, which can do all roles. I was a healer at the time.

Queued to a random dungeon and got Bal Sunnar.

Us supports were higher CP, while our DDs were CP200 and CP400. Nice fellas, turned out. But the tank didn't respond. No reaction. Didn't respond in group chat. Just standing there. 30k health, so probably not a real tank anyway. No idea if they even had a taunt. We wasted a couple of minutes waiting if he is going to respond or not. He didn't.

So we cleared a few trash mobs. I wrote in the chat that no worries, if the tank doesn't play I can swap to tank gear for the bosses. We were already at the bridge that leads to the house with the first boss when the tank finally wrote something. Didn't move, mind you. Just wrote a single word. "smoking" Um... ok. A bit weird to queue to a dungeon and then go for a smoke leaving the rest of us waiting for you. Especially because the queue is short for a tank.

But no movement. Nothing. Then a minute later another text. "will join at bosses" Yeah, no. What arrogance. Make us wait, then expect us to clear the path for you that you can walz in to do a bit of tanking (who am I kidding? He would have not tanked. Just parsed the boss and died on every light attack and complain in the chat "fake healer?") and then afk until the next boss?

So we voted him out and I swapped to tank gear. "Only until a real tank arrives" - spoiler: a new tank never arrived. Left a couple of heals so I can provide also healing for the DDs. Finished ez as a trio. Took a bit of time because CP in low hundreds doesn't necessarily do high dps, but we managed without wipes.

The Point

I know there's a lack of supports in this game, especially tanks. Tanks should be cherished when they decide to join with random people. But don't abuse it. Your 30k PVP build might work if you'd actually play, but don't treat other players as NPCs. If you want to be treated like a princess, play a Princess Simulator. Other players are real people.

Don't port into a dungeon and then go to have a smoke without saying anything to anyone. Of course other players are waiting, especially low CP who might really need a tank. And especially, don't then arrogantly announce that you only join at boss fights. It's a group dungeon, not a "carry a self-proclaimed VIP" dungeon.

ZOS isn't forcing you to participate in events or pursuits, the Tome system is specifically designed to have all season long to complete the majority of the challenges.

There's a lot of things to complain about, providing content for active players isn't one of them.

ESO is an MMO, which means they want you to have lots to do. Nothing to do means dead game. It’s up to us to not make it a job.

If you are not having fun managing your guild and it leaves you no time for anything else and all of your officers are leaving and nobody from the guild is pitching in… then maybe consider folding the guild. I think one of the underlying issues with golden pursuits is that the game makes them hard to ignore.

There is a timer, the objectives keep auto pinning them in your quest tracker, its on the announcement screen.

Even once you get them done they are still annoying.

Actually, multiclassing was and has been one of the most requested features over the life of this 10+ year old game.

I feel you, OP. I do. Honestly, I'm starting to find the game way too overstimulating. There's a constant stream of things I have to "shoo" away because they're demanding my attention. I would rather this game feel like a single player game, which have so much less stimulation and way more immersion.

From a business perspective, I get it though. There has to be some incentive to play the game. So, I don't fault them for giving us that, but it does seem overwhelming at times.

From my perspective though, I wouldn't mind less events overall. My preference would be just having permanent reward systems that we all eventually work towards, rather than so much FOMO. Like, why can't earn Trade Bars through something like IA or dungeons?
