Thank you very much. I was not aware getting an achievement would improve the odds, has this always been something that has happened in previous DLCs and zones too?
So, the short answer is it shouldn't be. That is part of the bug.
The longer answer is there are sometimes instances where having a certain achievement slightly increases the drop rate of a specific item. These sometimes appear in the monthly Crown Store Showcase articles. For example, this one from the November article:
Nerien'eth Arms Pack—November 3, 2025, to November 10, 2025. This is an ESO Plus discount item. The matching mask page has a chance to drop from the final Dungeon Boss in Crypt of Hearts II. The matching shoulder page can be purchased directly from Pledge Master Glirion the Redbeard’s store for 50 Undaunted Keys, or pulled randomly from Glirion’s Mystery Coffer for 1 Undaunted Key. Completion of the Veteran Achievement “The Blade's Edge” will slightly increase the drop percentage for both items.
The Daedric Anvil lead had some of those achievement checks added, when it should not have. The drop rate is also lower than intended. So for now, getting the "Aide/Agent/Specialist About Solstice" achievements will increase your odds. When this item is fixed, those achievement checks will be removed and the drop rate increased overall.

I’m very thankful and appreciative of the developers for addressing this issue.
However, please underline one thing: do not plan to bring back the Writhing Wall event, because doing so would remove the sense of exclusivity from it being a one-time event.
Instead, consider creating a similar event in the future—either an improved version or a “lite” version of the Writhing Wall event—as a recurring event. It could even become a daily activity or a new game mode, such as two teams of 12–24 players racing to complete tasks similar to those in the Writhing Wall event.
Hey @amuridee, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We wanted to provide some clarity on your first point. We do not plan on bringing back the Writhing Wall event. The only part we are bringing back early next year is just the Writhing Fortress, to give those who tried to run it and ran into issues another chance to experience it.

So crossplay is a priority. As we have noted, we are actively exploring everything that crossplay would touch. Because all of that is additional dev work. We cannot stress this enough, this is a massive undertaking that requires meticulous investigation to make sure we factor in every aspect of ESO. Additionally we will need to building in time to either build or overhaul systems to make sure it works with crossplay without causing a ton of issues. And for an 11 yr old game that didn't have crossplay in mind when it was being build (since crossplay was not an industry feature yet) we would rather take the time to do this right.
I can assure you, if this was a matter of just flipping some switches to get crossplay online, we would have done that a long time ago. We are just as eager to get crossplay online so that you can play with anyone regardless of platform choice. But the time we are taking for crossplay is needed.

You can take your time doing the Solstice zone story quests. We designed and wrote the main story in such a way that there is no loss in continuity if you do them after the event ends.

Thank you to everyone who has reported this, and for your patience while we looked into it. We have confirmed that the Daedric Anvil lead drop rate from Ghishzor isn't as high as we originally intended and this is a bug. It will be fixed in a future incremental patch in January, and we are adding this to the known issues list for Update 48. In the meantime, if you would like to improve your chances at getting the lead to drop, then completing the "Aide/Agent/Specialist About Solstice" achievements will increase your odds.

For the Xul-Kutama delve resurrection bug, we've done some additional testing on the live server today and confirmed that the hotfix did work and is applying to any new delve instances that spin up. There may be rare edge cases where older Xul-Kutama delve instances that were up before the hotfix was applied still have the bug. If you run into one of these edge cases, we recommend queuing for a dungeon or Cyrodiil, or submitting a ticket with Customer Support to move your character.

To clarify, we are only planning on bringing back the Writhing Fortress. We've seen feedback that players generally like it and think it's cool, and just wish it were working better and bug free. So that is the piece we plan to bring back.
