While I'm not particularly into flamboyant or flowery outfit styles myself, I still enjoy seeing the creativity players come up with when they mix'n'match various costumes, skins and personalities to personalise their characters.

And even with my more subdued tastes, I still bought into those Carnival crates big time and enjoy adding to the chaos with my dancing Molag Bal tank :-P

I'd much rather have all the options available for us to customise our characters, than be forced into a very narrow range of conservative looking setups. But that said, I absolutely respect and understand the OP's viewpoint in this thread, and those others who find it all distracting/annoying. Respect, friends.

Wanted to follow up here. The goal is always to provided a balance of more grounded yet cool items and more fun/ fantastical items as well.

We have taken note and shared feedback when some items may push that balance a bit far, like our 4-sword horse friend. (I find this mount fun, but totally understand it can be super jarring.)

However, the item selections are meant to give you the player tools to be creative and have fun. Sometimes player choice will lead to a dancing Molag Bal, as jarring as that can be. But between the Crown Store items, in-game items and in-game event items, there are plenty of choices to make a more grounded experience for yourself and for others if they so choose. Some may go down the route of Sheogorath for a more maddening experience, but they should have the option to do so as well.

All that being said, happy to take any additional feedback to the team for their consideration. Is there a style or kind of cosmetic we have made in the past that you would like us to lean more into?

I'm having difficulty staying engaged with this after almost 10 years. I would've been more interested in balancing scribing and adding a new class than this debacle. With Warden, Necro, and Arcanist all being amalgamations of the other classes, what content could they possibly offer us in the future that doesn't feel recycled?

If you WANT to do 'serious high-end competitive gameplay' then you do what you need to min max (put simply).

If you don't want to do THAT then you don't want to do 'serious high-end competitive gameplay.'

You can do all trials, even trifectas - all with a lot of builds/classes. You just won't be pushing scores on a leaderboard that no one cares about unless they're on it or want to be.

This is coming from someone who was within the top 3/5/10 years back.

You can still do all content, get all achs etc. Just maybe not in any tippy tip guild but if you wanted to do that, you wouldn't be bothered by this.

Your character is absolutely not obsolete.

Of course players still cheat because they didn't really change anything! The kind of changes players imagine happened simply aren't possible without them being extremely obvious to every kind of player.

Furthermore, changes of that scope would have required rigorous testing. And had they pulled them off so seamlessly, they would have no reason not celebrate them.

The ESO server trusts the client about the same things it always has. This has been shown when certain cheats re-emerge, even without actual memory hacking. Like set-based glitching. The client tells the server certain things about the character and the server flat-out believes it. It shows those things aren't being tracked server side. Not only were these not moved server-side, it shows the server or client don't even perform the basic low cost sanity checks they should.

The ESO forums... where players will decry anti-cheat and anti-ddos mitigations. Those are both good things. We should wish it had better anticheat.
