Re: How necessary are player character backstories to you? (anonymous poll)
Some more than others, but all my characters have back stories.
Heck my latest Inventory Mule is named Jake Jabs. He holds a bunch of excess furniture. He is or was a famous furniture chain owner of American Furniture Warehouse. He was on ads all the time in Colorado.
There is my Survey Farmer named Fumnog, cousin to Bumnog a character in some quests.
One of other Mules is Carry Burdens who inspired a Companion NPCs life purpose in Skyrim.
Just to name a few.

In ESO, not necessary at all. None of my characters have a backstory. In some other games (not all), I like to have one. The SP Elder Scroll games, for example. I like to come up with a story for why my character is in prison, or in Skyrim, why they were crossing the border.

This isn't true. I got the Give to the Poor achievement only on my main, and I only unlocked Zerith-var for my main and got that particular companion achievement done.1 You need to do this akivement with a character that doesn't already have it.
UESP.net - a great resource for all things Elder Scrolls that I've been checking since I played the original Oblivion release - can show you the places where these guys spawn.

They forgot to post on the forum the crown store showcase article today. It's already available (the article) and it's coming August 5th to 12th (Same as the Mammoth Mount).

Maybe we should have a non PVE dungeon, no mobs, so I can walk through and just get my loot drop

Congrats to DC for winning the last competitive, Midyear Mayhem Gray Host campaign. With certain AD nightcapper leads RMTing EP leads for an official Team Orange, only to fall so short. Even with the propaganda from AD nightcappers trying to claim others are zerging and pvdooring, falling flat like their bodies when they have an even fight. DC persevered and 1v2d Team Orange when factions had equal pops. Unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In Our Lane. Focused. Flourishing. Also, thank you AD for fielding the weakest Emp in the quantum history of ESO. We thank you, and to reciprocate, DC will only field the Junior Junior Varsity DC next campaign. We can't name names on forums, but it's the DC ball that got farmed at Bleaks last night by EP pugs; must be chalked up to being legends in their own mind. AD should be able to nightcap a win against the Junior Junior Varsity squad, don't worry. Enjoy the pity.

A better example would be lead drops. If you don't own a certain zone or expansion, the leads for that zone drop from the sky like raindrops in a thunderstorm. But as soon as you buy it the leads become very hard to get.

Welcome to PVP played by PVE players. We're talking about an audience that has no tolerance for failure or dying at any level.
IMO even most players in this game who identify as PVP mains wouldn't be able to tolerate an actually competitive PVP environment. Most PVP mains are thinly disguised PVE players who take pleasure in farming ESO ultracasuals incentivized to go into PVP areas for rewards with no desire for actual competition.
Why is this so? First ask yourself why a true PVP enthusiast would play ESO as it has been for at least 6-8 years?
