Thats just not how the game works though lol. Again, Merciless is the hardest hitting non-ultimate skill in the game. That's not opinion, that's just fact.
merci was the highest hitting ultimate NB had and its not even an ultimate. Now it has been doubled and given to everyone lol
Pretty much, there are very few ultimates (like fewer than 5) that hit harder than Merciless, and Merciless can be fired every 5 seconds. There are zero non ultimate single target skills that hit harder than Merciless. In fact, there might not be any skill (I can't find the base tooltip value of Ele Explosion) that hits harder than Merciless outside of ultimates.
Only conclusion to draw here is to nerf a dead sorc skill obviously
Don't forget the absolute hassle of needing to wait 5 seconds before your first Merciless. What ever will nightblades do??

WHO are they trying to protect? The player base is probably mostly over 40 years old in this game.

Playstation EU is a ghost town, wouldnt bother if i was you.
Most people , if they are not quitting, are switching away from the server to NA or PC.
Calling PlayStation EU a ghost town is a bit harse. There are still lots of guilds with lots of members. And in most zones, I always come across other players. It may not be the same levels as on PC-EU, but it is still not "a ghost town" as you call it.
Yes there are guilds and members but look at the activities going on in pve and pvp, the server suffered massively population wise.
I can not recommend anyone who is interested in Endgamecontent in long term, to start the grind on this server.

I'm a former PC player who made the move to PSNA around November 2023. I'm so happy with the change that it would take an obscenely absurd bribe to entice me to go back.

Started as a PC beta player, got my monkey and my senche tiger, transferred to PS way back in 2015 when it first became available. Maintain both PC and PS5 accounts.

You did include this in the article, but this confusion exists for 3 reasons--
1. The event announcement is worded as follows:
“During the Witches Festival, all adventurers can enjoy a passive 100% boost to XP gain at all times. To collect the Witchmother’s Whistle and down ladles of hag’s brew, simply follow the steps listed below:”
This makes it seem like the XP buff and the whistle-summoned brew are still directly related.
2. Your content creators have brand new videos that state the whistle gives the 2-hour XP buff.
3. The game allows you to see all buffs and debuffs--including ESO plus (which is as constant as this XP buff, if not more so.) Options>Combat>Buffs and Debuffs
I am not trying to blame anyone, but I am clarifying the reasons for the confusion. Perhaps inform your content creators of the change, add the symbol for the event XP buff like you included the ESO plus icon, and start a new paragraph after “at all times” in the announcement.
I am glad the XP buff is constant, but I admit it would be nice to see confirmation that the buff is working.
