It'd be nice to have a mini-game to play during outages of more than 12 hours. I sorta do that though, I play more of a MAX-game during these outages: Skyrim.
This is a durn game, and one made up of little 1s and 0s at that. I can not see getting concerned about being "maximally competitive" at or in it, sorry, I just can not.
Get out in the real world, join the Military and perhaps serve your country,(I did not say serve your Government by the way so do not even whine about serving or not serving it) and try that for excitement and adventure. Playing chicken with a Ruskie boat at test depth while answering a Full bell will get that competitive blood rushing.
ABGs as they are at the moment are more popular than 3-way format ever was...
Yeah, I don't buy that for a moment.

I’ve been playing since the game’s beta, so I’ve seen the ins and outs of this game over the years, and I’m not convinced that 2 teams is as universally loved as you’re making it out to be. Sure, the queues might be faster and you’re seeing some new names, but that doesn’t automatically mean it’s a win.
I don’t really consider anecdotal evidence to be all that strong, especially when you're clearly in favor of the 2-team format. A lot of players still miss the depth and strategy that came with 3 teams, and if you ask anyone who enjoyed that system, they’ll tell you that the 2-team setup feels pretty flat. So, while it’s working for you, I wouldn’t be so quick to call this the overall success some might think it is.
If I were to rely on anecdotal evidence, all I remember is the sheer vitriol it sparked. But let’s be real—that’s just noise. What actually matters is that it’s a downgraded format, plain and simple.
I suspect it's because it's August and a lot of people go away for at least part of the month, either because of school holidays or in the Northern Hemisphere taking advantage of (hopefully) nicer weather, so ZOS didn't want to include anything which would disappoint people who miss it because other things take priority over a game.
When I read the list of endeavors today, my first thought was that the ones who want rewards for doing emotes and using mementos are going to be upset that a Black Sacrament and a trial has come back around.
Warden is a Nature themed Class. Animals and Plant life, so throwing Ice in there too just seems, weird.
That said there's actually a dedicated group of players here that specialize in maximizing the potential of a Warden Ice Mage. @ESO_Nightingale appears to be the defacto Expert on all things Chilly, they always have top notch tips to help you with your build. My icy Argonian wouldn't be where she is now without all the help I got from them.
