well I mean, it used to not take crit damage at one point. It also used to not use resists, but we are talking 9 years go now I think.
The problem shield builds and max stat builds has is that zos gutted most of the max stat bonuses and shield scalers. For instance there used to be a % bonus when you slotted cp.....now it is just a flat bonus that everyone gets by default. Which seems fine for the average player, but for max mag it drastically reduced your potential
Subclassing was the nail in the coffin because magsorc had its skills on every class line. You need ward and curse from daedric. You needed frags and dark converge from dark magic. You needed streak and mages fury from storm. To top it off they now moved the max stat bonus AWAY from the ward skill line for some reason......the only reason left in eso for even running max stats. Then a step further they made the max stat bonus a proc effect for some reason. Which is only comical because they also go on wondering why the game is lagging.

Re: Can we do something about Mudcrab Chitin?
I'd really like to see all the rare ingredients that you have to drop off with your potions removed. I've run out of nightshade, spider egg, nirnroot, mudcrab chitin, and imp stool over the years, so I refuse to do any of those ones. None of which come from surveys. Why can't it be something that doesn't require separate harvesting, such as Lady Smock, that doesn't get used as much?

Perhaps even better, let coral crabs drop mudcrab chitin?
I only do writs on one character per day so the drain on mudcrab chitin is pretty low. Also, I spend lots of time in the basic alliance zones, and harvesting mudcrabs is just a habit like harvesting spiders for eggs.

I hope Crossplay comes sooner, rather than later. The game would be much better off with it.

The Undaunted Celebration, the most grindy, and one of the most popular, PvE events returns September 18th-30th.
So PvP, already struggling, is supposed to be getting one of its rare performance tests during the biggest, or at least one of the biggest, PvE events of the year. Can't wait for lower population numbers to be blamed on overall lack of interest, just like lower WM pop earlier this year (when WM is up there with Witches Festival for worthless rewards).
I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but surely they can't be this clueless?
I think it's actually a great idea. If Vengeance is high pop during one of the biggest PVE events of the year, that's a clear and decisive vote by the player-base that this is something that they really really want.
If its not high pop then the opposite - that there isn't interest - isn't inherently true, and I think ZOS is smart enough to recognize that.

Well, I've finished the story, and it's a thing that exists.
I still stand by my original statements. At least this wasn't High Isle levels of bad, but it was really formulaic. I was really hoping for my "Meridia is actually a villian" story, but I guess that's too high-concept.
It does feel like the emotion is totally robbed though because of the penchant for bringing characters back. I see a character die and instead of being like "oh no! [Character] is dead! This is such a powerful story!" I'm just sitting here wondering what kind of excuse they're gonna bring up in the next part to bring that person back from the dead.
I'm also really not a fan of this new method of "if you don't do the main quest within the first month, we'll spoil it for you" storytelling. It was like that with Necrom, when the reveal event for Gold Road straight up told us what happened in the Necrom story, and it's like that now. And I can only imagine they'll continue with that...
