Yeah, this new urostomy bag is nowhere near as cool as it was. And why is the sound so tame now? The old version was enough to see that you are inside a dark light ball but you could still see the character, with just enough yellow to keep with the templar colour theme, and with a really powerful sound. The best part was it didn't completely cover you inside the ball.

Now it's a quiet bag of kidney-filtered water that obscures the whole character.

I guess they changed it to sell skill styles or something. We'll see if they become available in the crown store.

Really easy for me in 3s to go 10-0-X killing the same guy 10 times in between running and hiding like a rat, drawing little to no aggro at all. It's significantly harder to avoid aggro like that in 2s. Maybe 3s would work better in small arenas.

The game has always had skills misfire for as long as I have been playing (day 1). It has gotten much worse in the last year, and that, coupled with the heavy attack bug, makes combat feel more like random clicking to see what goes off on any given day.

I didn't like the $10 increase for Solstice, so I just waited until I could get it for less and didn't subscribe for a couple months. They have the metrics, and hopefully, they see that the new model is craptacular. That being said: I still play the game pretty much every day, so the $39 I paid for Solstice was a bargain compared to the $40 I paid for The War Within to play for one month or the $29 I paid to play New World: Aeternum for a week.

The problem is that it's not outside the realm of possibility that the devs would do it in this way.

Think about Account-wide achievements: we has a lot of people who wanted to combine achieves so they could use any character for any thing because they see their characters as tools in at toolbox. A lot of other people also wanted to keep individual achieves so that their characters could have their individual histories since they see their characters as individuals. The obvious compromise would be to combine achieves, but allow individual characters to see their contributions. Even the devs from the other MMO talked about how important it was that players still got the dopamine hit from popping achieves on alt characters.
And ZOS decided "we're not going to do the compromise; we're just doing the one way that screws over part of the playerbase."

Think about Subclassing: we had people who wanted to allow their characters to use skills from other lines so they could essentially swap class lines. A lot of other people were concerned about allowing that would essentially reduce the diversity in endgame since there would be objectively one build and everything else would be really underpowered, and also a lot of people who like their characters the way they are would just be comparatively underpowered. The obvious compromise would be to balance it properly, or at least make it so pureclasses were competitive with subclasses.
And ZOS decided "we're not going to do the compromise; we're just doing the one way that screws over part of the playerbase."

tbh, we have a lot more precedent that ZOS is more likely to go for an easy solution that screws over one group rather than trying to do the compromise solution that will appease everyone (which in this case would be allowing players on the same server to have duplicate names so nobody has to change theirs, but that would require changing the character information to make character name no longer an identifier). I'm assuming a lot of this is because by the time they announce the feature, it's far too late to change it. The compromise solution would need to have been built in from the beginning... and they don't want to go back to square one.
But please, if you or anyone else, has evidence that ZOS would be likely to do a compromise solution, we would love to have our fears reduced. It would be great if we could have some reassurance that ZOS wouldn't do an easy solution, but if all they do is combine servers, we do know that duplicate names cannot currently be done.

Also what other positive responses could exist in the poll? "I hope that my character names are deleted when the subclass?"
Even then, it's about 81:100 for people who are like "it wouldn't bother me if I lost my character names" versus "it would bother me," so it's not like it's a blowout one way or the other.

I don't play other MMOs, but just comparing to what we got in previous years does make this year seem very light.

Look at what we got in 2023:
Necrom, $40:

• Two zones (one large, one small), sharing 6 WBs, 6 Delves, and 2 PubDuns
• A New Class
• Two Companions
• A new World Event (Bastion Nymics)
• One new Tales of Tribute deck
• A new Trial

Versus now:
Solstice, $50:

• One zone, presumably with 6 WBs, 6 Delves, and 2 PubDuns (so far, only 3 WBs have been released with one more in the phase 2 of the wall, 3 Delves, and 1 PubDun)
• No new feature (Subclassing is basegame so not included in the value of Solstice)
• No Companions
• A new World Event (but releasing with the wall event)
• No new Tales of Tribute deck
• A new Trial
• 4 DLC Dungeons (also playable via ESO+)

Mathematically, Solstice is offerring way less than Necrom did, and the Dungeons aren't making up for that. Solstice is only a good deal for people who: i) want to own the dungeons permanently regardless of ESO+ status, and ii) only get Chapters for the zones and do not care about Chapter features.

I do feel like the lack of a "special feature" really hurt this time, and I hope that next year for U50 we go back to something big like a Class that will inspire people to open their wallets. Putting the dungeons in as mandatory purchases despite us getting them with ESO+ also really hurts in a way that the Furnishing Vault doesn't make up for (especially for people who are not really into housing).

Then again, each person has a different thing on what is 'worth' or not. I know that for me, if Nick came out and said "yeah the 2026 Pass is $60 and includes a new Class and nothing else," I'd still buy it instantly. For others, it's a good story. Or a nice Zone. Or an amazing Trial.

Yes, since U47 sometimes skills just don't fire. My system (client) does register them because my timers start running, but the game (server) doesn't because nothing happens - no animation, no damage, no nothing.
