As a guild user, I'd rather get the MOTD than an email. You get notifications for both in the same area of the screen and the MOTD won't get my officers banned.

It takes one click to open the MOTD. The game even notifies all members when the MOTD has been updated, so they are aware that there is new information to be seen. Checking Discord is just as quick and easy.
In my opinion any member that can't be bothered to take a few seconds to keep up to date with their guild isn't a true member. They are just names on a roster.

Indeed it is, but this is not the first time I've been at the sharp end of a warning or ban for just running my guild and I am getting very tired of it. I spend all my time and spare money on this game doing everything I can to keep member's interested in playing it and therefore spending, and I'm treated like this, it begs the question, why bother, it's just too much stress.
