So with console we don't have a text chat option .... We have Voice Chat.
Overall I am ok with this BUT there are some serious issues with its implementation...
Since we are able to join up to 5 guilds and each guild can have 5 voice channels on top of the area chat channel.
That's 26 voice channels not including a group channel.

    Ok that is the scope...

    Now the problems...
    • ESO does not remember the last channel that any given toon was active in OR if area chat was disabled.
    • Why is the default voice chat channel "- All Members 1" of the first guild you accepted an invite from?
    • Note, I stated default voice chat channel above yet the game may or may not enter you in that channel on loading :-/
    • Same can be said about area chat.... sometimes it auto loads.... & sometimes it does not :-/

    Solutions...
    • Have the ability to set 1 of the possible 26 channels as the DEFAULT! (Per Toon would be nice)
    • Have the ability to have area chat disabled in settings as a default option if prefered!
    • Have the ability, like area chat has now, to monitor another chat feed. (Explained below)
    • At the least -- Have the game remember the last state a toon was in when it logs out?

    Chat feed monitoring
As it is now we can be in guild/group chat and monitor the area chat feed.
This feature should be available for all feeds. (One participant feed & one monitoring feed)

    .

    Well said.

I think many of the text box arguments can be hushed by a few well placed voice chat tweaks.

I do support your particular suggestions.

Any chance of seeing your theory in a full discussion?

99 percent of the console community is fine without text chat, because most players on console are casual .

Facilitating those mic guys will strengthen the community while asking Joe plumber and Mr daddy to keep track of a keyboard so they can interact with a few guys who have expressed specific contempt for our community seems the long way around to a solution.

I think a reasonable idea such as yours would likely be snuffed out by the five console text chat box advocates.

Given room to breathe and develop free of direct harrasment, I know this is the way forward for helping to enmesh a burgeoning community that while predisposed to drinking a beer, or letting their family watch their gameplay.

ESO is an mmo for real people.

Its the 'I've never player a game like this before' crowd.

If people of this community can't be bothered to help newcomers to understand the game we all have in common, they should at least be respectful of those players because they are Actually keeping the lights on at zos.

99% of the console community is fine without text chat?

10% of players on ps4 have made it to vr1. 3/4 of the ps4 playerbase has already quit. Yup 99% of players on console are happy lul

Lol the majority of players on console are casuals with jobs, kids, and family.
Sorry if they aren't rushing to vet 14 on a hardcore time schedule.
The game isn't even a year old and you are complaining about people with full lives not having maxed out characters?

I am not sure I am understanding your logic.

Why did you make it so complex for the newer Motif's? Also, Why so much material needed to upgrade our armor and weapons? 100 is extreme, you'll never be able to update the writs to the new tier if this remains.

How crazy low are the drop rates for the new Item sets in the White-Gold Tower and the Imperial City Prison? I've ran normal ICP 6 times and normal WGT 4 and I got 2 pieces. with the huge amount of new sets it's going to take forever to even get vr15 stuff. Let alone vr16 with the crazy difficulty of the new dungeons.

On another note, my crafted Hist bark armor set now says it's bound. Pretty sure it wasn't before soooo... why change that?

    Hello members of Zenimax Studios/Bethesda

Thank you for reading my question here on the forums. I hope this is a well structured topic for you guys to read in your Q&A videos. I will try to be plain and clear as best I can; since many people like to ask questions about the game.

Question 1: I know this game will have updates and new content, but are there plans to add in new types of weapons or equipment avaliabe in the game? I ask this because in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Spears were avaliabe to the players to use as a weapon. The spears were two handed and really unique in the game, considering that it was only introduced in that game. If they were to ever make a comeback in The Elder Scrolls Online, fans (especially from Morrowind) would be jumping with joy to see it as a new weapon type in the game.

Question 2: Is it possible for the game developers to add mounted combat in the game? I'm sure many fans have asked for it, but I'm sure it would require a new mount system and mechanic and then the animation and program, but if it is it would really be nice to see happen in ESO.

Question 3: How long does it take to create a new zone in the studio?

Question 4: Do you plan on setting up new Megaservers in different regions (ie. East Asia and Oceania)
Skyrim was a huge success in Japan. There are a lot of fans in Australia and New Zealand as well. Would it be possible for fans in those regions to have their own home servers instead of using NA and Euro Servers?

Thank you for your time and I hope my questions were valid for Q&A entry.

Hello, I made an account for the forums because I wanted to ask a couple questions:

First, can we get the fog pushed back?

The fog is constant and thick, and takes away a lot of immersion for me. I gave in and tried using ESO Launcher to disable the fog, but that looked pretty awful as well (and I did not feel comfortable using it). I think the game would benefit the most from having the fog pushed back to nearly double the distance it is at right now, or perhaps a slider in the graphics settings. It would have no performance hit and would improve how immersive the game is by a lot. Part of the allure of the Elder Scrolls series is seeing somewhere, and walking right up to it. I can certainly do that now, but it is not as impressive when I can only see 100 yards.

Second, is a dx12 upgrade a possibility in the future?

ESO runs pretty darn well, except when there are many things requiring animation on screen at once. My slight understanding of this is that there are too many "draw calls" going out in such situations, and that DX12 handles them drastically better. Right now I run my game on lower settings specifically because of the lower framerate I get in cities, and it sounds like DX12 could improve the situation. I understand that this is too early for any actual work to be done on implementing DX12, but I would love to know if it is in the plans.

    Thank you.

    Hi there :)

First a little disclaimer and then last the question.

Many crafter and non-crafter miss those nice early level gear they had, most people had their favorite gear parts at those levels. Many crafter thinks there is not enough reward for maxing out profession and that they really do not feel like "master crafter" (after all you can't craft something you crafted when still "learning" the craft which is kind a immersion breaking tbh).

As a irl carpenter it would be funny if I couldn't craft that little wooden butter knife which got me started, but doing some fancy HC carpentry is no problemo. :)

We have a thread about "perk" that lets maxed crafter craft veteran gear and choose any of the early "novice" models.
Thread and the idea has been well received and I wonder what are your thoughts about it?

    Master+Crafter.jpg

    thread link:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/121362/master-crafter-new-perk-for-crafting/p1

    Here is my question:

Can we have a "perk" that lets maxed crafter craft veteran gear and choose any of the early "novice" models.

Is there any chance that we might see something like this in game?

    Thank you,
Keep up the good work :)

Any "new" thoughts on this subject?

    XP Gains,

ZOS sorry for asking this but I can't find a true answer anywhere,

Does leveling up a skill grant any XP at all? Such as my Medium armor is like level 11, so if I sweat it up to max level will that have yielded any XP gains at all? I know it's easy to boost by jumping in and out of lava etc but just wanted to know if skill leveling / inspiration gains give XP.

Quick question. Do daedra poop? Also if they poop do they use a bathroom a hole in the ground or a bucket?

I would like to know this because I was wondering if in the Imperial Sewers we are walking through daedra poop.

Alright so now I'm also wondering, do daedra get baby's? If they do are they cute babies or are they little monsters?
How do daedra ''make love'' or do they make hate? being daedra and all.
I would imagine they are into rough stuff. I'm going to end this post before things get out of hand.

Have a good day and I'm looking forward to these answers.

Will we see the "rare shaggy giant centipede herdbeast that can live only at high altitudes" in Orsinium that is spoken of in the Pocket Guide to the Empire, 1st Edition/The Wild Region?

Why isn't poor fps, video stuttering, falling through the world, etc. etc. not in the known issues list?

My wife complains that I never listen to her. (Or something like that.)

    My ESO addons:
Midnight - Find out when midnight is so that you can check for ww/vamp spawn.
Goto - Adds a tab to the map pane allowing you to teleport to a friend, guildmate, or groupmate for free.

    I'm afraid we won't:
"Greetings to you Lady Honnorah af-Lahreq, Mistress of Mounts! Word has reached my ear of your expertise and knowledge of great steeds new and old. I come bearing a question that arose, as many things do here in East-Skyrim, from a very intense spat in one of our time-honored taverns.

A Nordic hunter and a 'City Orc' both stood about a table quarreling with one another about whether or not the Orcs of the West truly road great, woolly caterpillar-like beasts as steeds. The local orc proclaimed that his stronghold-dwelling cousins have used the unique beasts for generations, as they allegedly 'were useful for navigating the rocky crags and slopes of The Reach and Wrothgar '. My kinsman disagreed vehemently with the pigman's assertions and demanded that he get his thick skull checked, naturally. According to the hunter the only unique mounts he had seen the wild Orcs ride in the western mountains were bears, not furred caterpillars. Furthermore, he insisted that his Clan had hunted in The Reach since High-King One-Eye had conquered the region and not once had they encountered such a creature.

And so, honored Lady, I believe you might have already guessed my question: Are the woolly, caterpillar-steeds of the mountain Orcs a true form of mount to the ever-savage orcs? Or, are they simply fictitious nonsense; a myth conjured up by the barbarians? (It isn't hard to imagine that Orcs, with such naturally low intelligence, could mistake a bear for this 'woolly worm'.) I can only presume that the warriors of the sands would have encountered such steeds during their sacking of Wrothgar had they been real.

I'd appreciate any insight you may have on this matter. As would a great many tavern-owners.

    May Owl spread your knowledge,

Jorvald Fjord-Heart, Shaman of the Old-Ways & Keeper of Northern Legends."

< The end of the parchment is stamped with silver wax sigil in the shape of two embattled dragons >

Lady Honnorah af-Lahreq says, “Well, I don't know—I've never seen a bear, but I have seen pictures of them, and I think at a glance one might very well be mistaken for a great woolly caterpillar! Only with too few legs. And the face of a beast rather than an insect. And the distinct lack of a segmented thorax.

“All right, maybe a bear can't be easily mistaken for a giant woolly caterpillar. However, no such beast is mentioned in either De Brazy's 'Steeds of Tamriel' or Luponio's 'Mounts of the World,' so it's probably safe to regard them as mythical. (I've always found the Orcs to be more fanciful than most people think!)"

Ah, thanks @Ghrimn... That's disappointing. I wasn't even thinking they would be added as mounts but as a heard-beast. Like a cow. I assume that text is something from the Loremaster's Archive. It's a shame they're retconning many of the unique and interesting things about TES Lore... and adding things like fire and ice horses. Ah, well... It's good to have an answer! Thanks!

Is there any news on the development of an all alliance text based looking-for-group tool (similar to PC, other mmos, ect.)? ETA?

The game's central concept of "PvP in PvP areas and be safe in safe areas" needs to stay the way it is.
