This is the official feedback thread for Thieves Guild, including the new zone of Hew's Bane. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes:
  • How did you initially get to Abah’s Landing?
    • If you got the quest from the Collections UI, was it easy to find?
  • How did you find the pacing of the Thieves Guild storyline?
  • How much time did you spend earning Thieves Guild reputation in between questing?
  • Were the additions of hiding spots and trespassing understood while completing Thieves Guild quests? Did they make sense?
    • Do you have any general feedback for these mechanics?
    • If you received a bounty while trespassing, did it make sense why you received it?
    • Did you understand what to do once you entered an area you were trespassing into?
  • What did you think of the new enemies while performing a heist (the clairvoyant and the lookout enemies)?
  • Did you participate in any other criminal activity? If so, what did you do, and how did you like it?
  • Were you able to locate the Thieves Den in Abah’s Landing?
  • Did you find and/or complete the Cutpurse Above achievement, which awards the Master Thief title?
  • Did you receive the edict item?
    • If so, did you use it?

I love the new thieves guild costume (I have the recruit one now), but there is a little problem with them.
One handed weapons clip through them when sheathed. It isn't a super big deal but it looks a bit off and I can't imagine that it would be hard to fix (not trying to sound disrespectful. It may be, I don't know). There are a few other motifs that have this happen, but it seems like all the thieves guild costumes do.
I have seen it fixed with other styles in the past such as the khajit light armor chest piece and thought that I may bring it to your attention.

    @bikerangelo That's a known issue:
    KNOWN ISSUES
    Thieves Guild
    • You will not currently be able to progress past the Thieves Guild quest “A Flawless Plan” due to an issue with one of the art assets. This will be fixed in the next incremental patch.
    • Facial animations are not currently setup for NPCs found in Hew’s Bane and Maw of Lorkhaj.
    • The Clemency passive skill is not currently functional in this build, but will be fixed in a future PTS incremental patch.
    • The monsters during the second boss battle in Maw of Lorkhaj (Rage of S’Kinrai and Will of Vashai) are not displaying their proper visual effects, which may cause difficulty in identifying them as monsters.
    • Any female NPC wearing a pirate costume is currently missing parts of their torso.
    • While traveling through Bahraha’s Gloom, assets at longer distances may not appear right away, or you may see pink or missing textures around some pillars.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I'm not very impressed with the TG related content so far, and the first impressions were pretty disappointing for me. Some side quests should be heavily reworked, details below. After further testing, I'm still not sold on the gameplay, especially with certain mechanics and enemies that are just frustrating to deal with. The fact remains that you're asking for $20 ++ worth for what amounts to a few fetch quests, a very small zone and a trial, which isn't really worth it IMO. The side quests are repetitive and bland, the heists are very RNG dependent and are basically a series of cramped hallways filled with irritating all-seeing enemies that penalize you every time you get spotted. Perhaps the only interesting thing was the story, which brought the player to a number of different locations.

How did you initially get to Abah’s Landing?
Picked up quest from Quen in outlaw refuge, moved from there.

If you got the quest from the Collections UI, was it easy to find?
    N/A

How did you find the pacing of the Thieves Guild storyline?
After completing the first quest involving the Skull, I didn't get a continuation quest from there. If the intention was to make us complete a certain number of the repeatable TG side quests before allowing players to proceed it was not well articulated at all. I also hate this system of "rep farming". Main quest should be disconnected from side quests.

How much time did you spend earning Thieves Guild reputation in between questing?
Did the fetch quest involving one of the Hew's Bane delves. Didn't do the other one involving pickpocketing since I don't like pickpocketing.

Were the additions of hiding spots and trespassing understood while completing Thieves Guild quests? Did they make sense?
Reasonably. Hiding spots function quite well. Trespassing was explained in help section.

Do you have any general feedback for these mechanics?
Add visible detection cones to NPCs and a stealth radius circle around the player when in these trespass zones, similar to the guard's lantern circle. If the player's stealth circle gets into the detection cone, player is detected, if not player is safe. LOS and view cones in this game are not usually that important, but in stealth sections like TG quests visual guides are definitely needed.

If you received a bounty while trespassing, did it make sense why you received it?
Updating: After completing certain quests that required you to trespass, the way NPCs spot you can be rather annoying. Had a case where I opened a door, was pulled out of stealth, then immediately spotted by an NPC more than 10 meters away. Went in and out of the area to test the spotting mechanic and got bounty again and again from the same NPC. I suggest adding a warning animation similar to how enemies turn to face you when they start to detect you, and only after they fully detect you will the bounty apply. Under the current instant spot mechanics the 231 gold bounty adds up pretty quickly. Also, there is not much point trespassing since the areas inside have nothing much to steal, and the potential bounty far outweighs any gold you could make. Also make it such that opening doors doesn't pull the player out of stealth.

Did you understand what to do once you entered an area you were trespassing into?
Try to stay stealthed and sneak past NPCs. Hide in baskets if needed.

What did you think of the new enemies while performing a heist (the clairvoyant and the lookout enemies)?
Time limit seems quite tight, especially when getting spotted means losing time. Even so, I DO NOT WANT any clairvoyance in any enemies in any stealth sections EVER. If I am in a hiding spot, or behind a wall, or behind a corner, or out of the NPC's vision cone, I expect that I will REMAIN HIDDEN. If the NPC is not looking directly at me, I do not want to get detected, or aggroed, or penalized in any way. The presence of clairvoyant enemies in a stealth game is a deal breaker for me.

For heists, can the traps that we've disarmed or triggered on the way in REMAIN DISARMED when we exit? I just had a heist ruined by a spike trap that I had clearly disarmed on the way in, which upon my exit somehow managed to spear me pulling me out of stealth and causing me to get detected, and therefore lose the time bonus. Utter nonsense.

After playing even more heists I have to admit that they aren't fun after a while. The locations of the loot are RNG, so if you get all the boxes in the far ends of the location you have to rob then good luck meeting the time limit. Also those *** lantern enemies spot players so quickly not even getting into a hiding spot will save you, since I apparently got spotted while my character was playing the animation of climbing into the basket. And there are so many of them. I had a heist (I think it was the Sepulcher one) where a grand total of 4 enemies with lanterns were watching the treasure. I stealthed and watched the circles, there was barely any window of opportunity at all. Yes I get that you want to encourage stealth gameplay but can we not resort to spamming these cheap clairvoyant enemies please? And why would you even encourage coop gameplay in a high risk stealth scenario like this? And of course you switch the heist rewards around, so those who get lucky with the positioning get their set pieces first, while the rest of us who have to deal with janky mechanics will suffer. Well done.

Did you participate in any other criminal activity? If so, what did you do, and how did you like it?
Pickpocket side quests get really repetitive after a while.

Were you able to locate the Thieves Den in Abah’s Landing?
    Yes.

Did you find and/or complete the Cutpurse Above achievement, which awards the Master Thief title?
No idea how to start. Kari does not explain anything.

Did you receive the edict item? If so, did you use it?
Yes. They can be useful especially since stealth is often unreliable.

Did you think it was fun and worthwhile?
    Was quite useful.

Do you have any other general feedback?
    1. The pickpocket side quests are pretty buggy. There are times when pocketing an item will progress the first requirement once and the second requirement twice, even when the item wasn't of the kind needed.

    2. Scrap the whole requirement of having specific types of contraband for certain quests and scrap the whole system of "Treasure Types". It's completely pointless and unfun to search around for one specific item for one specific quest. Make it a fixed steal X items or pickpocket X items or make it such that the item needed can be immediately identified like weapons and armour or food and drinks. Don't add RNG to your freaking fetch quests by requiring me to look in every cupboard and drawer for one item.

    2. Make it such that all related side quests eg. pickpocket, heist, delve, world boss etc. unlock the moment you join the TG. If not, STATE AND EXPLAIN WHY in the game.

    3. Increase the daily fence limit. If you're going to inundate us with worthless white contraband at least give us a way to get rid of it sooner.

    4. Looking into Thieves Troves will always pull the player out of stealth. This MUST be changed. Every other owned container, from barrels to lockboxes, allow the player to remain in stealth when looking inside so the player can confirm that they are indeed hidden before they loot the container. The way the troves are set up doesn't allow this. Change it please.

    5. Having NPCs in stealth sections is fine, but we need ways to remove them either by knocking them out or distracting them or something similar. The stealth sections now are a test of pure avoidance, which gets quite stale after a while. Either that or reduce the number of NPCs.

    6. Bounty decay rate could be increased further.

    7. Add NPC vision cones please. Or some prior warning instead of the current insta spot mechanic which tends to be quite annoying especially when trespassing.

    8. Side quests like heists etc. should not be time locked.

    9. The door to the Orsinium Outlaws Refuge can't be opened when in combat.

    10. Remove the clairvoyant enemies please. They aren't fun to deal with at all.

Getting to the Landing... I stumbled upon the Collections quest by accident. I was not looking for it at the time. Typically, I found out the lady in the Refuge because that is just the way I expect the quests to be handed out.

My initial impression of the Guild quest line is that, once joined, the main quest becomes lost. I am doing a side job right now because I did not see anything else to do. The dialog option about jobs with the guild leader disappeared when I did not take it right away, so I said good bye and left. That may be intended.

The hiding and trespassing were explained. Still... On the initial quest to get to the Landing, I still found myself thinking that the "yellow" bystanders would ignore me. I think this is more to do with the fact that the compound is large and filled with common people, how could they know I am not supposed to be there? Getting lost in the crowd was not a strategy.

In general, while the bystanders will drop a bounty on you when they see you and you are there too long, there is really no reason to avoid them. If they see you, it is fine as long as you keep moving. They give you a ton of warning before they attack, even after they turn red. You don't have to use stealth unless things escalate. You can focus on staying away from the guards and not worry about the peasants.

The lantern guards with the circle move slowly and the circle is obvious. It might be too obvious. Without the circle, you never knew how close you could get, which put you on guard. With the circle, you have a ton of confidence because you absolutely know they won't see you. It makes it easy and, unless they surprise you around a corner, I never felt I had to hurry to hide. The fact that they move like they have advanced arthritis in the hips also gives that feel.

Without having tested yet (still at work :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: ), it sounds like you are required to gain in Guild Rep before future storyline quests are offered. This is great, as it matches up nicely with the existing guilds. But it sounds like it needs to be made clearer that this is what is required, and how you go about it.

I think that really applies across all Guilds, not just this one. While it is a good system, as it puts forward the idea of needing to gain reputation in order to be trusted with harder jobs, it isn't clearly spelled out by NPCs or tutorial text. It was never clear in base game (Fighters and Mages Guilds) that you had to rank up to gain the next quest either, nor was it clear how to do so. (Skill line tooltips explaining this don't show up on console.)

This boss is a mess. My fps went down from 60 to 40 just for enterin Hew's Bane and during this fight it goes down to 10~15. This area will never disappear, you can tell that we tried killing her 4 times. The game stutters during this fight, usually when she is starting her strong AOE attack... making it almost impossible to move before you're dead.

I tried the dungeon north of the map too and my fps again went from decent numbers (60 inside the instance) to almost nothing (10~20) when I was in the boss room. That fight was much easier, but the choppiness made me not want to go there ever again.

Edit: The lamia boss was easier to solo, but again... just over 20 fps (I lowered the settings to Medium and it ran for a few minutes at 60fps in Hew's Bane, but it went back to crappy :/)

Did you find and/or complete the Cutpurse Above achievement, which awards the Master Thief title?
No idea how to start. Kari does not explain anything.

The "hit list" as it were, is found on the table next to Thieves' Guild guildmaster. It has no glow or anything, but the name Kari's Hitlist can be seen if you look at the table. Hopefully they will make the hitlist more obvious, since it took me forever to figure out what it was and how to find it.

Definitely - On one character I found it, then wanted to try to start the TG questline another way and switched to another character - spent about 20 minutes looking around the hideout for the note (I didn't make a note of where I found it on the other character) and failed to find it, even though I was looking for it!

It either needs to stand out visually in some way, or have a 'new quest' marker, if that is the only way of starting the quest (although maybe if you find one of the items, that also starts the quest)

Do you have any other general feedback?
    1. The pickpocket related side quests are not fun AT ALL and just made me frustrated. The first objective wants me to pickpocket a certain type of item, but there's only some vague clue about where and what NPC I should be pickpocketing to get that one particular kind of item.

These quests are Complete One Of - you do not need to pickpocket 3 crafting items (using crafting items as an example), it is pickpocket 3 crafting items OR pickpocket 10 items in the zone - if you pickpocket any 10 items before getting 3 crafting items, the quest updates.

Hmmm... OK, some of these noticeboard quests are just too specific. OR droprates of certain items need to be adjusted in the areas where it is indicated that we should search.

I currently have "The Covetous Countess" which requires me to collect and launder "drinkware, utensils, and dishes" and tells me to look in cupboards, kitchens, and dining areas.

I have now been to about 10 kitchen/dining areas of the game, in taverns or noble houses, (both in Abah's Landing and in other zones, there is no zone or location specified for the quest) and all I am finding is stuff like memento mori and other old theft items (I know there are some utensils to be had, but they aren't dropping), the drop rates for the items I am looking for seem to be no higher in kitchen/dining areas than elsewhere.

Unless something is changed (such as a guarantee of at least 1 drop of a utensil/dish per kitchen/dining area in game, perhaps something left out on a table and visible?), these quests could become too tedious to bother to complete.

EDIT: 1 of the taverns in Abah's Landing doesn't even seem to have a kitchen or dining area!!!

    • I accepted the quest via the collections tab. I attempted to try to find it blindly, but unfortunately could not force-forget the note about the collections tab. Had I actually not read the patch notes at all it could have been very frustrating. I first opened my map to find a direct wayshrine after purchasing. There is no "Hew's Bane" or "Abah's Landing" in the location list so I didn't think a direct port was possible. I then ported to my starting city to see if someone just as annoying perisitant as Stuga (by the way, thank you for calming her down) would appear.. no one showed up. Finally I recalled a mention about the collections tab. I had to look for it as I was looking in the main selections - I did find it though and accepted the quest. I headed to Quen in the nearest refuge and carried on. If the direct transport option isn't more clear I feel I'll have another youtube video that will be getting a ton of views - "How to get to ESO Thieves Guild DLC".
    • Suggestion to make it more clear: I myself have found Stuga a bit over the top, so I don't think something like that is needed. But if Quen could appear appear at any wayshrine (or maybe just starting city if theres a reason for that) and after one interaction with her she tells you to head to the refuge to learn more, it would be easier to find. Especially for players that experienced Orsinium as this is a familiar way to reach the DLC. Many folks don't read patch notes and I think that small collections tab could easily be missed (although once people know about it, I think it's a viable option for fiuture DLC's)
    • I accidentally almost (or kind of did) wander into a trespassing area trying to find my way out of the city, but thankfully it was extremely clear what I was doing so i turned around.
    • The Thieves Den was a bit difficult to find but keep in mind I was streaming, chatting with viewers and such - therefore barely focused on finding it. I felt that the new city was exciting to try to find my way around, going from rooftops and such. Obviously there was a big quest marker for where I needed to go - so that part was "clear", it was just finding my way around that was not exactly a straight path. I consider that a plus though. Shows off the city as something that isn't average - you're meant to hop from one building to the next, not just take the obvious roads.
    • I will continue questing tomorrow night. Unfortunately I didn't spend as much time there as planned due to making a brand new Night's Silence set for myself before heading there ;)

Well if its to be sneaky thieving, you might want to fix up the staying hidden while crouching, at times it goes to hidden suddenly detected over 3 times before it stops, regardless if anyone is there or not.

And this has been around since they added in the justice system, and still wasnt fixed on the PTS.

How did you initially get to Abah’s Landing?
I had some troubles at first. And needed a hint from a fellow player

If you got the quest from the Collections UI, was it easy to find?

I didnt find it at all

How did you find the pacing of the Thieves Guild storyline?

I only played one mission. Very creative, very intuitive. Looking forward to hide my Khajiit in more baskets. I also profited from the Night Silence bonuses.. Which made going around the guarded area more or less easy. Which I find a good thing.

How much time did you spend earning Thieves Guild reputation in between questing?

None so far. Mainly because I don't want to spoil too much content.

Were the additions of hiding spots and trespassing understood while completing Thieves Guild quests? Did they make sense?

Absolutely. One Basket was kind of in a tight spot, at the Manor in Eastmarch. But I found that added to the realism and thrill of the situation.

Do you have any general feedback for these mechanics?

One small tidbit. If you go around with a NPC, the realism suffers a bit of course. I just imagined Quen and Sirrvar stuck in this basket, sounds like stuffy and pretty close quarter situation. :D

If you received a bounty while trespassing, did it make sense why you received it?

Yes I had to kill one of the peasants. I did not see him coming around the bend.

Did you understand what to do once you entered an area you were trespassing into?

    Absolutely.

What did you think of the new enemies while performing a heist (the clairvoyant and the lookout enemies)?

Definitly improved Sentries. Good that we see their perception radius now.

Did you participate in any other criminal activity? If so, what did you do, and how did you like it?

I pilfered a few of the Thrash Boxes. Nice idea with the counterfeit writs. Reminded me of the Morag Tong writs back in Morrowind.

Were you able to locate the Thieves Den in Abah’s Landing?

Yeah. But only because I watched a video yesterday. I guess its indicated on the map? So... In my opinion more handholding isn't requiered there.

Did you find and/or complete the Cutpurse Above achievement, which awards the Master Thief title?

    Not yet...

Did you receive the edict item?

Edict? I guess you don't talk about Hubalajads Trash Can.

If so, did you use it?

    Nope

Did you think it was fun and worthwhile?

No idea on the edict. But in general I look forward to see more of Khefrems Boot... :)

Do you have any other general feedback?

Absolutely. Make a wayshrine or boat available from Sentinel, Wayrest, Davons Watch and Vulkhel Guard, so other chars can go to Abah's Landing without entering the Thief guild story line. With some Characters I just want to visit the place. Without getting enmeshed with the underworld.
Also, maybe its just me, but I would really wish we would have gotten a bigger zone. I know logistics don't always permit, and I really congratulate you to Hews Bane. It looks vibrant and realistic, with just the right tad of ESO here and there. But the size of a zone also makes it more interesting to explore. I don't want to run constantly into the next Bandit or overland creatures mob, let alone world bosses. Sometimes I just love to wander and enjoy seeing things without being constantly on my guard.
I also added a video... In which I made some comments.

okay, after reading Kari's hit list, We've found all but the Bankorai paper weights for the master thief title. We could use a better hint or something, scrounging through Hallin's Stand and Evermore with 4 people for over an hour and haven't seen it. The hint for Reaper's march says to look in the fighter's guild but the item is actually in the mages guild.

Comment: The message that you are trespassing can be much too delayed when it gets stacked with several messages to be useful.

There is an area in Abah's Landing across the water from where you enter the first time that, when traveling on the rooftops after exiting from the Leaping Frog, you pass in and out of Trespass zones rather rapidly. The "you are trespassing" ... "you are not trespassing" ... "you are trespassing" ... repeating over and over and over is not very informative, and continues after you leave the area because the messages are queued up. I never did really figure out what parts of that rooftop were in the trespass zone.

Okay, so I have spent a couple of hours for the Thieves Guild content, here are my thoughts so far:
    • Firstly, I got to Hew's Bane, having picked up the quest in the Stormhaven Outlaw refuge. It was simple, nice and easy to follow. Got to the first heist.
    • The first heist's difficulty is pretty simple. You are able to pick up the mechanics well, the places to hide, learning NPC's patterns - all of this requires a little thought. I will get into that more later.
    • Abah's Landing is a great city. It is well built and designed, it has many layers, things are easy to find.
    • The Thieves Guild boards are laid out well, easy to find and there is no confusion.
    • Did two repeatable quests. First one was to find Sailor's pipes which took me to one of the delves, nice and easy, work my way through trash mobs, get the quest item, all good. The second quest was pickpocketing in Glenumbra. I can see that this would be a little more difficult, especially for those with low Ledgermain skills, maybe think about reducing the number of pockets that you have to pick by about two. That would make less bounties incurred, as a lot of the pickpocketing is random chance as to whether you get it, or get caught. But, I completed the quest after clearing a couple of bonties. No problems really.
    • I love the Thieves Guild costume. It really makes you feel a part of the classic Thieves Guild of past Elder Scrolls games, and when on live, my character shall be wearing it with pride for all Thieves Guild related things!
    • I really like that you have to learn some tactics with the heists and trespass areas. A lot of this game involves rush in, kill things without any real forethought, so it is refreshing to have to think about things occasionally. Good job on this. More of this please, ZOS. Hopefully we will see more of this in the Dark Brotherhood DLC.
    • The Thieves Guild den is an awesome base. Well designed and laid out, again it feels like dens from past ES titles.
    • I like that the dailies make other low zones relevant again, even if only for a short time. Again, I hope we see more of this in Dark Brotherhood.
    • The NPC's that I have met so far have been very well written, but this is to be expected from ES games. Again, keep it up. The DLC's seem to get better and better in terms of characters.

The one thing that bugs me about this whole DLC though - it feels as though it is catering solely for Nightblades. I say this as Dark Cloak has saved me a few times so far, and that is a purely Nightblade skill. I am not sure if I would try it on my sorcerer. without invisibility pots etc. I know that Nightblades are the class most likely to be in the Thieves Guild lore wise, but the content should appeal to everyone rather than one specific set of class. I feel the Dark Brotherhood will be like this too, which is fine - this is why I created an Imperial NB on live - because I am lore friendly, but not everyone wants to reroll a Nightblade alt. Maybe Q3 and Q4 DLC'S will be more for other classes? I do not know. But to me, it feels like a NB DLC.

Can't wait to play more tomorrow.

Attempt to steal every treasure from Kari’s Hit List to place within the Thieves Den.

I've found all but one. @ZOS_GinaBruno can you or anyone else please confirm if the Bankorai paperweight treasure is in game? I've turned Evermore and Hallin's Stand upside down with the help of a few others and we have not spotted this one after hours of searching.

The hint in the Hit List mentions a Yokudan conqueror so it would make tons of sense to be in the Yokudan History house in Hallin's Stand. There are even a few NPCs looking around to detect you.

Still on "The Covetous Countess" noticeboard quest.

I finally (after hours of searching) managed to find a clay cup. The quest didn't update in any way when I found it, so remembering that the dialogue when I picked up the quest stated that the goods had to be laundered, I took it to a fence and laundered it. The quest updated to tell me I had found 1/3 items, then gave me a "quest failed" notification on the objective "deliver to the customer" (I still don't know who the customer is).

Now I am usually fairly good at working out what a quest needs me to do with minimal instruction/hand-holding, but at this point I am a bit stumped and really feel the journal entry/objectives for this one need to be clearer. Am I supposed to be laundering the goods or not? If so, why am I getting a "Failed" notification when I do so? And if not, why is the quest not updating when I find one?

Edit: also although the journal tells me this is for a customer in The Rift, there is a character in the tavern next to the Mage Guild in Davon's Watch who has a quest marker for this active quest - she is not pickpocket-able, and talking to her she just says "I have little interest in chatter" - so why does she have a quest marker? It's just confusing tbh. This quest needs a bit of tidying up - at least in terms of journal entry/objectives and quest markers.

Okay so I took the long route! honestly I really enjoyed the ride there though; some people seemed to be in a hurry to get there but I was just enjoying the awesome scenery and fighting when necessary. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this update! I still have testing to do with the delve with more players needed, but everything really seems to be spot on as far as I can tell. The music is timed perfectly with fighting and is very compelling I might add:) So much new armor, weapons, motifs, clothing, pets, mounts......and probably more as I'm not done out there yet! The only thing I've noticed that I don't care for and it was mentioned in another post was the fat factor of the armor on females, they look a little too beefy?! hah! otherwise they are really nice. Really enjoying the assistants! thanks so much for doing this; sometimes I just left the assistant out to tag along until needed or sometimes I'd send her away for the pet. Very nice addition to the game! Nice to have a human along for a change. I'll post more as I go along on the content.....excellent job everyone! Loving it!

I'm actually going to abandon this "The Covetous Countess" quest, I've been on it for hours, I can't actually tell for sure but I think it's bugged - as well as the NPC with a quest-marker in Davon's Watch I also had the exact same NPC show up in The Rift with a quest marker who also won't talk to me, and in several hours of trying I've only found 1 dishware item despite targeting the types of areas indicated.

I have enjoyed the rest of the DLC so far, including other noticeboard quests, but this particular noticeboard quest is horribly frustrating, difficult and tedious to complete, and questmarkers on unresponsive NPCs are not helping in the slightest. I would suggest that it is bugged. If it isn't bugged, I would suggest that it needs to be reworked, no-one has enough patience or time to complete it!

It is safe to say that we have looked everywhere in the two cities of Bangkorai for those blasted "massive paper weights". I mean we even found the Auridon decanter and the Reaper's March spittoon (both of which were really well-hidden and had super vague hints).
As far as I can tell, the treasures have to be in cities near guards as that has been the case with the other 15 treasures.

@ZOS_GinaBruno can we please get a confirmation of whether or not the Bangkorai treasure actually exists in the world?

    Oh small supplemental...

As in the Outlaws refuges, I was kind of disappointed that there are no object interactables. I know it kind of would be exploitative and redundant to steal something in a Outlaw den. Still some semblance of interactivity in the Dens would be much appreciated...

    • Did you find and/or complete the Cutpurse Above achievement, which awards the Master Thief title?
I have found 15 of the 16 treasures. The only one missing is number 9: Bangkorai.

    The hint says as follows:
Bangkorai: One of the more organised Yokudan conquerers had to use massive paperweights to wrangle all his inventories. Fair warning, I might keep these.
Source: "Kari's Hitlist" which is found in the Thieves' Den in Abah's Landing.

I have personally spent close to 6 hours trying to locate this last treasure and yesterday, three other people joined me for nearly 3 hours in this search. And we have found nothing at all. Today I spent 3 hours going through the entire Bangkorai zone trying to locate this item. I have checked every house in every town, every tomb in the south and I can honestly say that this treasure is nowhere to be found. The previous 15 treasures were all in towns that were marked on the map and had guards (the invincible ones that arrest you) and of the two places in Bangkorai that match this (Hallin's Stand and Evermore) there is no "massive paperweights" anywhere. I can say this with confidence as we have spent hours going through every nook and cranny without anything. Even the Auridon Coronation Decanter, which was hidden in a really tough spot, was found in under 3 hours.

Please @ZOS_GinaBruno can you ask whoever is in charge of the "A Cutpurse Above" achievement / placement / clues / etc. to verify if the item actually exists.

Despite the hardship we've had trying to locate the last treasure, I will say it has been a lot of fun spending hours combing through zones for the treasures. I just hope this matter is resolved before Thieves' Guild goes on Live.

Yeah, more white theft items in more places. As I mentioned elsewhere, two hours all over Tamriel to find particular item types was a bit much. (Thanks a lot RNGesus!).

I have successfully completed this quest, although it did take me a while to find the right items. I ended up finding 3 of the items, one of each type ("dishes", "utensils" and "drinkware"). Then I laundered all three items and handed in the quest to someone in Evermore, Bangkorai. When you launder an item for the quest it will show you that you "failed", then "completed", but you have to get one item of each type before you can actually complete it. So your quest might erroniously say "completed" even though you still lack two items.

This is the official feedback thread for Thieves Guild, including the new zone of Hew's Bane. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes:
    • How did you initially get to Abah’s Landing?
      • If you got the quest from the Collections UI, was it easy to find?
Got there by going to an Outlaw's Refuge and talking to the NPC for the initial heist.

    • How did you find the pacing of the Thieves Guild storyline?

I've only done the first couple of main quest stories after joining plus the (first?) side quest with the NPC who gets you involved with the Guild. Pacing seems fine, but it can be confusing for players who don't know to do repeatable quests to build rep and unlock the storyline.

    • How much time did you spend earning Thieves Guild reputation in between questing?

An hour maybe on average. But my first repeatable from the "pickpocket, lockbox, loot 'n launder" board upped that number and gave me an initial bad impression of the Guild questing as it was my first such quest. I don't dislike the quest, I just think there needs to be more white trash loot in more places so that when RNGesus isn't smiling on you it doesn't take searching all of Tamriel for nearly two hours to complete it. I like the other quests, too, since you decide how far to go based on the reward you want.

    • Were the additions of hiding spots and trespassing understood while completing Thieves Guild quests? Did they make sense?

Made sense, but line-of-sight can be a problem at times in spotting people and getting to the hiding spots. In some cases, I was looking for hiding spots that would make sense but there were none (or they didn't glow the first time you spot them like they should), such as the warehouse job for that Khajiit, while in other cases there was an overabundance of them (like the first job where you help the NPC who got you caught up in the guild in the first place).

    • Do you have any general feedback for these mechanics?

Well, outside of quests, there are no reliable circles for people guards with lanterns in Abah's, which is fine, but you have to learn how close you can get by trial and error. Not a big deal but I don't recall getting the old warning like you used to with torch guards from the base game, either.

    • If you received a bounty while trespassing, did it make sense why you received it?

Yeah I guess, but at times it was slightly frustrating on a non-Nightblade. One thing I would say is that when I first got to Abah's Landing I was just exploring and was told I had entered a restricted area. I tried to backtrack, was told I was no longer in a restricted area, then got the warning again. I kind of ran around looking for a way out and getting bounties from the beggars. Maybe after you enter a restricted area it could show up as a circle on your map to help you find your way out?

    • Did you understand what to do once you entered an area you were trespassing into?

Sure, try to sneak, get a bounty from a beggar hidden in an alcove around the corner
    • What did you think of the new enemies while performing a heist (the clairvoyant and the lookout enemies)?

N/A for now (will edit later)

    • Did you participate in any other criminal activity? If so, what did you do, and how did you like it?

Found lots of those thief trove things, that was fun. Saw that Hit List and it's on my things-to-try plan at some point.

    • Were you able to locate the Thieves Den in Abah’s Landing?

      Yes, very easy.

    • Did you find and/or complete the Cutpurse Above achievement, which awards the Master Thief title?

Yes, I saw the book and when it didn't give a quest I checked the achievements for the DLC. Then, too help myself and others, I put the list up here on the forums. Haven't gone searching for the items yet (will edit later)

    • Did you receive the edict item?
      • If so, did you use it?
      • Did you think it was fun and worthwhile?
Yes I received a few, haven't used any yet. (will edit later)

    • Do you have any other general feedback?

Yup. My very *first* reactions are recorded here and over here. Not so positive, I know, but part of it is getting used to the new mechanics and having a less than optimal thieving build. The more of the following your character has the better thief it will be:

      - 5 or more pieces of medium armor with full sneak detection passive.
      - completed Legerdemain skill line
      - vampirism passive for fast sneaking
      - any gear set bonuses that make sneaking easier in some way
      - access to the Nighblade skill Cloak

The character I was testing with only had vampirism. I do *not* think these are essential for doing the various types of Thieve's Guild quests, though. There will be a learning curve for the new mechanics but the more you have from that list the less you need to learn/practice. So despite the comments I linked, I don't think the challenge needs nerfed. It just takes some getting used to, and maybe in some places an extra hiding spot or a tweak to better spot risks.

I've warmed a bit to the Thieve's Guild the more I've played it, and it feels like that trend will continue, so I may end up really enjoying it a lot. But I wanted to share my initial impressions because I worry that if other people have similar reactions they may not have the patience to keep pushing and instead call for everything to be NERFED, NERFED, NERFED!!!

Thanks to all the devs reading this for all of your hard work!

I don't want anything to be nerfed, I just want to have to spend less than 6 hours searching for particular items to fulfil a noticeboard quest and increase my thieves guild rep.

It may work out better with a character straight out of Coldharbour who has maybe just started the TG questline and is doing it as they go along (I will try that tomorrow on the PTS and see if it seems a bit better doing the sidequests) so that for example an EP character going along in Stonefalls from level 4-15 may find 3 dishware/utensil items just by robbing everything they find as they quest - if so, that's great for new characters.

My initial experience as a VR16 character who doesn't have anything else to do in Stonefalls is that I'm just going around towns and taverns robbing a ton of items that aren't updating the quest (or only rarely) - and that is all I am doing in Stonefalls, it's not as if I am on the "Restoring Order" quest in Ebonheart and have to go into all these buildings anyway, so maybe it seems drawn out for that reason, because I am only here to rob stuff to advance the Thieves Guild line.

I don't know whether that makes any sense, it kind of does in my head but don't know whether I've expressed it very clearly.
