Can't play game after tutorial in the prison

QuelSerrar
Hello, I can create a character and play through the tutorial in the prison, but once I enter the world, it is impossible to play - everything on screen appears to be frozen, I can move around but I can't interact with anything, and then I get kicked out with the message "An unknown error has occurred". This happened constantly during the beta as well, and on both of my computers. Has anyone else experienced this?

Same here, except I haven't gotten past the loading screen after escaping the prison. It's been like that for over 20 minutes now.

Do you have Virgin Media? I read another thread online about it. I'm with VM :(

I am having the same problem - can't play after using the rift. I am on Virgin Media too.

Same issue here, I was able to play with no problems before the last beta patch. Managed to get through the tutorial and to the starter city, re-logged because it was a bit laggy and bam cant get past the character selection.

I just bomb out with an unknown error, strangely enough I'm with VM as well, but I cant imagine why this would suddenly be an issue.

I'm having the same trouble as well. Once you get out of the tutorial area and begin to quest in for ex: Stonefalls, I get stuck in the loading page for more than6-10minutes and it automatically kicks me off to the log in page. :/ All my Digital Imperial goodies are stuck on my toon now.

Just thought I would add that according to that thread:

"Re: Elder Scrolls Online - Unplayable lag.

    Options

    Hey XXXX

We've found no issues with our network but we are still looking into this for you. Are you finding that you're only experiencing issues with this game?

    Speak soon

    XXXX"

I do hope this isn't going to be a he said she said situation between VM and Zenimax.

Is there any chance a Mod can update this thread even if its just yes we are aware of this.

    Thanks

These are the two ip's that we appear to be connecting to for the game if anyone wants to test/verify:

    192.20.200.215

    192.20.200.64

    198.20.200.194 -198.20.200.199 for me .
Also it uses multiple remote ports. This issue has been reported multiple times during beta and people were suspecting an issue between VM's strict traffic management policy during prime time UK and ESO's ''megaserver '' structure. Essentially VM treats ESO as peer 2 peer traffic giving it low priority.
This is something that should be discussed ( as suggested at beta threads ) between VM and Zenimax and not to start the blame game :)

I'm also unable to play. Everything, including other players is frozen and world interaction is impossible.

I'm from the UK but in Sweden atm, so the problem isn't isolated to a particular ISP.

They have escalated to second line, expecting a call back within the hour...not that I'll be holding my breath.
  • QuelSerrar
Good job! Hopefully they won't deny that here is a problem at their end...
  • a-bare_ESO
I'm from the US and having the same issues. So it's definitely not VM.

I'm having the same issue. Again, VM. Oddly enough my friend who's playing doesn't have this problem and she's on VM too...

It shouldn't be, but there may be issues with the way the traffic is being routed.
Try doing a tracert using the above IP Addresses and post what you get. All info would be helpful.

Also I just checked those IP's and they are in Indianapolis (AT&T)

    EDIT:

Yeah I cant see this being just VM, but there maybe other ISPs that are prioritising traffic the same way.
The fact that there are multiple people on VM wit the same issues does ring a bell hence the call to them today. Could be a red herring but best to check and again disappointed at the lack of an update from a Mod or an Admin, or in fact a follow up on the tkt I raised with Zenimax this afternoon.

Thanks, everyone. We're looking into this on our end, but in the meantime you should definitely escalate this to your ISP.

Same issue and also VM, I've managed to get to the starter town twice but can't interact with anything and get dumped to login within a couple of mins.

Just this minute got off the phone with Virgin, to cut a long story short they aren't interested.
The supervisor I spoke to said that their second line supports answer was to post on the Virgin media forums. Which Starnes has already done, and that hasn't even been updated by a Virgin member of staff since the 26th March, my other option was to write a letter to Virgin head office. You can imagine my response to that.
So my friends looks like we are at an impasse. Not a lot else we can do at the moment except keep trying to log in, and wait to see what the official response from Zenimax will be and if they have better luck speaking to the relevant ISPs.
    Sorry I couldn't give a better response.

Zenimax, if you want a decent SDM give me a shout.

Update: I'm getting in every now and then but the moment I get close to a town the lag shoots up and I end up being d/c.
