When/if new dungeon/trial/raid content ever gets released, I would fully expect there to be much more discussion regarding it on the forums, and it'd be nice to have a separate section for these then.

Furthermore, some people might draw the conclusion from the removal of "Trials/Raids" forums that this isn't a major focus for the development team anymore.
We're looking at ways to better support dungeon discussion with the forum structure right now.

Following up on the some of the recent overhaul feedback:
Actually, one thing that's remained the same is the format for Question threads, and it's absolutely infuriating. If the thread only contains one question (and not a discussion of some kind), then it's fine. But when the thread contains follow-up questions, etc., and the OP keeps accepting answers, it becomes almost impossible to follow the discussion points.

Is there any way to limit those threads to one accepted answer? Because reading those things becomes a jigsaw puzzle after a while.
There's no way to limit the OP from asking follow-up questions - and doing so would presumably prevent them from posting at all in their own threads, which would prevent clarification or discussion. It's also not possible to restrict the number of accepted answers, and sometimes there can be multiple good answers in a thread.

While we cannot change the feature, these problems are considered when we decide how to use Questions. We originally planned to have Players Helping Players be exclusively Questions, but some bugs with the features convinced us to keep normal discussions an option.

Sorry, I don't think I was clear enough with my suggestion (if it's even something that can be implemented).

I absolutely want follow-up questions to be a possibility for the OP. I'd just like them to be limited to selecting one official "Answer" instead of having a row of out-of-context answers at the top of the page that I have to match up to posts below. Or maybe have a way of tiering questions. It just becomes extremely hard to follow a thread when answers are completely separated from the questions they're responding to.
We'll see what options are available to us. This is a feature we want to make as useful as possible.
Does Recent follow the category "following" setting?

I have all of the support subforums turned "off" but I still saw one there today.
No, it only affects what forums are visible on the category page.

Other requests would be for alternate forum backgrounds (much as I like the characters from the cinematic masterpieces that have been produced "a change is as good as a rest") possibly ones that reflect faction allegiance (should people want that option) or even ones based around different guilds? I quite fancy an Ebonheart Pact one... just as long as I don't have to stare at That Damn Nord (Jorunn) all the time.
Multiple backgrounds/skins are not currently an option.

While the mod visibility has been increased at least tenfold, there is one thing missing. A jump to first dev post button on the top of the thread.
This is something that was planned. However a problem was discovered while deploying the overhaul, and its been disabled until until its fixed.

My biggest gripe about these forums (and it was present in the last iteration as well) is that if I write anything in a thread in the 'Leave a Reply' and change my mind, inevitably the draft has already been autosaved and from that point on, until the end of time (aka I can't find a way to clear the auto draft... even saving a blank draft doesn't clear it), when I go to that thread I am automatically brought to the 'Leave a Reply' segment. When I click a thread, I want to be brought to the first new comment, not to my previously erased saved auto draft.

I would agree with this. "Dungeons and Trials" and "Adventure Zones" require different playstyles and strategies, and appeal to different people. I can see why they would put them together (Trials are located within Adventure Zones), but I think having them separate would be better.
We've tweaked the structure to have a unified forum for Adventure Zone content, Trials, and Group Dungeons. While this does combine the overland content with dungeons and trials, it gives the group dungeons a specific home.

I think threads should be able to have tags. This way threads about a certain class or certain content can be filtered without having the additional forums.

Forum tags are something we're very interested in. Unfortunately at the moment we cannot have separate pools of terms for the three languages, which limits the usefulness of the feature.

I have no idea how Vanilla Forums works, but would separate pools actually be necessary? For example, would the following be possible:
(this concept idea is based partly on how MediaWiki handles different languages)
    1. User A tags Post A in the English forum with Dragonknight.
    2. User B tags Post B in the German forum with Drachenritter.
    3. Posts A and B are both added to the tag (tag-class-dk).
    4. (tag-class-dk) contains all "Dragonknight" posts in all languages, and a CSS/JS script tells the software to display the tag as Dragonknight in the English forums, and Drachenritter in the German forums.
    5. (tag-class-dk) can be browsed directly, and set to either display all posts within that tag, or only the posts that are located within the forums of the user's chosen language.
      • If this is where the problem lies, could this not be handled in the same way as filtering posts by language in the Dev Tracker? I think you said that would be theoretically possible, but would mean the tracker is not always up-to-date. With a tag category, that would probably be less important.
    6. Under this system, separate pools of terms for each language are not required, as the translation is done by CSS/JS and not the tag itself.

I feel like the same concept could be applied to the dev tracker. Why can't a simple javascript method be written that filters dev posts by subforum title? So as you iterate over a list of all the dev posts, they would each be checked and filtered into one of three lists, then the list that matches the users language is selected for display.

Indeed. I assume this is how it would work if implemented; what I actually don't understand is why it would cause a delay in updates appearing in the list, unless the JS results are cached for a while (in which case, there could be an "Update" button to purge the list?).

I think that's a bug with how the page directs you to #latest. Your browser puts you in the right place, then the page content shifts slightly due to some extra thing appearing/disappearing on the page.

Yep. This tends to be more noticeable on posts with long quote threads. Initially, most browsers load the full embedded quote before loading the code that tells them to hide all but the most recent quote. That's why viewing the latest post can sometimes put you farther down the page than it should.

Just throwing in my two cents here.......

Nice work on the new lay-out and good job on attacking the "bugs" with it so fast. I, like many others, have been a part of these forums since the Beta and it's quite interesting to see how much things have changed / improved.
Very good community here. Hope we can keep it going strong. Seems to be a very good chance of the community growing in numbers as soon as E.S.O. launches for the "Play-Box" crowd.

I like the new style of the forum. But I very much dislike the new forum username we have been assigned.

I understand mine represents some beta group I was part of, but it violates my privacy as it reveals my email handle to public. Not full address, but even the handle is bad.

I had a forum username before that was generic and different than my email from beta group - why was that replaced and see no option under user profile to change back to preferred username?

That wasn't a change with the new forum layout, nor is it a violation of your privacy. You can probably e-mail CS about changing it, though.

1 - why did my forum username displayed as Jacozilla - generic and not used in email - get changed after this layout revamp to what you now see then?

2 - there's no federal statutes true, but every consumer privacy group would say revealing in public a consumer's email address or handle is a privacy issue. Call it violation, call it not a violation but a bad idea, whatever semantics best label it - fact is every company of any size you'd care to name in the US now has a specific 'do you wish to reveal you email in public' option, for a reason.

3- i have emailed CS and gotten nothing but limbo.

It's not a deal breaker, I'm not quitting ESO or assigning this more world shaking importance - simply as this thread asked, giving feedback to what to me is a non-desired result of this forum change.

    I disagree.
I like mod text all in green. It make it more easily and quickly recognize/identify, especially when there is a long post. I don't have to try to look for the name. I just only need see the green text and I can quickly identify a need to pay attention.

I came here to complain about green walls of text. Was glad to find it mentioned on the very first page, so /agreed with Lionxoft.

Especially when there is a long admin post, it becomes difficult to read. Different background - good. The green line on the left edge - great! But please, let me change the default text color.

And now for something completely different.

While at the first page, I was suddenly missing a feature - follow selected comment. I wanted to see other people's replies to Lionxoft's post. I wanted to know whether it'd been answered by a staff member. I peeked at the second page, but that was it. Would be nice if I could view only the selected "fiber" of the thread.

On multi page threads, when I use the back button to go back one page, I end up at the bottom of the last page. Even when I haven't read that page yet. E.g. a 4 page thread, I read page 1 and 2, switch to page 3 but back-button to go back to page 2, I end up bottom page 4.

The back button is likely directing you "back" to #latest, which goes to the first page you haven't read, rather than the last page you were on.

The insightful / agree / awesome buttons and counters should be visible on each post all the time. The purpose of the feature is lost if it requires users to roll over each and every post. This information should be visible at a glance so that those browsing the thread can see immediately which comments are generating a reaction and therefore may be worth reading / responding to.

The Quote and Report buttons work well on-hover over a post - I appreciate the idea to keep the page cleaner with less things visible, but you shouldn't do this if it dispenses with usability.

Please restore the option to edit original posts. Often times old threads are resurrected (which is fine), but details or facts in the OP have changed. The author of the OP should be able to at least edit the original post so that he/she can help avoid a confusing thread.

    This is an example: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/148508/1-6-provisioning-mats-gotta-be-a-thief-it-seems/p1

I had made an EDIT to that OP back when we were allowed to edit them, and I stated that all provisioning mats could be found on Grocers/Chefs/Brewers. Well that was only a fact for a short time due to it being changed on the PTS with the following patch. I would like to edit this post in order to avoid confusion, but it seems the option has been removed. It's not a big deal, but it's just an example of why we should be able to Edit Original Posts.

When you click on a thread title, it should jump to the first unviewed post in that thread. If you haven't opened the thread before, it would behoove you to read the thread before posting, so that you don't duplicate someone else's post.
