NA Login Server Issues?

    While that is true, this thread in particular, for example, doesn't say 301 in the title, and to be frank it seems like a lot of people don't know how to search. They may, however, click on a thread that says "Fix for Error 301!"

    Perhaps it's too soon, but the more people that overcome it utilizing the Venithar Method the stronger the evidence that it's a solution and the more important such a post becomes. As you've alerted Folsom, however, perhaps that's enough for the time being, or, as you say, in the long run.

    Venithar's solution worked for me too. Took about 60 tries, but it worked. Thumbs up.

    I was logged in this morning just fine and as usual the UI suddenly stopped respond so I reloaded the UI and got dropped to the log in screen and now I can not get in at all. All of the sites for ESO are taking a really long time to load including the account screen (wanted to check just in case). All other webpages are loading fine and nobody else is no the network at this moment. I am finding it very frustrating. it will not even load the news for me on the initial start up screen anymore.

    Just tried again and now it is asking me to repair. Odd since I had already been playing.

    Incidentally, the latest response from the rep asked me to send him the "network" log from the logs folder - and guess what? I don't have a network log. Who knows, that might be part of the issue (probably won't hear back from the rep until Monday) - folks, if you're getting this error message, it might be worth taking a look in your logs folder and see if you are also missing this particular log.

    Don't give up too early, it took me around 60 tries before it worked. You just need to get lucky, that's all.

    Same here, @Elf_boy. I don't really want to be a name-dropper or anything, but let's just say I'm on friendly terms with several leaders in each Alliance and, well, to be frank even know a Daedric Prince or two...

    The infinite loading screen may be something else, @Nebthet78. This error is "Login timeout" after about sixty seconds when you initially attempt to log in and upon a subsequent login attempt a rather immediate "Error 301 (3:1:1229:90098)" (or at least this what it's currently doing to me!), then the same thing again if you keep trying, "Login timeout" after sixty seconds of spinnin', "Error 301 (3:1:1229:90098)" when you immediately try again, then "Login timeout" after sixty seconds of spinnin', and on it goes.

    Actually I am getting this when I go to log in.... It just goes to the screen so I can choose my character and it sits there... even had an issue last night with another player in Crow's Woods public dungeon where we couldn't sync the quests even though we started them at the same time and when we entered the tower together, he was invisible, we were put into different instances.. makes it hard to defeat a boss that way.
    Far too many characters to list any more.

    Also worked for me. One thing I recommended you try is to not wait until the full 15+ sec for Error Login Timeout to pop up. After the first 8 seconds if your not in the server, immediately cancel the attempt and try again.

    Having the same issues, been trying for an hour. Spamming the login doesn't work.

    Times out and then gives a 301 error.

    edit: screw it, it's not like this is going to be fixed anytime soon, i'm going to bed.

    Guess I'll just miss a whole day of feeding my horse and getting my hireling mails.

    I will say I'm surprised that Zen doesn't seem to have 24/7 coverage for technical customer service. That's something a large, popular MMO game should have. I'm still waiting to hear back from customer service again - their last Email to me was Friday.

    Here is the latest one they sent me-

    Allow me to introduce myself! Ahem. My name is (removed) and I am the most amazing Sorceress in all of the land and I'm here to help with my magic!! Well.. that's how it works in my head at least!

    I summoned one of my dragons to find out who needed help and he burned this ticket number into the ground with his fire breath! His name is Ember and he begged me to help you out! The good new is that we found a fix for this error! The bad news? A couple of the troubleshooting steps may cause more issues.

    The first thing I would like to do is apologize deeply for the miscommunication with my former agents. This fix would have been resolved so much quicker had the steps given to you been in the correct order. So from here, I am going to walk you through a couple of steps so that we can revert back to normal!

    The second thing I would like you to to know is that sometimes when you delete the entire game folder (especially recently), this causes many more issues!

    1. Please do yourself a favor and make sure you still have a game folder, it should be located here: (C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher). If you do not see this folder in your C drive I would suggest that you go into your "control panel" and delete ESO. Once this has been done, Please search your computer for any/all ESO or Zenimaxonline related files and delete them. Their may also be some hidden files left lying around, you will need to go ahead an delete those as well.

    Once everything has been deleted, you can log into your elderscrollsonline.com account and download the game again (please store this in your "C" drive). But no worries (removed)! I have some tricks that will speed this up for you! Once you get to the point where the launcher is in front of you, please click on the gear in the upper right hand side of the launcher and scroll down to "Maximum download speed" and change it to 5 mb. Once you have done that, you can press ctrl+alt+delete and head into the "programs" tab from the task manager. Once in that tab, please locate the Bethesda launcher and right click on it. Please then look for "set priority" and set that to "high". This will greatly speed up your download so that you can avoid having to wait for such a long time.


    2. The fourth thing I would like you to do is to please replace the UserSettings.txt file. All you have to do is locate the elderscrollsonline folder then locate the "live" folder. Once in the live folder you will see a "Usersettings.txt" file. Please open that file and replace (copy/paste) the text in that file with the text provided below:

These steps will ensure that you will no longer receive errors after you get the chance to log into the game! Now, if you are persistent enough, you can.. no. You WILL get into the game!


    4. Now we can finally work on the original error!

    So the biggest fix to this issue that has been documented is to click on the ESO shortcut and launch the game. Once in, add your information like you are logging in and copy (Crtl+C) your password. Wait no more than 8 seconds, quit and try again or as soon as it says login failed or the error occurs, hit alt and paste (Crtl+V) your password into the log in screen again and try logging in. Please keep in mind that it took some of our customers about 15-20 tries before they finally logged onto the server.

    Basically what I'm asking you to do is to spam the log in screen until you get into the game. The issue has been narrowed down to not an account issue, but a log in issue. I believe that you will be able to get into the game this way until the next big patch or hotfix is pushed.

    Please let me know if you have any further questions, comments of concerns please let me know and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Please also let me know how your progress with everything goes!

    Interesting that they are now recommending using the "Venithar" method.

    I wouldn't call it a fix like they do, but it is better then nothing.

    Thanks @ZOS_MichelleA, I received one late Sunday evening - unfortunately, the suggestion was to try Venithar's method, which I'd already attempted (and which hadn't worked). Here's hoping that somehow, the server maintenance today might fix the problem. I'll know when I get home from work this afternoon.

    Just sad and disappointed at not getting to play at all over the weekend.
