untrue. it is ESO's design fault that Mer look very much like MAN; skin colour, bone structure of the face. please look at the glorious appearance of an Altmer in the Skyrim. alien, gorgeous and mind warping!

Heh. Well, to be fair, I did try Oblivion (have the boxed set, haven't really messed with the older games too much; Daggerfall is impossible for me to get past the first area ...) um, I found the character design really off-putting. I can't really tell one elf/humany race from another, and everyone's eyes are weird, and sort of roll around in their heads in a really sickening way. At least Skyrim and ESO have improved on that part.

Oh, and Khajit skulls are really doopy in Oblivion; they look terribly deformed. The characters look MUCH better in Morrowind, which is older.

But the Altmer I talked to in Skyrim? Ugh, sounded very human to me, not elvish, really, with all that superiority over other species stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

    Not quite.

Dwemer are as tall as anyone else, far taller than D&D dwarfs.
The story is that their height was slighted in an attempt to diminish their accomplishments (daft but that's lore for you).

Once again Dwemer were as tall as everybody else, not short at all.
Also unlike Dwarfs from other settings Dwemer were extremely magical, far more than the Altmer.

Daedra is begging to be nerfed. I would pick Dremora if it's an option. I don't mind if they twisted the lore a little and revive the Dwemers though.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

Everyone looks terribly deformed in Oblivion. This game's character models are *** ugly.

Want to see real elves, look at Morrowind or Skyrim. ESO does have some nice touches like Bosmer animalistic head adornments, but by and large the elves are too human. If I look at another player and I'm not sure if it's a female Breton, Bosmer or a short Imperial, something is wrong.

They've always been slow of thinking and brutish.

Orcs have always been listed as the fiercest fighters, and slow fighters die before they get fierce. Thus Orcs have always been physically fast.

even worse thing happend. illustrious Altmer share their peaks with the nords. gradient mountaineers confirmed it. travesty of this ilk should not be tolerated.

Altmer height must get fixed, for they are the tallest among the playable races*.

    None of the above.

If a new race were going to be added, my vote would go to either additional khajiit subspecies (though that would more likely be a sub-race within the khajiit character creation process) or Maormer.

You'd still be dissapointed. The "Dwarves" (Dwemer) in elder scrolls lore are actually quite tall, essentially no different than high elves.

I've always seen them more as marathon runners than sprinters. They are, above all, endurant: both physically and mentally. They keep going, no matter what you throw at them. You can't hold them down, they'll rise, regroup, rebuild.

There are many different styles of fighting. Orcs are defensive heavy hitters, obviously quick enough to actually land the hits - especially when berserking - but they aren't normally associated with the fast, nimble kind of combat. That's the domain of Khajiit, skirmishing Argonians, even Redguards (who "are also physically blessed with hardy constitutions and quickness of foot.")

Ok, I can see where you are coming from, and I agree that I wasn't seeing them as fast as Bosmer or Khajiit (Redguard didn't even enter my head). Just as fast as Nords, Imperials, Altmer and Dunmer. I also agree that they are heavy hitters, you don't forget a punch from an Orc in a hurry.

Threads like this usually demonstrate a real shortsightedness when it comes to lore:

Dwemer- Gone. They're not coming back. And they aren't dwarves in the Tolkien sense. Stop asking for this.
Ayleid- Gone. We meet the last one in this game. It even says he's the last one. Stop asking for this.
Falmer- Gone. They were enslaved and blinded by the Dwemer. Who are now gone. Stop asking for this.
Daedra- Daedra are bound to the will of their master. Unless you want to play a totally generic character with no free will... stop asking for this.

If you guys want new racial choices, please come up with ideas that don't completely break the world of the game in the name of "looking cool."

It is still questionable if the Dwemer actually died, the lore says they just disappeared and no one knows what exactly happened. It does seems like they were all killed but they could pretty easily bring them back saying that their technology created a portal to another dimension and they all went through it in the face of total annihilation.
I have thought for a long time that this is exactly what they will do in future ESO games.
