LOGIN ERROR: 301

    Has anyone had this issue that has not canceled their subscription prior to the problem? Maybe if you unsub they created this bug to keep us out of game. lol.

    That's interesting as I got my 301 on the day before my renewal date as well.....

    Not my ISP, I have 2 accounts and I can log in fine on the other one, from the same PC and using the same ISP.

    If you subscribe on monthly basis, and played early access, you should have ~1day remaining. The issue is not with subscription, but i guess, many will find this opportunity to unsubscribe very timely.

    I got my ticket escalated, still can't play.

    I started my alt last week, and started noticing how everything was getting fixed. Didn't encounter any quest bugs during my adventure. And now i encounter this... much worse than some npc not spawning, or my bank getting wiped... At least i could play then, with much frustration ^^

    @Lorail The above is good to know. I have been in touch with support about this via email. Their first response was a canned response based on the issue. Word for word can be read here in the forums in one of the threads regarding error 301. I wrote back stating I knew it was canned and didn't appreciate it. Since then, someone has been working with me. However, I haven't heard a peep since sending them my host.developer file. At the time the problem started for me, I had 17 days remaining of game time. Almost 24 hours later and not one of them spent playing the game. Compensation for all time lost is the only way I would consider renewing. However, my original intent was to let my subscription expire this month and come back in 3 or 4 months and see where the game stands.

    I like the game and see it has great potential. However, it isn't a true Elder Scrolls game. Plus, I've been playing a Templar for my main and feel I chose poorly. I'm not the best player and freely admit it. But, the survivability of a Heavy Armor, 2-handed Templar is a joke. My highest level is 35. So, I have yet to experience the rest of the game. Questing is getting old since the majority of them are repeats of quests already encountered and the rewards are worthless. Many of the rewards make no sense. They are often completely out of touch with the character receiving it. I also don't need quest-givers following me when I enter a new area -- ala Brynjolf from Riften and the Theives Guild in Skyrim. Choice means choice. I choose when to chase down quests. Anyway, I still can't play.

    Don't think it's an ISP problem as I installed and can play w/o any problems on the PTS with the same account.

    My guess is, that either do to packet corruption or a bug in their net code, when I zoned I got set to a non-existent instance causing the endless loading screen I ended up Alt-f4ing to get out of. Then when trying to log in anew, the game is trying to verify the last instance I was in and can't find it.

    <shrug> been yrs. since I've played with any net code, so I'm just shooting blind here

    ps. I am still subbed. I really enjoy the game so far and have faith they will get a timely fix for this. Sounds like they almost pushed one out last patch, but pulled it at the last min due some problems

    Exactly, I can log in on the PTS, on another account and on the EU server, just not the US server.

    Fix the 301 error preventing me from playing the game. By my estimation, because of the current loss of one day's playing time, you owe me $0.50. The subscription fee is $14.99 for 30 days, and one day of that playing time is $0.50. Most companies, when paying customers are unable to use their services, compensate in some way. As far as I'm aware, there has been no compensation mentioned or hinted at for any of the many afflicted accounts. This should be rectified.

    I haven't canceled my sub and I am having this issue.

    I would like the time I am being forced off this game added to my sub, especially if we have to wait until the server maintenance.

    This error appears to be account based and not ISP or machine based. I'm receiving the error on my account and have tried every corrective recommendation to no avail. My wife's account has no issues on our desktop which I receive the Error 301 notice. We'll see what the response is but it does need to get escalated and resolved soon. Probably when the weekly maintenance comes.

    Here is an update from support for everyone wanting to know what they are doing.

    " ... From the experience of other customers, you may be able to log in past the 301 error after our next maintenance period in the morning. Please feel free to try again then and let us know if you are unsuccessful. We have a dedicated team working on a permanent solution, and they are still gathering the host files from players like you that have been affected. Please don't hesitate to contact us as we are working tirelessly to improve the game for everyone. We're here to help you! .. " -- support email

    From the above you can clearly see they are stumped for the moment. They hope the reset in the morning will clear things up for those of us receiving the login difficulties. So, cross your fingers. That is exactly what they are doing. Who knows -- if we all cross our fingers, we will all be lucky and the problem will just vanish.

    Asking customers to wait until server reboot is NOT acceptable.

    Edit: Less than a day of play time left. I decided to cancel. I am simply NOT going to wait for a server reboot on tuesday. This is freaking horrible! I had a blast playing the game, but how on Earth can they expect us to pay for something I can not log into!!!!

    It happened to me after a client crash, whilst Waypoint jumping.

    Try disable Esohead addon. If Esohead "Esohead.lua" reach 10mb+ then y got this error. Try disable in game or delete "Esohead.lua" in \Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\SavedVariables. It realy helps to solve this problem.

    I am ex 301. During my "adventure" with 301 i have learned a lot . 301 is login timeout error and can be caused by numerous reasons, but source of the error seems to be always on server side. I tried all suggestion i could find on net but was unsuccessful.I couldn't log into my home server ( EU ) but could in same time log into NA server without any problem. 301 is error on their side and their side alone. Regarding compensation i wouldn't hold my breath coz CS was clear that decision is still pending. 10 days after my 301 is resolved by server reset i still don't have info on compensation which is total absurd coz i really payed for playing time with my guild and my chars. Dont get what they are deciding about ?

    I am having this error again too.
    I died in game but my character still looked alive and could walk around in the world but not use skills because I was supposed to be dead.
    I couldnt res with Crystals or use a Wayshrine.
    Then I tried to Log out and it wouldnt let me.
    So I tried to Quit and it wouldnt let me.
    So I had to close the game down by Alt + F4 and now I am stuck on the freaking server yet again.

    I am seriously thinking about quiting the game and asking for my money back.
    I want to enjoy this game and not worry about what happens when I have to manually close my game down because they have a problem in the game.

    You have to individually ask for compensation via email. Explain your individual situations and demonstrate you have patience to wait for the problem to be solved. However, you don't feel you should have to pay for your patience. This may net you a 3 day game time code. But understand, you must contact customer service via email -- not the forum. Also understand, how they handle compensation will most likely be on a case-by-case basis.

    Other MMOs I played never had any problems compensating problems like this. We should not have to ask. It's kind of obvious goodwill. To me they didnt say one word about compensation, and they didnt get back to me at all after escalating the case. So it was a very simple choice for me to cancel my account.

    I dont know if this is what helped. But no server restart yet (EU) and no response from the customer service. But I removed the "remember login" typed some garbage, and hit login. Next I typed correct userid and password and boom I can login again.

    Same issue here. 301 / login timeouts. My wife can login at both computers, I cannot login at both computers. I have wrote 3+ mails to your support in the last 24+ hours with no replies.

    Fix the issue, give people the "missing game time due to your fault" back.

    I had the issue pop up on Thursday after a game crash. After the patch/maintenance today I was able to log back in.

    However, I just got an "Unknown Error" message that sent me back to the login screen and now I'm back to the login time/301 error combo.

    EDIT: Something has changed though, because after waiting approx. 10 minutes I can log back in again.
