LOGIN ERROR: 301

I had no problems with this game until today. It has been hours and I have not been able to log back into the game.

What is going on? Why is this happening now? I have already run the repair in the Bethesda Launcher and restarted my router. What is the fix for this? Hurry up and wait for the next server maintenance cycle?

Same here Q_Q,
It seems like the only fix for this is a server reset.
Tried pining ( ping IP ) of ESO but keep getting request timed out.

Since the restart of the EU server i can't log on.

I'm on the American server and am getting this error now. While I was playing today, for no reason I can determine, my computer shut off (the power cord was in, the power on, it wasn't over heating).

Then when I tried to log back into the game I keep getting Error 301.

Uh...why is this happening?

I am now getting this error. I was in Craglorn, just swapping Waypoints, then the game went to an unending load screen. I Alt F4'd out of it, and now nothing but Error 301. For hours.

The same issue with me today. Can't progress further through Character Selection. Haven't got any serious problems till now.

Same problem after crashing out of game about an hour ago whilst switching waypoints.
I've had this before, took half my saturday to clear....Serious glitches in their account clearing issues.

What's even more frustrating is if you type in the wrong password it'll moan at you, the right password and it will just hang...

Had it happened to me last night. Was during a guild PvP event and got disconnected while we were respawning at a keep.

Keep getting a timed out and 301 error message. This only occurs on the US server and not the EU and PTS server for me.

Overall since the game has been released I have been unable to log in a total of around 2 weeks due to errors and issues on ZoS end. I have 2 days remaining on a deactived sub and am currently on the fence about reactivating. Comp me those 2 weeks and fix this issue will go a long way to ease my indecision on resubbing or not. If not ill just take a break from ESO and just wait until all these bugs are fixed and for more patches. (IE: 3-4 months)

Exactly. I am guessing we reach the login server but then gets forwarded to a lobby server, wich in our case will not accept connections from some ISP. This choice of lobby server is random, and its randomly selecting the same one over and over.

Same problem here. I just logged out for a few minutes and now I can't get back on.

Tried the patch repair but no luck, just says 'Connection Timed Out' or 'Error 301'!

This is ridiculous. I had to go to the office to prep two systems for an install tomorrow so I brought my gaming laptop. I played fine, got some mats, recalled to Vulkhel Guard, and it dropped me to the login screen with "Unknown Error". I login, select my character and press play. It sits at "Requesting character load..." indefinitely. My only way out is to press ALT+F4, but it does this every time. I already cancelled due to the enormous amount of game-breaking bugs introduced with Craglorn, but I want my last few days since I DID pay for them.

I think that we will all have to wait until the server restarts (Tuesday?), I doubt people in tech support know how to fix this.

I'm having this issue today all day long, Logging time out, and when I try to do a ticket in the site, it times out when sending....I played fine yesterday until 6 am est, and now nothing

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom or any other mod can give a hand on the ticket, I'll love you long time.

It's all about your ISP and the greed of wanting the servers to pay them money to stream the game to you. If you want it to clear up tell your ISP to get their head out of their ass and face the fact they are a utility and can not restrict or charge more from what you do with the internet service you already pay monthly for.

So you think that certain people's connections are getting throttled because their internet providers are stingy? Wouldn't that mean some people would get error 301 all the time? From what I see it is random and lasts until the next server maintenance.

It's been around 24 hours since this problem started for me now. If I am supposed to wait for a server restart, then I will be a fool to continue paying for this game.

Same here. Wrote to customer support, no answer yet. tried all steps in all threads (clean boots, no av, no fw, repairs etc)

Found quite a few threads about it. Most of them state, that this will be fixed on server restart. So if i can't play till Tuesday, I at least hope to get this time refunded

Its possible some ISP are allowing there peering points with Level 3 Akamai Cognet, etc to saturate. This caused issues with Netflix which is why Netflix was forced to pay some ISP for direct peering bypassing the CDN .

those getting the 301 error should post their connection type and ISP and see if there is any correlation...im curious to see if there is.

I get the error code 301 on my main account. I was curious if it was an account based lock/problem/bug, so I got my brothers' account log in information to try it.

Sure enough, I got right in with his account from my computer.

Now I'm even more frustrated.

I wonder if it has something to do with subscription renewal. I am having the same problem and my account says "You have < 1 days of game time remaining.". It may be that there is a problem with the login server not syncing up with the payment/subscription system.

The kicker is I play on the NA server and cant log in. Error 301. I can log into the EU and PTS server without issue.

I have 2 days left on my sub. Its like ESO is telling me to go play AA.

To me it says: Game Time Remaining

You have 1 days of game time remaining.
