Never never put your feelings out there in Zone chat lol, Zone is full of trolls and other delightful types that just like to argue, if you had of said the opposite the same "trolls" would have flip flopped the other way....Maybe guild chat is better for that kind of conversion...well maybe...who the hell knows whos in what guild anyways, the same trolls could be in your guild and you not even know it.

Btw, not everyone who disagrees is a fanboy. It's gotten to the point where you're simply not allowed to enjoy games anymore. If someone doesnt like something, you HAVE to like it or else you are branded "fanboy". Such a dumb concept.
I personally have serious issues with this game. But, that doesn't mean I want to listen to contsant whining about the same things over and over again. I have to put up with that crap all day at work. Games are my escape from it. In beta and pts, people were willing to help out other people and didn't chastise people who didn't know in zone chat, at least to the extent it is now. It seems that between the merchant spam and lfg inquirers, there now lies either the few remnant people that legitimately care and want to help, and those that are so miserable with their own game play that they live to grief others, be it trolling, fanaticism, raging, etc. That said, it's not a main feature to the game.0

AinGeal✭✭✭People don't like the flaws of their precious game pointed out to them. Plain and simple. It doesn't matter if such flaws were pointed out through a whine, or pointed out with a suggestion to fix it. The reaction is the same. A strong one that often accompanies insults.
If the flaws were pointed out with a whine, they'll impolitely tell you to stop whining. If the flaws were pointed out with suggestions to fix them, they'll impolitely shoot down your suggestion.
The suggestion one can often be broken down into two categories...
First, those that have acknowledged that there is a problem but have come to terms with it. They'll say things like "no game is perfect" and will shoot down the suggestion itself.
Second, those whose heads are so far up their...I mean, so far in the sand, that they will simply shoot down the suggestion on the premise that there isn't a problem to fix.
Yes, no game is perfect. Perfection is impossible to reach. Never stop trying to reach it though.
Turning a blind eye to flaws doesn't do anybody any good. So those that do are labeled a derogatory term to discourage such behavior. "Fanboy".
However, simply whining about it doesn't help either. They too get a derogatory term associated with them. "Whiner".
Those that are doing some good are those that point out the flaw with a suggestion. At least they are trying. Yet even they become subject to crap from others. Too much of a kneejerk reaction to shoot others down.3 -

The most frustrating thing I've had to deal with is having to relog to get a lorebook to show up. Are there problems? Sure. Are there serious issues some are having? You betcha but they won't admit it might even possibly be on their end since... you know... not everyone is having the problem they are.
The multitude you speak of is realistically the extremely vocal minority who show up on the forums to whine and complain about their problems in every single mmo they play. Just because a lot of us are content and not having issues does not make us tools.6 -

The most frustrating thing I've had to deal with is having to relog to get a lorebook to show up. Are there problems? Sure. Are there serious issues some are having? You betcha but they won't admit it might even possibly be on their end since... you know... not everyone is having the problem they are.

Basic and obvious things like provisioning materials in veteran areas, enchanting leveling nightmare, still no search function in guild store, non-existent economy, and I got bashed by fan-boys accusing me of whining and inviting me to unsub if I don't like it.
Really? This is the community this game deserves or this is all what is left after all reasonable people have already left? Why is it if you have a different opinion than theirs you suddenly become undesirable and a "whiner"?
PS I won't say if I unsubbed or not because I am sure one "helpful" moderator will close this saying it is a goodbye thread. It is not. I am just saying that I am disappointed with the community. Or this is forbidden as well?

The thing with computers over consoles is that with a console, as a developer, you know what hardware and software you're developing the game for. For PC, there are all kinds of hardware combinations. Different makes of models for mobo, graphic cards, cpu's, etc. Then there are the different kinds of software. Some are still running old DX versions. Different windows versions. The different hardware means different drivers and firmware.
Any one of which can have compatibility problems with the game. Is this the users problem to fix? No, it's the developers problem to fix.Edited by AinGeal on June 3, 2014 6:30PM1 -

This, the basic (moronic) rule of thumb is if you don't like something or are criticizing something you are a whiner and need to stop crying - and if you disagree with a negative opinion or simply just enjoy something you are a fanboy and need to stop white knighting.

Regoras✭✭✭I, sadly, decided to speak with my wallet. I will probably resub in a few months when they get their act together, but living in fear of what the next patch will break isn't worth a monthly payment.

KaedianEQ✭✭✭I've played nearly every western mmo to come down the pipe since EQ in '99. One thing that remains the same, regardless of the game's title, developer or target audience ... a chunk of the playerbase will never be satisfied, and will think THEY know how best to "fix" the game they're playing.
Conversely, there is an even larger group of players that are happy with the game and never bother spending a second on the forums for said game. I envy them.
