This game has a bad community

Really? This is the community this game deserves or this is all what is left after all reasonable people have already left? Why is it if you have a different opinion than theirs you suddenly become undesirable and a "whiner"?

PS I won't say if I unsubbed or not because I am sure one "helpful" moderator will close this saying it is a goodbye thread. It is not. I am just saying that I am disappointed with the community. Or this is forbidden as well?

Stay far, far away from Eve Online. You don't have thick enough skin.

This is not my first MMO but it is by far the most controversial one.

This, the basic (moronic) rule of thumb is if you don't like something or are criticizing something you are a whiner and need to stop crying - and if you disagree with a negative opinion or simply just enjoy something you are a fanboy and need to stop white knighting.

This thread is proof, it didn't take long to break out the idiocy.

You know what's even sadder? A lot of people are doing this and this will get the game to the point it cannot sustain itself from subscriptions and they will be forced to make it FTP. At that moment whoever thought of going back to the game after a while will not come back to a FTP game.

Funny , try that on the VR chat and many will join you at it hehe.

Guess many low lvl players are new and did not see all the bugs/balance issues the games got to offer.

Noob....sorry j/k you should have seen The VN boards after trials of Atlantis came out for DAoC. Whew...talk about fires. This community isn't bad it's the way some people express themselves that is bad. I just believe that if you are pointing out flaws you should balance it out with the things that are good too.

I'm there with ya. I already unsubbed so now I have a few months left of game time. They have that time to change my mind.

The problem is that I have nothing else to turn to.

WoW: Not a fan of the cartoon style graphics.

GW2: They pigeon holed the players into having to craft in order to get BiS gear. The crafted BiS gear is bound upon creation and the key mats are time gated.

EVE: Since CCP canceled World of Darkness Online, I refuse to deal with them.

I'm hoping that GTA V will come to PC.

I've been looking at Secret World. I'm sick of RPGs that are either 'set-in-the-past' fantasies or 'set-in-the-future' sci-fi.

The response to this thread does nothing but prove the point of the OP. An overwhelming negative response mixed with people arguing with each other over nothing.

Is it impossible to just let the post slide into oblivion without responding?

Apparently so since I felt the need to comment as well .. but at least Im not making the argument that this game has a fantastic community.

Then again, if you want community go somewhere like Tamriel Foundry where they are attempting to create a community. This forum is not the place to find it and neither is zone chat (which the moment i figured out how to, i switched it into it's own chat box and stopped looking at it and I can only assume many other players did the same thing).

Kinda funny how often I see people referred to as Fanboy/Fanboi.. guess it's come to mean something different. I typically would refer to a Fanboy as someone who blindly defends a game.. which I haven't really seen here.

Someone who admits the game has problems, wants those problems fixed, but still enjoys the game despite the problems, and doesn't jump on the complaint bandwagon is not a Fanboy to me. They'd have to totally ignore bugs and claim the game is perfect for the term to be relevant (and even then I still dislike it).

What the term seems to mean on these forums (and really any game forums) is anyone who has a positive insight on the game what-so-ever. Nevermind if they've posted suggestions, agreed on bugs that maybe should get higher priority, or do lots of bug reports in game. They said something good (or didn't want to listen to complaining, or didn't agree with my suggestion to change xyz feature), so they're a Fanboy!

You went into zone chat to list problems with the game and are surprised you got a bad response? We don't even know what your approach was, but I doubt it's a sign of a bad community. The forums are already full of lists of issues and gripes. People actually playing the game tend to want to get away from that and enjoy themselves.

    Agreed.

I've now pugged roughly a dozen instances in the initial 6 available. I have, as far as I can recall, not grouped with the same person twice and used the oft-besmirched group finder each of the times.

I had one group break up when the dk tank declared that sorcerors can't be healers and refused to move past the first room until one of the dps left and a healer was added. Both of us dps and the healer (sorc) left.

The other 11 groups, 33 strangers, all completed each instance along with the odd wipe here and there due to the content being new to some, and others maybe not playing at the top of the roll dodge skillset. The first time I ever went into the instance with the sorceress at the end that summons the quartets of skeletons ... that group wiped I want to say 8x ... two of us had to port out to repair and came back ... still we stayed until it was completed and no one complained at all.

Try finding that in any of the other games out there right now. This game community is head and shoulders above the rest. The forum community is the same as the rest.

You're not starting the ten thousand and first thread complaining about the same things that have been beat to death ad nauseam, nope, you're starting an entirely original thread about the communty, who are sick of hearing people complain about the same things that have been beat to death ad nauseam.

This game has some people in the community that like to overact and exaggerate!

Instead making a small contribution and prove being part of a great community they QQ and being passive ...

Its their choice but it does not reflect our community!

@Purple_Prophet‌ we had one during the beta phase of the forum. It was removed, then brought back, then removed a last time. It was easy to abuse and didn't provide for constructive discussion. We also had a like at one, redundant with agree and awesome, and also an off topic button. That last one got removed because people started to abuse it as a dislike. If you notice, sarcastic lols tend to be the current "down vote" people sometimes use.

"Zone" chat is the garbage can of any MMO. It's your fault for trying to find a decent meal within that trash can. Find a guild!

Btw, not everyone who disagrees is a fanboy. It's gotten to the point where you're simply not allowed to enjoy games anymore. If someone doesnt like something, you HAVE to like it or else you are branded "fanboy". Such a dumb concept.

I personally have serious issues with this game. But, that doesn't mean I want to listen to contsant whining about the same things over and over again. I have to put up with that crap all day at work. Games are my escape from it. Sometimes, you just want people to take their black cloud of misery elsewhere.

This. Right on the nail for me as well.

I think you should stay away from MMOs if you can't handle this kind of "pressure." ALL games have issues with things breaking with patches. ALL games have things people want changed. If you are "living in fear" then hell yes, stay away from this game. It's supposed to be fun.

I actually am having fun. There are glitches. There are glaring bugs. There is, however, nothing in the game that is going to give me ulcers. I'm able to play for a little while and enjoy it. I'm V1 NB, so you can believe I've felt at least some of the issues, but I still enjoy it. I report problems and move on.

I know they will fix most of the problems eventually, but I'm aware that more will show up. It's the nature of the beast. If I thought I were going to get stressed over it, I'd find another game or work more on my mead making. If it's that much of a stress for you, I encourage you to move on. For your own good.
