Nightblade Update

    I will be very happy when you fix/rework stamina wepon builds. Now light armor just rocks not only for NB but for other classes too. Weapon Damage is reduced when entering Cyrodill while Spell Power is not. There are more armor sets that favor magica builds. There is no stamina x% reduction bonuses for heavy nor medium armor or sets bonuses. Also you use stamina for dodge, cc break, sprint and after that there is no stamina for dps. Right now there is magic war and many NB just change there class name to Nightstaff, just to be a little more competitive to other classes. Regards


    I have the impression that the character in the medium armor should not cause damage and should only run fast, hide and dodge. All sets of medium armor on it and calculated. Like most passive abilities.

    My suggestions, complaints and whining about Nightblade:

    Assassination
    Haste - on paper its great skill ... on paper. For me, its waste of slot because light and heavy attacks are just weak.
    Blur - its good skill for tank build. Why its in assassination three? i dont know but its not place for that skill.
    Master Assassin - weapon damage dont boost any assassination skill. Adding spell power to that passive to addition to weapon power dont fix it. Its working only when "USING" assasination skill, so why even keep weapon power bonus?
    Hemorrhage - its should be 10% for each assassination ability sloted

    Shadow
    Path of Darkness - useless now and useless after you patch it. Its very bad designed skill and should be totally reworked. My plan for that here:
    Path of Darkness - Enemies around player take x magic damage every second for 10 sec. Increases movment speed by 30% for player and allies. Radius 5 meters.
    Twisting Path - change movment speed bonus to: on use immobilizes emenies for 1 sec, then slow them by 30% when nearby player.
    Refreashing Path - reduce damage to enemies but add mederate heal to all allies in range of skill.
    Aspect of Terror - just fear them all, right know its only way to kill DK when he blocking and spam standard + talons.
    Summon Shade - in my opinion its waste of slot even for tank. My plan for that here:
    Summon Shade - summon shade to fight for you for x sec. Shade have x% of player health and weapon damage. Player transfer x% of damage recieved to shade.
    Dark Shades - summon up to 5 shades(IV rank skill) to player. Shades dont do damage. When player is hit by weapon skill, light or heavy attack or spell projectile there is x% chance to destroy one of shades and avoid all taht damage.
    Shadow Image - same as Summon Shade but 100 % of player health and weapon damage.
    Surprise Attack - fix armor reduction debuff, both time and amount fo armor reduced.

    Siphoning
    Agony - none of my guild mates using it nor i. In my opinion it should be replaced by something that buffs allies and player, just one thing that NB will be helpfull for others. My plan:
    Agony - all enemies in 10 meters radius recieve x% more damage and deal x% less damage to player and allies. Reduce max magica by 10%. Toggle to activate.
    Prolonged Suffering - more damage debuff both deal and recieved for enemies.
    Malefic Wreath - same as Agony + returns x% damage when enemies attack player or allies.
    Siphoning Strikes - lower spell/weapon power debuff will be ok and fix leeching strikes hp gain.

    Incoming Fixes & Improvements
    We have ongoing efforts to improve the Nightblade class, and fix some of the outstanding issues. Below is an early look at some of the incoming fixes and improvements you will see in content patch 1.2.X.
    •Incapacitate will increase heavy attack damage.
    •Incapacitating Strike will now be capable of critical strikes.
    •Master Assassin will increase spell power in addition to weapon power.
    •Path of Darkness damage will be increased. The ability will also be visible to all players.
    •Refreshing Path will heal allies. The healing will also be slightly increased.
    •Refreshing Shadows will always be active, and will no longer require you to use an ability.
    Also worth noting, there were three Nightblade class abilities impacted by this general combat note from the 1.1.2 patch notes: Fixed an issue where a number of abilities were not properly able to cause critical strikes.

    The abilities impacted by this fix were:
    •Impale (Assassin’s Blade morph)
    •Killer's Blade (Assassin’s Blade morph)
    •Sap Essence (Drain Power morph)


    Outstanding Known Issues
    Patch 1.1.2 fixed many outstanding Nightblade issues, but below are some that we are either actively investigating, working on fixes for now, or have recently fixed and will push in a future patch. Please note this list does not reflect every reported Nightblade issue we are currently investigating.

    General: Currently, a Nightblade’s own residual outgoing damage-over-time ticks break his or her invisibility. This is not intended, and will be fixed in a future patch.

    Dark Cloak (Shadow Cloak morph): Dark Cloak is not currently removing damage-over-time (DoT) debuffs as it should be. We’re currently investigating this issue to determine which DoTs are not being removed by Dark Cloak.

    Haste: Haste is not currently applying the 30% attack speed increase to ranged weapons as it should be. We are working on a fix for this issue.

    Mark Target: Mark Target currently allows you to see and attack targets that are sneaking, but not ones that are invisible. We are working on a fix for this issue.

    Path of Darkness: The PFX for Path of Darkness and its morphs will sometimes appear under terrain. We are currently investigating this issue.

    Pressure Points: This passive ability is working as intended, but there is a bug with the character sheet not correctly displaying the critical strike rating bonus. We have a fix for this, and it will go out with a future patch.

    Siphoning Attacks: This ability’s tooltip will no longer says that it restores health. It never restored health, nor was it intended to. This is a tooltip bug. We have a fix for this, and it will go out with a future patch.

    Anyone having issues with Killer blades healing on the kill shot? Just tested it on 5 npc's and it failed to give me the 18% heal actually it just failed to heal period. I am reloggin to re-test but was hoping someone else can confirm or deny this.

    okay so closing out of the client fixed the issue but keep an eye on it as it could be an intermittent issue like a lot of our other abilities.

    sigh well after a death it reseting again and is not giving me the heal so apparently its back to logging out after every death or instance change on the NB again farking devs.
    It fails intermittently for me, about 1 in 4 KB's does nothing at all. 1 in 3 doesn't heal but does damage.

    Yeah, a lot of my Killer's Blades just make a sound and an animation, but no damage or healing, sometimes 2-3 times in a row. I sometimes have to stab my target four times before it finally hits.

    The killer blade issue is intermittent now, sometimes a kill will heal while other times it wont.

    I am just wondering if the QA team realizes there is 3 other classes besides a DK. Well first I wonder if there is a QA team.

    I dont think the devs even play the game there is so much *** that is broke and not working properly in this game there is no way a competent dev could play the game and not understand the issues and develop fixes that can be tested and work.

    But this team must use the paper towel and the wall style...Lets wet some paper towel wad it up throw it at a wall and whatever sticks we will leave.

    I decided to do the one thing a customer can do to show their level of frustration with a company: I refuse to buy the product. My wife and I have cancelled our subs. If they ever fix NB as a class and make melee weapons actually viable then we may come back later. The only thing companies listen to is the bottom line. Perhaps if they see enough complaints about NB and losing customers over it then it will get pushed as a more immediate problem than "we will fix NB in 1.2 which is months away".

    Sadly it drains mana for each activation too.

    The tooltip for the class skill states it does x dmg per second and is actually doing 8-10 less dmg per second than the stated amount. The same can be said for veil of blades except it's 13 less dmg than the tooltip.

    To make things clearer, for me, Path of Darkness, morphed to Refreshing Path is supposed to do 45 magic dps while stealthed. The actual amount is 35.

    Unstealthed the tooltip states 41 dps and the actual amount is 33 dps

    For me, Veil of Blades states that it is supposed to do 79 magic dmg every 0.5 seconds fro 17.3 secs. and it's only doing around 66

    Am I missing something?

    After 30 pages of posts in this thread, it would be nice to hear from a Dev, and to let us know that they are working on the issues which we have all pointed out in this thread concerning stamina based melee builds. Especially since I think most of us can agree that the "fixes" which they originally posted at the beginning of this thread, are really lackluster.

    I say Nightblades are fine. Don't change a thing. Love the class. Not even being sarcastic. I have played all the classes and the only other one i would consider making an alt for is a Sorc.

    If they were fine they wouldn't be getting an extensive overhaul.

    And last I checked, you don't work at ZOS.

    I have acknowledge on this thread many times understanding that there are issues with the class and happy that ZOS has acknowledged there are problems. Honestly that is all they need to do. It will be fixed. But that's not good enough. People want the fix NOW or ill quit rabble rabble qq, or people suggest what they should do cause they know better apparently qq rabble rabble.

    Many people still play there nightblade and will continue to still play it regardless of the bugs no matter what. People got to learn to stop complaining so much and be patient. Its like terrorism on these forums. "fix this or ill unsub" blah blah blah unsub then.

    Best fix of all would be is if you arent subbed you cant post on these forums. Where is the suggestion box?

    Because ZOS employees have a specific icon. That's one.

    Two: ZOS has themselves said the Nightblade is not in a good place and they are making substantial changes to the class. That you don't agree shows you aren't on the Dev discussion round table.

    Three, ZOS employees wouldn't call legitimate, numerically proven complaints and concerns about this game "qq rabble rabble qq." Nor would they say that people who decide to cancel their subscription to the game over the broken class mechanics are terrorists!

    Honestly, there is so much wrong with this game that I'm surprised they aren't losing people in droves and they probably are. They won't tell us. I almost felt like quitting but I have friends that play. The devs need to go back to the drawing board and do all the class fixes at once, in one large patch. I'm surprised these guys built MMOs before.

    But taking away the best part of beeing a NB Vampire, one of the things that let you invent a smooth playstyle with your NB and gave you sustain in a fight against multiple enemys, is just hilarious.

    If this is true, i am not sure if there is really just one person at ZOS who is sympathizing with the Nightblade class and its players.

    Maybe it is not intended to work on bosses but taking this completly away from NB vamps is not the way the problem should be handled.

    This really gives me little faith in future fixes and changes, to see how mindless they handle such issues.

    I think they play with NB but with a staff of course !!! My NB with a staff do more damages than with dagger and sword with a stealth backstab attack and can do ranged attack.

    So just play EVERY CLASS in the game with a staff, you ll be awesome ;)

    Actually, quite good comparison. Nightblade is nothing more than just a bunny hiding in the darkness from real (DK/Sorc) danger.

    Not only DW abilities, Class skills while using Dual Wield is extremly weak aswell.

    Infact, hiding and then using 2h charged attack does 2 times the damage of hiding DW Suprise attack

    Both Class skills and DW skills needs to be brought up alot in dmg.

    Ye I agree, atm if i use AMBUSH it sometimes does no damage even to a clothey. Charge ruins me when I get rushed but Rapid Strikes does no damage hardly and takes forever for the burst damage. id switch to a 2h but I'm going to loose out on so much Crit Strike because I'm not using duel daggers.

    I also agree that Hemorrhage - should be 5%-10% Crit Strike Damage bonus for each assassination ability sloted that way DW would be automatically buffed and allow those wanting to play HIGH DPS Melee NB the option to do so. (As long as they have the Assassination skills slotted)

    My 2h/DW/Bow NB does really good in PvE. Power Extraction/Whirlwind/VoB is nice. I guess people just like their cookie cutter builds and then complain when they are not as good as theb other classes cookie cutter builds

    Just a quick recap of the problem:
    1. NB DPS is low for both magicka & Stamina builds
    2. A large amount of NB DSP comes from magicka & Stamina weapon damage.
    3. Weapon abilities and passives have not been adjusted yet.
    4. NB DPS needs to be adjusted using NB abilities and passives so not to affect other classes while at the same time boosting damage for builds using magicka & Stamina.
    5. NB DPS bring a low amount of benefits to group encounters (Reasons you want one in your raid)

    If I’ve missed anything feel free to point it out.

    Now my question is what do you think ZOS can do to solve these issues? Keep in mind that magicka & Stamina based builds both need to fix at the same time while not making one or the other OP.

    I have seen no cookie cutter builds on NB at all. Maybe I was not looking in the right place?

    I am seeing a lot of comments about low dps, and difficulty with medium armour, on many builds. And people making comments on how they NB best by bow, and/or using a lot of shadow. But no actual cookie cutter builds.

    It's only NB that needs serious tweaking to be (at least) playable. But hey, ZOS "knows better" just because they are "there" and we are here.

    Assuming that NBs are 22% of the total in-game population (actual survey results), and 50% has already unsuscribed, this is just plain dumb to ignore balancing the class. Both from economical, and mechanical points of view.

    Tell me, ZOS, are you so insightful that you actually don't need an advice from veteran players? Or are you just proud enough to admit that you failed miserably? Why didn't you "just fix" the matter already, ha? No idea. >:)

    It's not true, I have gone invis during several fights today and fed on enemies. I have no idea where that guy was getting his info.
