The game is reporting error code 301. I have no reason to believe this is actually a legitimate report, given that I have connected to the game multiple times from a different account on the same machine with no connection problems at all.

I had the same problem of my NA on the EU it didn't work for me
but also if the server is taking it as your still in that would explain why anytime I try logging in (and getting stuck before character screen) and wife sees I log in with last character played. Which means reset the account , which I asked about in my replies to CS on 5-22 grrrrrrrr. And they wont answer any question I ask.

@Rebeka7h no, the servers hold separate character lists that in no way interfere with each other

There is a direct relationship between the servers.
You cannot be Logged in both of them at the SAME time.
Thats why I think my solution worked for me.
And I sure that Zenimax DID NOT do anything to solve this.
On a side note. I also renamed this folder
C:\Users\<Insert Your UserName Here>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live
to live_backup.
What this will do is Reset your License agreement which may cause the server to Unlock you login status.
The other thing that could try is Changing you Password.
This may also cause the server to log you off.
If it does not work for you..then please do ask the CS to " Log you off from their end"
Try if you can get a call from them to make it sooner. (I had no such luck with the phone)
