Veteran mobs - twice the HP and twice the damage

I am highly tempted to rolls a DK, the NB looks like its going to be weeks/months for a buff and by rerolling I don't have to worry about the Vet level difficulty. But it would be nice if the entire game was playable and not just to one class.

    So these are Kagouti:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtPOVGr_EFs

They have just short of 3,900 HP each. These are VR 3 mobs fighting fully passive decked, heavy armor, overcharged sword and board DK.

Sure, potions could be used, or single mobs fought until ultimate came up. But I hardly think that is the point.

Is this serious? I have never complained about difficulty, (and I am still patching) but if this is for real, then I genuinely may be startting to lose interest in this game. Please tell me it's a mistake :(

They have yet to address this issue with the public...which is unfortunate to say the least.

I just killed two VR10 tigers out of Riften as a stamina/medium/dual NB and the fight was very easy, completely different from the Kagouti video above. They didnt hit me quite as hard.
I am on the EU server.

I dont know whats going on, maybe not every mob has been buffed the same?

Try three or more mobs at once. I also don't have problem with 1 or 2 but there are a lot of packs of 3 or even more mobs you have to fight to get to your quest objective.

Even if it is purely unintentional on their part. Given the developers track record thus far. A fix for this particular issue would already be long in coming. The fact that we are on the verge of a three day holiday weekend in the United States is only likely to delay things even further. If we don't see an emergency patch for the game today.

Then the earliest we could possibly expect to see one would be on Tuesday next week. That would mean the game will have effectively become unplayable for five days for many if not most players trying to play through veteran content. I understand that from the perspective of some this is still doable content, and thus you don't think it effects you, but in the long run it will.

Veteran content as it was already. Just wasn't even handed with all potential builds. Some were doing exceptionally well as compared to others. The result is that some people had a easier time with the content, and it was near murder on others. Just think if you didn't have a couple certain skills how hard some of the encounters would be for you, and realize that some players don't have those particular skills.

Upping the difficulty this much for any protracted period of time is going to just drive customers away in droves. Frankly they wont have much of a choice in the matter. Most don't want to play a game that kills them every few minutes, and punishes them further for dying. This isn't a first person shooter where you just pop back up ten seconds later unscathed, and itching for another round.

Mark my words this may very well seal the fate of the game. It is going to force players to go cold turkey for a time on it, and in that time they might just pull out another game to play, and get lost in that. Allowing them to completely forget all about this game.

From a guy who probably isn't even at vet ranks, or got to VR10 pre 1.1.2 patch, and who doesn't read much since a good third of the responses were from DK tanks, some at VR10 and some even with legendary gear that can no longer hack VR6-VR10 mobs post patch.

Go to the previous VR areas, and then travel to Craglorn.

Compare mobs HP/damage between them both, and between VR1-9 trash mobs and bosses.

Proceed to roll over the floor while laughing out loud.

My tests arent making much sense anyway i should get an add-on to see numbers.
I found fighting against two targets slightly harder but acceptable, it is probably much different to fight three or more.

Questing through the VR levels already was quite a drag before last patch. I just went to Stormhaven to see what the patch has changed and literally found it unplayable solo on my VR8 (DK tank) character in rather decent gear. If that is an intended change, then I am outta here...for good.

In spite of the title, I don't think most mobs were given 2x the life. More like 1.5x - however, the damage being 200% would make sense. The reason this would be significant is that for some very high damage, high control builds, the increased HP likely wouldn't make the fight a lot harder. However for characters more based around endurance that have to weather the hits for longer periods of time, it is absolutely brutal.

Joking aside, since xp was supposed to have been doubled, it might be that they doubled the wrong thing.

Good thing they had a PTS to work out all these bugs before it was released on the live servers. B)

I think the issue is the PTS guys only ran craiglorn. The issue isn't present there. only in the V5+ zones it seems

Put simply so even the derps who aren't even vets claiming we're all noobs can understand:

Craglorn enemies hit as hard as VR5 enemies do and have about the same Health.

VR6 enemies hit as hard or harder than VR10 Group Public Delve Bosses and have MORE health than some Craglorn enemies.

    Craglorn = easy as VR5
    VR6 = harder than Craglorn

    Get it now?

LMAO I said these exact same words ohh two weeks ago, limited testing gets limited results.

Like the PTS People all raved about how swell the game was pre launch.
Then Zenimax launched the game, OH Wow did they launch a Challenger
Only tested Craglorn. The boost to the VR mobs is something separate and independent of the content and patch version that was being tested. It wouldn't have made a difference.

Thanks for this info- hope you don't get dinged for giving it to us, as this is how they should communicate. The obfuscation and prevarication needs to come to an end in favor of transparency. A lot of people are very willing to forgive- but only if they can communicate better.

This change is a coding error. It's gotta be. It makes Craglorn content easier than the Veteran Level content before it.

This is what is pi$sing people off...if we had been able to properly test the new content BEFORE it was released, this may have not happened.

No what's pissing people off is getting no word from ZOS. no one knows if this was intended or if someone made an error. The communication from Zenimax has been the worst I have ever seen. They just blank the entire player base when something like this happens.

if this was intended, im done here...

if i wanted to be infuriated while i try to relax/unwind while enjoying a fun game, i would have stayed married...

Have to agree with other posts. If this really was intended. I'm done. Absolutely loved the potential, but this dev team is the most inept bunch of ass-hats I've seen yet. And that's saying a lot since most mmo devs have become the epitome of mediocrity.

Maybe the plan was to beef up the VR zones so they can flood the new Craglorn zone where the mobs are easier than the older VR zones despite being higher VR ranked so they can show how successful the release is.

    Hey guys,

This change was not intended, though some VR content and monsters are indeed more difficult after yesterday’s patch. We are working on a fix now to revert the difficulty back to what you were familiar with prior to patch 1.1.2, and plan to have this rolled out in the next 24 hours. Thanks so much for your patience!

So this was not intended and we have to wait for a fix.
OK, I will play some alt for 24 hours.

So yea I thought I was making a joke in previous post about making old VR zones harder to drive people to Craglorn. But I just went to "test" the theory. In VR4 zones two mobs are tough...really tough. I previous could handle 3 even 4 groups of mobs before patch. Now they all have 3k health and hit really hard. So I went to craglorn and pulled a 4 pack of VR11 (Welwa) mobs right out of the first city you get too. They all had less than 3k health and I killed all 4 mobs with a bit of kiting and a couple vampire drains.

So yea 2 or 3 VR4 mobs in a VR4 zone = nearly certain death. Higher health, and way higher damage.

4 VR11 mobs in Craglorn = less health than Alikri Desert, hit for less damage, and was fairly simple to kill.

I am 70% into VR4 rank btw with 2230 health and 2040 Magicka. Yea this makes since. Trouble at VR4 killing VR4 mobs but able to kill packs of VR11 mobs at VR4 with ease.....

In name only. It was Mark Jacobs who was the genius behind DAOC.

A genius would not be the lead designer of WAR and a genius would not sell skills and outstanding dev teams to EA!

You can sell a business but not your visions especially not to EA.

You can find the gamer for gamer spirit in Matt and you cannot compare this with any other Head in this industry especially not with Mark Jacobs or Rob Denton.

Many creative Devs lost their jobs because of very bad EA managers and this includes mythic founders.

You need very succesful products to stay alive in this industry or you done and you will never work again on your own baby! Zenimax is one of the last companies that prove how the business works without belonging to EA and this has a lot to do with Matt Firor and his passion for gaming.
