In the my documents-elder scrolls online-live folder instead of your usersettings.txt that you will see there.

This isn't the first time that an issue with that txt file has happened. It seems to be the same people that had the grey play button issue once upon a time that get this problem too.

Confirmed! Thanks very much I simply copied That file you posted! Anyway thanks a ton to everyone involved in the conversation! I hope anyone else who has issues with this in the next couple days will find this thread and be able to get the answer they are looking for. People will need to adjust their personal graphic settings once they get logged in but, at least they will be able to log in. Thanks again everyone.

Oh you are on a mac. This is a PC issue where the game turns to a black screen after clicking play. I'm not sure how to fix the crash issue on mac.

Is there any way to get around the fact that I have started repairing and it appears to be re-installing the game again?
Should I cancel it (despite being some hours in) and try the said fix above?

been reading various posts on having to re-download the entire game after a patch and i'm about 50% done now (after i fixed the dl speeds) and i'm not starting over now.

depressing when you get off work this late and come home to a 25 gig download...

Also tried the text file. Not working for me either.

And have read about people who've had to download the game multiple times and it still didn't work.

Hi Guys,

I'm having a similar difficulty my launcher is very slow in loading. When it does load up after nearly 3 minutes I get a "210 Patcher Error Code". Something that it has difficulty downloading the manifest file.

The Repair option is also inoperable.

This is to be expected pushing out over 2 gigs of a a publish / update and oddles of things will go wrong. Better to have done smaller updates than all at one go Zenimax. Besides releasing it towards the end of the week and you folks have kissed away your weekend in squishing these bugs.

Still being slow on the uptake community wise shows that Zenimax is green behind the eight ball. Perhaps a few more community fandango's and you'll learn from your mistakes hopefully. So much for the legacy expertise on communicating with your customer base.

Well I restarted the comp and after re-installing the patch it is no longer coming up with the Error 1032 and there is a Play button. When I hit play it goes to a black screen and then crashes. I tried the above copy paste of Usersettings.txt and it did nothing.

Same problem as above here. I've run through 3 x repair cycles including 3 x 20+ GB downloads and then I get "eso encountered a fatal error. (Error 11)"

I've repaired. I've uninstalled, and re installed. I've copied all the files from my son's computer.... same problem... black screen with the blue loading circle. I tried the usersetting file linked here as well, but that didn't work, either.

Well at least you got something from them. I am still waiting for some sort of response to my ticket. I guess my only option at this point is a full reinstall if nothing the community suggests works.......

If the above file doesnt work, try setting those values to 1 instead of 0.

SO the above file at least got my game to begin loading......but now I just have music and the load screen with the dragon bone circle just moving around and around. This is after adjusting previous usersettings.txt file, repairing the launcher, adjusting the usersetting.txt file again, a complete re-install and finally finding a new copy of the usersettings.txt file (the re-install didnt come witt one, just like in BETA).

ESO/Bethesda/Zenimax needs to get their QA in order before launching new patches. This is RIDICULOUS! I am having to keep files from beta in order to run the game 2 months after launch..........I am no computer expert by any means, but that tells me that something is broke in your QA/QC department.

I have gotten more help from this forum community than the 2 emails that I have received from customer support. So thanks you all, and remember keep a copy of your usersettings.txt on hand at all times.

This thread has a similar topic but with a staff response and everything. They want some more information about the issue, see the link for more details... Hopefully they fix this nonsense soon.
Apparently the 'click play and nothing works' isn't just a mac thing though.. so I don't know how everyone is fixing it, re-downloading the game aside.

PC Only - Not MAC

I was correct in diagnosing my "Black Screen" problem from yesterday.
(Game will not launch - hangs at a black screen and Not Responding)

The UserSettings.txt file in the My Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live was not updating with a fresh install (File had to be manually created) or from the patch.
I'm running Windows XP 64-bit.

The new UserSettings.txt file contains several new instruction lines that are not in the pre-patch file.

I believe editing your UserSettings.txt file will actually get the game to successfully launch for you.

First - Verify your My Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\UserSettings.txt is NOT set with the "Read Only attribute. (In order to keep the pre-game load credits from loading this may have been set)

Left click on the file and select "Properties" from the menu.
Verify the "Read-only attribute (General Tab) is NOT checked.
Select OK.

You can edit your file manually with my notes below
INDIVIDUAL CONFIGURATION LINES/COMMANDS THAT HAVE BEEN CHANGED:

Command: "SET RequestedNumThreads "0" been REPLACED with two different command lines added.
SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0"
SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0"

The following 4 command lines could be added to your UserSettings.txt file with no deletions.

SET MULTI_GPU_CHECK "1"
SET DisableFXPrecaching "1"
SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "0"
SET MonsterTellsEnabled "1"
