You know how Fallout got a television series that revitalized interest in the Fallout video games, including Fallout 76? I believe a new Elder Scrolls title — being as highly anticipated as it is — is what will revitalize interest in the Elder Scrolls franchise as a whole, ESO included.
When TES VI launches, we can expect that a lot of ESO players will spend some time on that game. We can also expect new players to the franchise to give TES VI a try, and they might even move on to ESO like many of us have.
The Elder Scrolls Online is exactly as its name implies. It is the signature online TES experience. While there is much about ESO that is reminiscent of the singleplayer titles (which is good!) its strongest points are the constant rate of updates and the multiplayer content (PvE, PvP, and otherwise) that is impossible in a singleplayer game, even with mods.
The best part is that ZOS has already been putting so much effort into player experience improvements, especially for new and returning players, that the new players to ESO may stick around this time. We should expect many new players to ESO due to TES VI's expected popularity.
I'm very excited for the future! Although I can't see myself actually playing TES VI for long, I am at least glad that other people may discover ESO through it.
