To anyone who is saying they've cancelled their subscription, or now plan to not buy the Premium or Premium+ version of the Season One update as a way of showing their displeasure with this, I can only ask why you think that taking your anger out on ZOS as a way of trying to get back at Asha Sharman/XBOX/Microsoft is a good idea? It seems to me more like refusing to aid a victim of violence in order to punish the thug who attacked them. Giving aid to the victim does not show that you support the perpetrator; quite the contrary.
So we should continue to pay for a product with an unclear future just because you say we should? That makes sense in your world I suppose, much like your analogy about not paying for a product being similar to not helping a victim of physical assault.
Twist my meaning all you want, but my meaning was clear-- I was talking about people who say "they've cancelled their subscription, or now plan to not buy the Premium or Premium+ version of the Season One update as a way of showing their displeasure with this" massive gutting of ZOS and other game companies.
Can you point me to a product whose future is not uncertain? I can list for you many products that I bought and loved, only to have them be dropped. So are you thinking that I should never have bought those products in the first place, since there was always a possibility that they would get taken off the market? Should we stop supporting everything we like, just because one day it might fail, go out of business, be taken off the market, get cancelled, etc.?
As long as I continue to enjoy playing this game for hours at a time every single day, I choose to support it financially to help keep the servers running and the employees employed. That's my choice. I don't really care what you choose to do-- that's your business-- but if you choose to announce that you're cancelling your sub as a way of protesting this and to send some kind of message to Microsoft, then that's just woefully misguided reasoning in my opinion.

This game is nothing without you, our community. Thank you for sticking with us, and for everything you bring to Tamriel.

Hours of downtime for the EU server last night, and still no word of acknowledgement of it. That's some reaffirming.
I was able to cut $300 dollars per month from my credit card statement that would have ended up with Microsoft.
If they are not going to value their employees that make their services worthwhile to purchase, they obviously do not need my hard earned dollars anymore.
It is absolutely appalling what is happening at a time when the game was starting to show signs of new growth. I can not say everything I want to say, due to the forum rules, but rest assured I am very angry.

The problem is certainly job replacement, but those jobs are not being replaced by AI. Asha Sharma filed for 5,000 H-1B visa hires this year. Job replacements were not exactly 1-to-1 but what happened was effectively mass ethnic nepotism. Unless they go paid off with huge severances, there will be class action lawsuits.
Let us find verification before making criminal accusation, please. You may have been misled.
Yes, ask grok, an AI, for verification.

I saved more than you. I cancelled buying a new gaming rig and a new laptop for my husband. We are waiting for Linux.
Hopefully we get some more information when the dust settles. I think the original message that was put out on bluesky, basically saying they lost half their team, and the person didnt know how they were going to continue developing the game, was a huge mistake. But an understandable one considering the shock of losing co workers like this, especially ones that have been around for so long.
But It would be nice to know if it was actually half of the team or a smaller amount. There is a lot of conflicting information right now, and a lot of dooming. Either way it really sucks, either way microsoft is garbage, and either way they will probably have to delay some things, but theres a big difference between half of the team and like 30 people.

Final time I'll address this non-sense:It's obvious gaslighting to accuse anyone of "racism" and "incitement" for merely mentioning the racial element of a specific alleged crime, which is factually part of the ongoing investigation. Incitement or racism would involve making hateful statements about an ethnic group, not merely stating the fact that an individual or company is accused of a racially-motivated crime.
I am not a collectivist. You are. I am an individualist. STOP projecting your fallacious thinking onto me, fabricating these wild and offensive accusations. I stated the basic facts, based on public reporting and govt investigations. You applied your own fallacious mental model to those facts and extracted a "racist" understanding, because YOU are a collectivist. You can't take my Premise A, your Premise B, put them together and accuse me of saying Conclusion C. Conclusion C is all yours.
The point of my initial post was clear: Don't blame AI. That's deflecting responsibility from where it belongs. That's helping them dodge accountability. AI is not taking the jobs. AI is not making the management decisions. Managers are.
Is there a way to get any affirmation that the ESO will be standing after the Season 1? Not very motivating to play if it's gonna be all ending before the year is through. ;_; @ZOS_JessicaFolsom?

I think an employee will not be able to answer your question.
Restructuring or down-sizing a business that is struggling financially can bring new life to the business. Historically (according to my research) restructured business will continue to do business for a few years if the process was done well. During my study, one case study show a business attempting to save a failing business by increasing sales and lowering product quality. In that case study the business fell down suddenly. But those that do it well can see 5 to 10 more years of service before the company shows a failure to recover.

She should know if they have actual plans beyong Season1 or not? No-way ESO size game would just wing it month by month, unless they are in maintain mode, wich is just slow burn towards the end.
Gaming companies can crash and burn fast, we have seen it. I am not interested to play the game if it just floats for few years. Like is there drive anymore at all? Ambition? Even room for such? What does MS what from ESO? Ofc Jessica doesn't have all the answers, but some sort of clear message would be more than welcome. If she doesn't know (or any of the workers) what is happening, it is hecking bad news. It means MS has no interest in ESO and has left downsized Zos to clean the mess within it's capabilities.
