I know that it's my personal choice to not do these, but I don't want to spend my game time on activities I don't enjoy.
This whole year has been a string of disappointments and I hope they come up with something more appealing because I'm running out of things to do.

Season one will have the Thieves’ Guild sequel story (solo), the Sheogorath story (solo), the Favors mini-storylines (solo), and eventually the High Seas event (solo or small group). As such, there really isn’t much for group players in that Season, particularly players who prefer difficult group content.

This is not exactly the OP's point, but putting these two posts together, I really have been feeling more and more that ZOS is clearly trying to address a backlog of items that they think people really want, but the sequencing could have used more thought. I also have been feeling for a while that I've been running out of "new things to do," and it's because, with the exception of the Night Market, the large majority of things released since the new model has been functionality that can only be enjoyed by replaying content that exists already. Class updates, Tamriel Tomes, and now the difficulty levels. That's all well and good, but there hasn't been enough actual new things sprinkled in between. Personally, I am REALLY missing not getting new group dungeons. But collectively there's no new lands, no new stories, no new dungeons, no new classes, no new companions... nothing new that's permanent. I play almost all content so, while I enjoy group dungeons the most, what I also like is knowing there's always a new thing to explore, a new thing in queue that I can embark on when I have time. I prefer it when I have not "finished" everything but instead know I have at least a few weekend's worth of content in store that I haven't done yet. This also means that anything time bound and event based doesn't "scratch that itch" for me, even though I may participate and enjoy it.
I'm not sure how ok it is if ZOS doesn't make an effort to have each season appeal to a wide variety of players. I'm definitely understanding of ZOS breaking the cycle such that EVERY cycle doesn't HAVE to have a new companion, a new world, x amount of dungeons, a trial, etc. BUT. Veteran players are not going to stick around through multiple seasons if there isn't at least one thing that appeals to their playstyle, in my opinion. So which content is appealing and who isn't engaged currently is likely important for ZOS to know.
It's why there was such an outsized reaction to the Night Market and its group-focused scope. It was the first major new thing we'd seen in a while. If, say, the Shegorath story was chosen to be released in this season, before the Night Market, I don't think it would have been quite as polarizing.
Lastly, regarding the Golden Pursuits, I have a feeling that going forward Golden Pursuits are going to be largely relegated to serving the purpose of enticing people to try the new thing, because all other "go do x" rewards will be in Tamriel Tomes. I could be wrong but I doubt we'll see a lot of Golden Pursuits aimed simply at giving us something do with a mix of activities, broadly appealing and easily soloable, and not tied to new functionality. For better or for worse, I just think that's going to be the strategy.
I'm sure I'll do this Golden Pursuit and that it won't take me long, but the difficulty levels are not that exciting to me

It was fun while it lasted. But now we dont have a real incentive to do overland together.
I wish there was more incentive for us to run around and group like that in the overworld.

I am glad that some are enjoying this Golden Pursuit. I wish I could be one of them but it's just not my thing. I really hope Season One brings some different types of content.
Out of curiosity, what do you normally do in-game? Do you do Dolmens or WBs or Group Dungons at all?SilverBride wrote: »I choose to not participate in things I don't enjoy. That sounds like the most logical approach to me.

If not then I can understand not wanting to mess with stuff you don't typically do. I don't PvP for example unless the rewards are super duper something I want. I didn't bother with the NM beyond getting the House like two days before it ended.
The thing is, if you're doing things that other people are already at like Dolmens, then...feeling strong and powerful is kind of null and void because things tend to die super fast thanks to other people. You won't notice the difference between Adventurer or Seasoned because things die within a second of being spawned either way.SilverBride wrote: »Out of curiosity, what do you normally do in-game? I do almost everything the game offers. Not on a daily basis but as the mood hits me. The only thing I haven't done is veteran trials because I'm not confident I've developed my characters enough to do well. But now with the new Class Mastery passives I think I'll give one a try.
It's not a matter of me not wanting to mess with stuff I didn't typically do. I am simply just not interested in difficulty mode. I put time and effort into developing my characters to be strong and powerful. I should be able to dominate overland enemies and enjoy that I can.
Players are frequently told if they don't like something just don't do it. Well I don't like the concept of the Night Market or overland difficulty so I'm not doing them.

The same is true if you go to WBs that are popular because of Tome Challenges, like the Alter site in Stormhaven or the Unfinished Dolmen in Wrothgar. There are also usually a lot of people running around the Forgotten Crypts Public Dungeon in Deshaan.
Ultimately it's up to each person what they will or won't do but like in this case at least, you won't be able to tell you're on Seasoned because of literally all the other people helping kill things within seconds, the same as if you were on Adventurer. I've felt literally no difference between the settings in cases like busy Dolmens, stuff melts regardless of your setting.
If anyone needs another tip, the World Boss at the summoning altar in Stormhaven (next to the exit to Bankorai) has had a ton of people at it every time I have gone there due to the tome entry that asks you to kill it. Easy way to get the Vestige Boss update as you can just stand far away and hit it and you are done.
I got hit by some sort of AE by the boss on Vestige that one-shot me so range is easier, but as long as you hit it once your fine. I got update while dead lol.
