Festering Timelines - The most annoying, overtuned, and broken achievement

I have been trying for with achievement with five different groups since Night Market came out, all groups we end up wiping at like 10%

There is so many things wrong with this fight. Tank and DPS "dying" but it takes them 10 seconds for it to register that they died. When all three dragons throw their scarabs out it just wrecks the tank, never mind them losing too many resources trying to run away from six different scarabs. The Bone Wyrm's cleaves end up hitting people even if they are not in the cleave. Even with two buffs from the Night Market this achievement is somehow harder than doing the no death trial within the Night Market.

Can someone from the development team please look at this dungeon/achievement when the Night Market comes back? So much time has been wasted to get this achievement when there is so many things wrong with this fight.

It is indeed the hardest achievement in Night Market. And 90% of the difficulty rests on the tank's shoulders. But there are some good tips on how to beat it in these two threads:

There is some serious desync going on in there. Invisible scarabs. Misplaced breaths. But it is doable. The tank needs a sustain and survivability build, not a group buff one. Roll dodge the scarabs. Ignore the main boss other than to block the heavy.

The main boss in this fight is not the slug, nor the dragons. It is the overlord Constant de Sync. That is the enemy you must defeat in order to get this achievement.

There are DLC dungeon hard modes easier than this fight, so it is only fair the only reward for overcoming Constant de Sync is the bare minimum 5 achievement points.

Totally agree. Wasted most of the event on this one and still didn't get it.

Would love to see a video with builds

I didn't bother with this one or the no death.

OO no death is not that bad. If you have a group that knows their respective areas it's pretty straight forward. Mistakes happen so wipe on death, but it still shouldn't take more than an hour, max. Oh yeah, and you don't need to restart the whole trial for the achievement. Wipe is enough.

I appreciate those messaging and providing resources and strategies that can help. But that is missing the mark of why I made this post.

Again, there are a lot of glitches and jank in this dungeon that directly affect the difficulty of this fight. Heavy attacks from main boss either hits the tank too late or too early, dragon's hit boxes prevents targeting of small enemies, even with tab targeting, etc

To be honest as some others have felt I didn't get this achievement and I gave up trying too hard because of the desync issues. I think it'd be difficult to have an honest conclusive discussion on the achievement's difficulty while technical issues plague the fight. I hope the next Night Market pass takes a look at the performance because it's not much fun to be punished for things outside my control.

We aren't missing the mark. We are giving you ways to reduce the desync issue. I myself flagged this a few weeks back. It didn't get fixed and was never going to get fixed until at least next time. So in the meantime, we are giving you options on how to deal with it.

Oh right, yeah, it looks weird when you try to taunt not-Z'Maja and your shield flies 90 degrees to the right hitting a dragon.

Well... Z'Maja's cousin has a very laser-focused mind (and I don't just mean the beams that come out of it) and she stays aggroed on whoever taunted her even long after the taunt has expired. So there should be no need for the tank to retaunt her (though I still do it anyway because natural tank instincts die hard). And there should be no reason for the tanks to taunt the little adds either. The only things that need taunting and retaunting are the dragons, and their hitboxes are conveniently large.

Sure, but this one was a 2t 2dd run and I had not-Z'Maja, the other tank had the dragons. Try to taunt not-Z'Maja -> it taunts the dragon even if it's almost off screen to the right. Try to pull a skeleton so it dies of cleave -> it pulls and soft taunts a dragon even if I aim nowhere near the dragon.

But like you have mentioned earlier, 1t 1h 2dd composition is easier and more clear. Unless you spec the not-Z'Maja tank specifically for NM and in that case, having done it a few times, 1t 1h 2dd and 2t 2dd are pretty much the same difficulty if in 2t composition one tank is specifically built for that, so unless you plan to make a tank build specifically for NM, don't bother, just use a traditional composition.

To be fair, not-Z'Maja doesn't need taunting after the initial one.

I had to fight them with all my worth. After every scarab dodge, I'd immediately spin around to NZM and my finger would hover for a moment. Lol.

There is a pattern to the scarabs.

We had the tank run over to zmaja so we killed them in cleave.

With 1 dragon up 2 scarabs spawn with like 15-20 sec intervall

2 dragons, 2 scarabs spawn 2 times, with like a 5 sec intervall, then its another 15-20 sec window, before u get 2 sacarabs with the 5 sec intervall.

3 dragons, 2 scarabs spawn 3 times, wirh 5 sec intervall, then again 15-20 sec window for dmg on boss before they spawn in 5 sec intervall again.

So basicly, when intervalls are short (5 secs) , be rdy to focus scarabs on tank, as soon as the 2 scarabs have been killed 3 times, go back to boss for 15-20 seconds

Glad it worked for you, but just to say. The scarab spawn timer is based on when the dragon comes to life. So while they do spawn every 15s it looked linked to when the dragon spawned. In my case I had scarab set 1, followed 0.25ish seconds later by set 2, followed about 2s later by set 3. Though that could be the desync issue at play.

You also made it harder on yourself that it needed to be. You just need to kite the scarabs, they die/despawn on their own after 10s like in Fang Lair.
