thank you for 3 houses, they all seem wonderful. awesome update for Housing.

    Disclaimer:
i have not gone to PTS yet. i have only read text and seen other people's pictures.
What are your general thoughts on new houses?
    Rogue's Refuge
It is a good house, i love that it is earnable.
Looking forward to making it into my own Thieves Den.

    Dancing Waters Wellspring
i love Summerset homes and homes with water so thank you.

    Star-Gazer's Vigil
i love Dwemer homes and the Reach, this seems like an awesome house. Happy that it is not underground unlike the other Dwemer homes.

What do you think of the new furnishings?
Awesome to see new Breton and Altmeri furnishings.
i am so used to only q1 and q3 updates adding new Structural furnishings that i did not expect to see them in u50, but of course the releases are different now so this makes sense. it is amazing.

Do you have any other general feedback?
i would like to see more existing assets as furniture such as the desks we see in High isle, Telvanni Peninsula, and West Weald.

Please could we get at least one new classic home and at least one new notable blank platform house per year?

We get all these lovely structure furnishings but it can be very difficult to find a space to actually use them!

Just wanted to first say immediately THANK YOU!!!!! to the devs for adding so many of the new furnishings, like the chicken coop and mushroom barrels especially.

The Summerset structural furnishings are also really appreciated and the new Breton ones are gorgeous. Love the interactable desk. The boulder/vine cave entrance door is also so great. I'm so excited about seeing all these added.

What do you think of the new furnishings?

    I think: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Mushroom buckets!!!!! 🍄🎉🥂

Also the plain straight planks, giant boulders, ROPES buyable from the Home Goods vendor!, chains, etc!

I'm really excited for these "plain" and "common" items that will be so helpful to build with, and those that have been requested for a long time by many others. I think I can safely say, we feel heard!!! <3

I do wish the ropes and chains could be toggled for length, but I assume it couldn't be done for whatever reason and they are great as-is. Very happy they are cheap HG items we can get right away, and love that they have collision!

The huge boulders are wonderful! I hope more HG vendors will get more new stuff like this in the future – especially some giant boulders entirely covered in moss that can be sunken to use as groundcover – example. More examples. Or really, just big grassy (or sand/dirt/whatever, for different biomes) mounds of land would be really nice if that's possible (like the Dawnwood ones are so great; it would be helpful to have options with more low-profile, non-rooted bottoms too).

The new Breton furniture is gorgeous, wonderful details and textures!
I won't get too excited about them yet, knowing how RNG is I expect these will be difficult to get and expensive for a while. But looking forward to using them someday. I wish there were even more matching set items, and hope the other races will get such nice new stuff too!

The new Alinor / Altmer items will surely make a lot of people happy who've been waiting a long time, too!

ATT have not looked at the new houses yet.

Quick thing about the exterior of Star-Gazer's Vigil:

There's a hole in the rocks just off the path that is easy to fall in and short characters can't jump out, so you have to port out. Not a big deal, but maybe throw another boulder in that hole.

    Rogue's Refuge
    • Thank you for giving us certain paintings and furnishings in here! :)<3
    • I love how tall the exterior ceiling is; wish the yard were larger! But even as-is, plenty of space for interesting custom builds. The foggy Glenumbra surroundings are beautiful and I can imagine some cool things will done in here, whether just outside, or using the interior and "doorway" in fun ways too :)

    Dancing Waters Wellspring
    • At first I was put off by the extreme mistyness and blurriness of the background. I wish the background DOF in this house alone could be lowered, without having to lower turn it off globally in user settings nor ask visitors to turn it off.
    • The skybox is beautiful, especially at night!
    • Caveat: I would not buy this as the environment overall (skybox + altmer structures) is not my thing, but FWIW I would only use the night setting here if I did. Idk how others feel, but I find the lighting in places like this and Grand Psijic hard to work with, and prefer the more natural skyboxes. Still, options are good.
    • The water-walking effect is cool as well. I wish we could have this with no structures at all – only water and a waterfall.
    • It's nice that some of the buildings are removable, like people have been asking :)

    Star-Gazer's Vigil
    • The observatory and giant gyroscope thing are gorgeous!
    • The only "flaw" really is that it would be a challenge creatively, since the base and celestial stuff are doing so much already. It's hard to think of what to do in here to emphasize that wonderful focal point, but make it your own :)
    • Wish we could have a lot of the items as furnishings for other places – the giant gyroscope (and maybe a smaller version?), central crystal-holder thing, working teleporters / welcome mat, a giant swath of that pretty blue mist...
    • and those wonderful Stellar Projection Switches – criminal that those are not furnishings to use in other homes! Someday please? 🙏 (Sure it's very similar to the Constellation Projection Apparatus from the Unfeathered Crates, but I'd love to have more celestial things – especially NOT in loot crates!)

What are your general thoughts on new houses?

    Rogue's Refuge

Simply one of the best houses for me.
Very atmospheric, perfectly conveys the atmosphere of assassin/rogue life.
There is enough space for placing and arranging furniture, etc.
Reminds me old good Dark Brotherhood

    Dancing Waters Wellspring

I love elven architecture. However, this house/area looks too acidic. There is also a huge overabundance of fog. It's too spacious. Too much space but poorly designed.

    Star-Gazer's Vigil

This is the exact example, a smaller but better-designed space, that Dancing Waters Wellspring lacked. A great home. Beautiful Dwemer architecture, a great location. A cozy design.
Perfect for people who love solitude, as well as those who play the role of a mage/dwemer scientist.

Bottom line, I'm 100% buying Rogue's Refuge and most likely Star-Gazer's Vigil.

What do you think of the new furnishings?

    The new furniture looks great.
Since I think Daggerfall architecture is the most beautiful in the game, I'm thrilled the developers have added even more Daggerfall-related options so players can transform their homes into medieval castles and dwellings.

Do you have any other general feedback?

I'd really like to see more furniture and estates related to the guilds from the Elder Scrolls universe.
Myrwatch from Skyrim Creations is a great example.
I'd love to see more furniture and houses related to the Dark Brotherhood or/and the Mages Guild.

Open air windows!!! I'm so happy!!!
Thank you for the "High Elf Wall, Grated Ancient Ornate" and "High Elf Wall, Windowed Ancient Ornate"!!!

I would love more gothic arched open-air windows. Especially ones that match Colovian and Leyawiin castle walls. (Or any dark stone castle style. The Breton Planter new furnishing has the BEST stonework!)

    ___________________________________

I love all the mushroom furnishings. My alchemist is getting those ASAP.

Order Ledger is fantastic. Anything to create more variation with busy work/desk spaces is very much welcome.

High Elf floors that are intact are wonderful!!

High Elf staircases with left and right variations 10/10

High Elf Trim, Ancient Ornate: Yes!! Definitely using this furnishing.
I am begging for more trims. I'd love dark wood and various stone trims!

High Elf Planter, Empty Ancient Ornate is a great idea! Empty planters so we can decorate them how we wish is yet another winner.
I prefer the Breton Planter stonework, but that one has "flat" plants on it. I'd buy that furnishing as a planter with only soil in the middle.

Apple Pie has great graphics! I appreciate updated food furnishing graphics.

The collection of Breton furnishings is another improvement. Way less "clunky/ boxy". This is the appropriate direction for furnishings to look more updated. I hope the dark wood Alinor style gets more furnishings that are as "complex" as the Breton pieces.

Breton Drapes, Maroon and Sage are exquisite. I especially love the pattern on the Maroon curtains!
Wish list furniture: The same curtains, but with rods in different colors: wooden rods, dark metal rods.

I love that we have curtain variations that are opened and closed!!
I greedily would also like the Maroon curtains held up/bunched up at BOTH sides. Example: "Colovian Curtains, Noble" are held up in one side.

Breton Trellis, Wooden: I can't wait to build windows with it! I would love a bunch more wooden and metal "trellis" furnishings that I can use to create open-air windows.

Breton Support Beam, Wood: I love this. But in order to build anything with it, I'm going to need it in various sizes. Same texture, but ones that are half sized. That way we can build proper interior ceiling beams/structures.

    ____________

Great job on furnishings, ESO team!
    *brings out my credit card*
Well earned. Update 50 is fantastic for furniture.

    ______________

    Houses:
Sadly, none of the new houses are a building-free alpine zone.
Star-Gazer’s Vigil has some pretty snowy mountains and a waterfall, but I'm disinterested in dwemer architecture or pre-existing buildings.

I am still hoping that we get a version of Forgemaster Falls, Willowpond Haven, & Antiquarian that do NOT have buildings.

I'd even take a version of Pantherfang Chapel without the chapel / pre-build castle. Give me all the castle pieces and some open-air windows in Leyawiin style so I can build my own castle.

I'd love to have those round towers with staircases in them as structural furnishings. The square towers too if they come with interiors we can decorate (and open air windows on the towers)
All the large walls and towers of Castle Skingrad: So I can build a castle that size with open-air windows.

I'd buy HiddenSpring Cottage without the cottage. Max item limit.

#1 wish list house: Alpine biome WITHOUT buildings. Max item limit.
Any of the home instances I mentioned... I'd buy exactly as they are WITHOUT the buildings.

I'd happily pay $100-200 for a building-free zone I can build a castle in. I'd buy them all.
I'd even pay that much to remove the buildings from the instances I already own.

What are your general thoughts on new houses?

    Rogue's Refuge

A big fan of this one, it's a very fun concept and Im glad to see it's earnable in game. I will say though that the textures of the walls seem a bit outdated and low quality, I would have liked to see some updated textures there. The secret door bookcases are really fun, but they're unfortunately hampered by not being able to fill them with clutter that moves with the bookcase. If there was a way to toggle them between a couple of different 'filled' options that would be a huge improvement. As it stands, you're stuck with bare shelves if you want to use the built-in doors.

    Dancing Waters Wellspring

Not really for me. Only point I can make is that it's great to see the new alinor structural furnishings and the fact that two of the large structures in the home are built from these pieces, giving players the flexibility to remove/edit as they see fit - very nice.

    Star-Gazer's Vigil

I found this home really interesting and unique. I wasnt the biggest fan of having the lighting turned on for the large central mechanism while all the parts were spinning as the shadows it cast were a bit too rapidly changing and irregular for my taste (at least as rendered on my computer). I would maybe buy this home if I can come up with an interesting enough way to furnish it.

What do you think of the new furnishings?

A big fan of the secret door bookcase. Im glad that the craftable version is full of books (unlike the built-in doors in the Rogue's Refuge). However, it's also just a really great bookcase outside of the secret door functionality. It would be great if we could have an alternative model with slightly different clutter that doesnt function as a door to allow us to better blend this secret door in our builds.

The new breton furnishings are great. The interactable writing desk is a fun stand-out (which could be improved with a smooth opening/closing animation), but the various hutches and armoires are also great. It's a shame that these furnishings stand out so much next to the base game breton furnishings. I would love it if the team took a pass at sharpening up some of the textures of the base game furnishings to better match these new ones. I could have sworn I saw an updated breton bookcase texture in one of the dev live streams and was a bit excited at the possibility that base game textures were going to be updated.

The new stealable furnishings are a nice addition. Particularly fond of the key, flask, pipe and clipboard which will be useful clutter in a variety of homes.

Do you have any other general feedback?

A bit concerned about how the new breton furnishings are sourced. If they're just zone drops with no alternative or targeted way to acquire them then I can imagine them being prohibitively expensive on the market for some time.

First, the patch notes say that there are 46 new furnishing plans, but I detect that there are actually 47 new furnishing plans in the itemization data. So either the patch notes are off by one, or there is a plan that shouldn't be there. The 47 new plans that I see are:
    a3l58492wtj5.pngqdzc81dne1mw.pngwo96eiog5b3j.png

On the topic of new plans, why are the Summerset ones named "High Elf" instead of "Alinor"? For existing plans, "High Elf" had referred to the base-game high-elf style, while "Alinor" had referred to the "newer" high-elf style found in Summerset. These new plans are of the newer style and are sourced from Summerset dailies, so for consistency, they should be named "Alinor", not "High Elf".

Dancing Waters Wellspring is nice, but the other two homes are a bit underwhelming. It would be nice if more clean slate environment homes would be released for us to fully customize the way that we want. Similar to the coldharbor home, or doomchar, and etc. There isn't enough homes for housing enthusiast to play with.

Also looking forward to more Redguard furnishings that's already in the game, but we're not able to craft it, however we can get some of it from the housing editor crownstore...

The thieves guild graveyard house in Glenumbra is perfect. That is just what I was hoping to get in one of the bigger cities. I'd like to see more of this type of house, with a smallish overworld represenation and some form of larger dungeon underneath. Ideally within a bustling city.

Edit: Please, if you can manage, also provide more Breton-Style door options. The Daggerfall Overlook castle doors are sorely missing, and the model has been in the game for a long time.

Just in case, FWIW, I'll speak up for the dungeon-haters :D
I only like to build outdoors in good lighting. Hate dark, dingy interiors you can't see out of.

Rogue's Refuge works because the outdoors is so tall; it's an interesting challenge to build something in that outdoor space. But I still wish the yard could've been much larger. The interior is not interesting to me at all, except as it could be reskinned for hidden-secrets type builds.

Admittedly I agree some of them are so similar that it would feel redundant to have 2 options, BUT I think this is a good idea / compromise.

First time through Rogue's Refuge I accidentally got stuck in the walls when activating the doors. It was very easy to recreate. Not really sure what solutions for that could look like, but it wasn't great despite being kind of funny.

If not readily fixable, maybe the space in the wall could just be bigger like you are hiding/spying?
