Worked fine for me and I bought a bunch of stuff. I felt it was intuitive that I was in the process of buying one way or another after I quick-clicked at first. Only took once to realize I had to hold it, and that was without reading a tip that said "hold" lol.
I only figured it out by accident. And I didn't see anything that said "hold". Only the keybind that was very confusing.

All I saw was it keep saying "acquire/hold" and nothing happening.

I haven't tried it yet but this that's what I thought we were supposed to do.
This whole system is so not user friendly.
The reroll is over here:

I thought you said here that it said "acquire/hold". Anyway glad you figured it out in the end.

The keybind said "acquire/hold" but nothing indicated to just "hold" the keybind to purchase the item. I was only able to purchase the item by ignoring the keybind all together and just hard pressing the actual item.

That is still confusing to me. I would prefer if it said something like "Hold to Purchase" or "Long Press to Purchase". Just state it clearly.

For instance, if we see:
[E] Redeem/Hold
...we should instead see:
[E (Hold)] Redeem
This clearly divides the input/cause from the output/effect. This would make it clear that the input is not to press E, but rather to hold E. The output would be less cluttered and it wouldn't look like "Redeem/Hold" is the result of pressing E — "Hold" is meant to be an input, not an output.

"[E (Hold)] Redeem" is still not clear to me. It still comes across as "either do this (hold) or this (redeem)" rather than "do this (hold) to cause this (redeem) to happen". Although I much prefer the terms "purchase" or "buy" to "redeem".

[E (Press)] would mean to press E. That's generally redundant.
[E (Hold)] would mean to hold E. We don't usually hold keys when we are told to use them, so the distinction is necessary.
The text that comes after the button should tell you what activating that input would do. You can't "Hold" an item, but you can "Hold" a button. Likewise, you can't "Redeem" a button, but you can "Redeem" a reward — how do you "Redeem" a reward? By using the "Hold E" input.
