Will you stick to one Night Market faction?

The design is to encourage players to try each faction once (as the Night Market will be available for a minimum of three times) to collect everything that you can only get on the respective faction, which includes item sets. However, I believe some people will choose to stick with one faction every time the Night Market returns, whether that's because they're unaware of the other factions (even though they completed the intro quest which has them talk to the leaders individually), want to play with their friends on a specific faction (even though it doesn't matter), prefer the NPCs or color of the faction (really bad idea to color them in the primary colors because people will associate them with the Alliance War alliance colors; should've colored them with secondary colors instead), or some other reason.

What will you do, if you participate in the Night Market at all?

For the rewards, I'll switch it for the first three and then probably go with whatever I like the most for anything afterwards.

I worry that after the first Night Market appearance, people will switch to the faction that won, and it'll always be the same outcome every time it returns.

If you want all the cosmetics/drops/dyes/etc you cannot stick to one faction. The choice is account wide currently so you also can't choose different factions for characters that fit the faction better. It's kinda the one gripe I have with the Night Market as much as I love everything else. I would love for my characters in the same season to rep the faction I'd choose for them story/rp wise, but I suppose I'm relegated to either playing different characters as my Night Market main that season or playing my main since she's more set up and just handwaving it as ooc (it's not like I haven't had to do this before).

Either way, still extremely hyped about the Night Market and counting the days.

If the whole design of the Night Market is to encourage faction swapping, then it should not have competitive rewards for getting your team in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.

After three times, people will have no reason to swap factions anymore. Then they'll jump on the same faction if the Night Market returns a 4th time to guarantee a 1st place win.

First, I'll play the faction that I find most interesting in terms of lore and design. Then I'll try the other two. Then I'll return to my favorite in terms of lore and design.

3x dyes = do all three. Easy.

Fashion is the true endgame. And while I totally should choose a faction based on the lore... the only thing I really care about for the Night Market is getting those dyes, and I'm going to be choosing them based on the order I like them.

Same. I'm hoping the base house is easy to get. Because I mainly use houses as port points, I don't care about getting more rooms, etc. And if the base house isn't easy to get, I'll just skip it.

My actual poll choice isn't quite here but this is the closest.

I have a set faction I'll choose for the first character I plan to play through this with. I know it's account bound, so I'll likely play a different character through it who will pick a different faction based on their personality on the next go arounds. Yay RPing haha.

I want all the dyes at least, and realistically I want the gold most, but the character I'm playing as first would never go Glittering Goad, so oh well, I'll save it for another time. We have other gold dyes so it's not the end of the world.

I just hope the devs make it slightly less of a punishing slogfest for the average casual player just to do the normal daily missions (not talking about bosses or the trial/dungeon/whatever)

I’ll try to get everything I want in one season of the night market and then switch to another faction the next time, but if I don’t get everythingIwant the first time I would probably play the same faction again until I do.

The house is easy to get. I unlocked it on the PTS just to see it and it’s the reward for the intro quest that explains everything about the night market. Some of the quest was a little wonky for me on the PTS, some of the quest markers didn’t seem to work right and there was a bit of running around to do but that was about it from what I can remember.

I worry that after the first Night Market appearance, people will switch to the faction that won, and it'll always be the same outcome every time it returns.

First, the "rewards" are inconsequential (which is good, because this whole "competition" thing was not well thought-out, so making the rewards as pointless as possible is good in my book), and as such I doubt anyone will be choosing a faction based on who they think will win.

Second, because people are highly encouraged to faction-swap, everyone in that winning faction won't be back in that faction the next time, so why would you think that it would win again?

Third, "winning" is mostly just a matter of population (see my point earlier about the competition being meaningless). So who the hell cares anyway.

It's impossible to tell if the same faction that wins will continue to win. Also some of us in this very thread have already expressed we feel different characters of ours belong to different factions or might even change factions over time (I can see at least three of my characters starting with one faction story/rp wise and moving to another over time). As a player, I like one faction more than the others and will probably prefer repping it but I might shake things up every now and again just to keep things fresh and because I enjoy the general dynamic of the market.

As for if you feel player preference/rp choices aren't enough incentive, ZOS could always add new faction achievements and rewards to shake up the Market competition if it feels stale (and while I hope they continue to support and add things to the Night Market regardless, I don't think the Night Market will become stale or locked to a definitive winner).

Nice idea with the factions, but as they drop different sets -- especially the monster sets -- my priority will be with those.

It is a pure coincidence that it means different factions. And that means I don't really care about the factions. The item set difference removes any care I might have for any faction. So, instead of a cool idea the factions are now an obstacle to overcome.

Getting the house just requires you to complete the Night Market introduction quest that you can pick up from the Crown Store or near the portal in the Fargrave's Shambles, no further quests are necessary after that. Access to the additional wings of the house and the built-in bank will require participating in Night Market's activities though.

I know but it depends on how many times they bring it back for us to know if we'll be able to do all the factions. IDK how many times that will end up being.

I'm not really interested in the night market at all, but since it's all we're getting and we have to meet ZOS' activity quota to get permanent releases I'll give it a go. I'll change factions so I can see more of it in the brief time it's available, and like other people said that will mean changing characters because I don't have one who would fit with all the factions.

I didn't know until now one faction could "win" or that it's supposed to matter to us, but I just want to explore the area and the lore so I don't care if 1/3 of players get some extra thingy when it's removed.

I'm not very familiar yet with how the Night Market is going to work, but if the current plan is to have it return at least twice so players can collect the rewards from all three factions, then I'd want to play it as a different faction each time to get as many of the rewards as I can. And if I don't feel like my main character "fits in" very well with a particular faction then I might use an alt to play as that faction, choosing whichever alt feels like the best fit.
