Disgusted of flying pets and twilights and players apathy

On second thought that flying dragon covering Lyris as I was talking to her looks better than her. /joke
Well at least ZOS is starting to address the problem that doesn't exist. ;)
Other players’ non-combat pets will no longer block your view in certain interactions, such as while using Outfit Stations.

Yeah maybe for you, it's not a problem. Do a quick forum search "pets blocking crafting" and you'll see exactly how much of a "non-issue" this has been over the years for many players. And like I posted before, the FACT that there are already add-ons addressing this specific issue proves your ignorance of the topic.

    Have a nice day.

    Answer me this question:

What different programming is my game running on where pets for me are non obstructive and I can still target stations through pets, but so many other people are playing with different game design where pets obstruct things and cannot be moved through or targeted through?

Add ons mean nothing. There are add ons to add notifications that the game already gives you.

What do you LOSE if people had the option to hide another players pets?

What do you LOSE if people had the option to hide another players pets?

That's hardly what is being suggested.

Making pets illegal in town, unsummonable, putting sorc pets on timers, etc. is not suggesting an option to hide player pets.

I don't disagree that pets should be hidden from view when you're in an outfit station or inventory or crafting station or something. In those views you shouldn't see other pets or players or really anything else floating around.

But simply an option to hide them from view is not what is being suggested.

What is being suggested are mechanics that fundamentally alter how pet players play the game, all for an "issue" that does not exist in the first place because you can target through or move through pets 100% of the time to get to the stations that you need, and claims in this thread and others that players having their pets out is apathy and griefing.

But again, I ask the question:

What game design mechanic is seemingly unique in my game files that allows me to target through pets and move through pets that is not present in anyone else's game design which prevents them from the same basic game mechanics that I have and necessitates this conversation in the first place?

Q: How many places in eso world can you craft?

    A: A lot.

If it is so bad in one tiny area...can you just go to another town temporarily.

Or you can just put your pet away just as easily.

Just as easily as not dueling by a wayshrine, or in or near a bank or crafting centre.

I've been irritated by dueling a good many times, but by pets? Not once since launch.

What you'll see is a number of threads where a few people have said they have a problem with this, and most people say they don't have any problem with it at all.

As for add-ons for this, they're the same as add-ons for everything else. There's a reason that ZOS don't show on the map where all the skyshards and lorebooks are, and it's not dissimilar to the reason they don't disable pets outside of combat. Add-ons are a convenience for a minority of players, neither more nor less than that. What's that you say? A minority? Two-thirds of players don't even have access to them.

    @amm7sb14_ESO

The bear is more than capable of blocking crafting tables / turn in boxes. And yes, it can be positioned in a way that makes the item un-touchable. It is rare, but still possible. Just because you haven't seen it, does not disprove the issue can exist.

There have been multiple ideas floated, from outright killing the pet near crafting areas (a bit harsh) to just making them poof.
Mine was just another idea that has been floated before and is being reiterated.

Even if it was a forced de-summon near crafting areas, what is lost? There is literally nothing worth fighting in the crafting areas.

And if we are talking about vanity pets, then there is even less reason to have them floating around if people find them annoying.

TL:DR While rare, the combat pets can be a pain when crafting. With no imminent danger in the crafting areas, why should that pain point not be removed?
Oh another idea, button that lets you punt a friendly player pet a certain distance. Fun for the whole family!

yeah the devs have cleared demonstrated they care nothing for their players so the pets in crafting station problem still continues on. And even players don't care about other players, I constantly ask people to please put their twilights away but they are so inconsiderate towards others and just ignore everyone else.

In over six years of playing this game for more hours per week than anyone should play gaming, it has been such a rare occurrence that someone's pets have interfered with my gameplay that I can see why the devs have not done anything about this. It is not a big issue.

Its not even not a big issue, it is literally a non existent issue.

I was doing writs today. Someone had their pets out in front of the writ board. I was still able to target the writ board *through* the pet, because even tho the pet was blocking the board, it is not actually an obstruction.

I can't tell you how many times I've been to crowded banks, crafting stations, outfit stations, so crowded you can't even see the station or the banker... and yet I can still target it. Everytime. Because pets and other players are non obstructive.

This is literally a 100% non-issue, and that is why I continue to make posts against it, because as was said above, the proposed solutions to the non-issue are more harmful than the issue that doesn't exist in the first place.

Exactly. The rare occasion I see it happen, and usually resolve it by taking a step or two, I realize this is what these threads are discussing and how rare it is.

My guess is we tend to focus on what annoys us and for some this is it, or they have bad RNG.

The only annoying thing I ever experienced concerning pets is when they used to de-summon automatically, and reliably, every time we went through a door. I used pets leveling up my first sorc back in 2014 and you go through doors often when question. Zos did recognize that was an issue and fixed it years ago.

I find it cute that people have pets following them around so I don't mind them.

However, as a priest of the Aedra, I cannot allow Daedric abominations to enter our cities. They are a disgrace and should be banished from Nirn.

I don’t want to argue against a personal RP choice (I think RP is great). But the npcs in ESO generally don’t have the same opinion.

On the AD side there are at least two quests where npcs summon deadra in major cities with little commotion from its citizens.

On the EP side in stonefall, atrinochs (a form of deadra) play a major roll in the story line.

And on the DC side, the high king tolerates Deadra worship. In fact it plays a major roll in a zone’s story line.

They won't turn off pets and non-combat pets, as those are class based and bought in the store. So they want players to show them off.

They should turn them off visually when we are in the merchant/banker/crafting windows though.

Outfit station. Don't forget outfit station. Can't really see my armor with a winged thing in my way.

With all the new flying vanity pets being created, this issue is only going to be more and more irritating.

It feels like every time i try to talk to an NPC, i have a flying pet of some sort in between the camera and the NPC's face. it seems like a quick fix is to hide pets like PC characters are hidden when in conversations with an NPC.

Also, the Warden bear clips activators. every time i go to craft something, someone has parked their bear ontop of a crafting station and i can't activate the station. again, why can't these be non-clipping like PC characters?

I don't want to take anybodies fun away, and the artwork on these are beautiful, but when it interferes with gameplay, it really needs to be addressed.

    Thanks.

Pets should be untargetable. They're a nuisance in pvp and certain sets that spawn pets are being used by players taking advantage of targeting issues as mitigation. It's honestly absurd that this issue has been around as long as it has.

The inconsistency of necro pets giving a bounty and drawing agro and daedra pets just floating around like it's no big deal is also pretty stupid.

I actually had to port to a different zone one time to turn in half my writs because a warden bear was in the way. Tried going into first person and every different angle imaginable and nothing worked.

These sorcerer flying pets are cussing nothing but hatred towards them and their owners. They are constantly in the view on my screen and they are the single most annoying thing in the game. ZoS neds to do something because I am disliking the players because of these stupid flying pets. I actively now will not group with anyone with one as they obstuct everyone's views. They amount of people that dislike them is huge and now we are disliking the players that use them. That can't be right! Sort it out please. Let us players who don't use those stupid things remove them from our screens. I hate those flying pets.
