Daily Rewards help newer players. What needs to be done is giving something the veterans find useful - having a choice out of 3 every day would accomplish both.
The wheel doesn't need re-inventing it just needs changing from a wooden cart wheel to something with some rubber on it.
If they need other login incentives outside of actual gameplay (releases, events, whatever), then perhaps the game isn't as fun as it should be. They should take that as an opportunity to review and address the lack of fun. Why put things in daily rewards when you can make the systems involved less painful - horse training, item research. Outside of revenue, I guess.
And if they're struggling to make even the daily rewards rewarding, then yeah, just remove it. One less thing to mess up or have people complain about.
In some ways I'd rather keep the daily rewards and get rid of the golden pursuits and endeavours, which obviously isn't going to happen.
I say that simply because the daily logins sometimes are useful, sometimes aren't, but they're always simple to handle and are never time consuming, while I find the golden pursuits and endeavours are a significant distraction from actually playing the game.

Yet another month that has absolutely nothing of value or interest. It's kind of outright junk at this point, most of it might as well be destroyed after it lands in my inventory. And with no bigger rewards towards the end, there is no need to bother to login every single day. Ergo, there is no need to bother with this little sticker book whatsoever.
I also got to say, the more low value those items look, the more those kinds of rewards remind me of some korean MMO slops. Where you open the game and get multiple tabs of daily rewards and all of them are the most useless nonsense made to fill up your inventory, overwhelm you, and make you think you might be missing out on something when you really aren't. I'd rather prefer to not have daily rewards at all, than have something that brings forth such associations.

Your a bit out of the loop it seems. Daily login rewards are gone after March 9th.
