The reasons I buy ESO+ (most strong reason to least strong reason): increased furnishing slots, ESO+ crown store exclusives/pricing, to get crowns, to dye outfits.

When I was a constant subscriber the reasons were (in no particular order): support the game and access to DLC dungeons. I started off playing with ESO+ so I really can’t comment on if craft bag would’ve been important to me then. At current, I have thousands of mats in my craft bag from previous years of being a subscriber and I have a very hands-off system of dealing with materials without ESO+.

I am on the fence about this. I like all the perks, but if the biggest perk was devalued I'd expect a much lower monthly fee. And I'd be concerned about the loss of revenue hurting the game.

ESO+ should be a pass to DLC, cosmetic only things, and if we’re being honest the small increase to XP gain and Archival Fortunes are not a problem.

Inventory management is a nightmare without the craft bag, enough so that people just will not play, and keep in mind, just because someone won’t sub, doesn’t mean they won’t engage with the Crown Store or by the new Season Passes.

I also find a poll like this to be in a vacuum, the people who were scared away from the game by a full inventory are not the same people who would stop by their forum.

I can't answer this because I am not subscribed now even with the craft bag.

I am completely disillusioned by the announcements for future content so I am not motivated to even play much let alone pay a sub I'm not using.

My answer would probably be Yes if I was feeling better about the game since I generally support games I have fun with.

I really feel that ESO plus has been devalued this past year. From the dungeon thing to all the dlc going to be included in the base game. I think instead of worrying about the craft bag we should be pushing them to make ESO plus more attractive. I know, I know. They put out an article saying ESO plus is now even more worth it. Cause now you get higher transmutes. And you can put off your leads for a whole year. Please. I guess a free premium season whatever is cool once a year but we should be pushing them for ESO plus to get the premium version included. Add more value.
Without the craft bag I would sub for the dungeons until they go base game. The housing slots. The bank space and also supporting a game I enjoy. Though with all the monetization they make it a bit difficult sometimes.

I've long-ago learned how to efficiently manage my crafting supplies without the bag so at this point it's moot. They could do away with it entirely and I wouldn't even notice.

It depends on what you mean by a version. If it was the craft bag as is, then no, I wouldn't subscribe. If it was a limited form of the craft bag, it would depend on what that looked like.

With the removal of content provided with eso plus, the only thing of any value is the inventory management. Zos can never separate inventory management as subscriptions would plummet and they know it.

The only way to separate the two would be to reinvent plus and make it a crown store game such as 4 crates included per month, seals of endeavor allotment, larger crown allotment. Heavy leaning into the cosmetics side, imo.

Well, techically I can't, but if I could - I'd buy ESO+ for housing limits.

However, this would be much less regularly. Craft bag is useful every day of playing, but I do not decorate houses beyond limits every day and even every month. I change costumes colors even less often and don't care about experience and other things. Crowns can be bought (again, if I techically could) directly. And I have all DLC bought.

So with craft bag it would be 12 months of ESO+ a year, without - 2-3 times a year.

My sub is primarily dependent on quality content consisting of good main story questing and exploration. If that is not present, the craft bag is irrelevant. I do not mind subbing to support a game that provides enjoyable content to do, the craft bag is just a nice bonus perk.

    I wouldn't, but that's because there's nothing I value tied to an eso+ subscription.

I have subscribed for a long time in the past, just for the craft bag, but only because it was mandatory to actually enjoy playing the game instead of managing inventory all the time. None of those payments have ever made me feel happy.

For comparison, I've been playing GW2 for most of 2025. They don't have an "optional" subscription, but I enjoy playing the game and being an ArenaNet customer. As a result, I've spent a little bit more in their cash shop than I would have paying for eso+, and every single one of those purchases I've done with a smile.

Craft bag aside, what is ESO+ supposed to provide?

Whatever that is, that has to be the thing people are willing to pay for.

I mean unless you're just donating money to charity, there has to be a thing you're subscribing for.

Whether I would still subscribe to ESO is not the question, whether I would still play ESO is the question. After all the decisions that began with AwA in U33 I suspect that it would finally be one change too far for me.

I was maybe for the furnishings and costume dyes, but I just remembered I would still be over my bank limit without ESO+ even for non craft mats.

I only subscribe occasionally (like 1-2 months a year) but when I do it's usually not for the craft bag. It's some mix of it being the most cost-effective way to get the amount of crowns I want and wanting access to costume dying, extra furnishing slots outside of the free trials, or sometimes because I want the free item and/or crown store discounts. (Access to DLC has never been relevant for me because I always bought the DLC I wanted, and the other benfits are irrelevant.)

Obviously I do dump stuff into the craft bag when I have the opportunity, but I have a system to manage it outside of that so it's never been something I felt like I needed, more just a bonus.

As long as they keep posting on the forums there's a chance they start playing and financially supporting the game again. Personally I consider that a good thing.

In this particular case, as a longtime MMO player, I have a personal policy: I play one MMO, and only one MMO, and while I am playing that MMO, I will subscribe and/or buy all non-cosmetic content (add on packs, dungeons, whatever) because I despise having to figure out what I own and what I don't, whether I can do something or not, in an MMO world.

If the subscription became so devalued that I felt mistreated as a customer... I'd quit. Otherwise I'm probably good with anything.

If a craft bag with limits is released at no cost, and the subscription one is unlimited, great. I've been around forever and I need it. If the craft bag is broken out as free for everyone... fantastic. If it's broken out as a separate mini subscription or one time purchase, I'd buy it. For me, all they'd have to do is make up the value with crowns in the subscription and I'd be equally happy. <shrug>

I'm hoping that most or all paid content in the future that's not cosmetic gets tied to the subscription, and if they go that route, at some point the craft bag will no longer be the main event of the sub, which I'm sure is something they'd like to solve!
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

I would still need the double housing/bank/bag limits, access to DLC dungeons, and crowns.

However, since the craft bag IS a big part of subscription, I would expect them to add something equally worthwhile as a substitute if they ever decide to make it free to avoid devaluing subscription even further. And by that something I do not mean purely cosmetic items, but something making the gameplay more convenient or giving access to something that is otherwise is not available for free. No idea what that could be.

If they would offer a Furniture Crafting Station I may find that a worthwhile substitute. But then that should be for everyone.

Maybe the ability to deconstruct furnishings.

I would not say that a Furniture Crafting Station would provide the same relief for the gameplay as the craft bag does. So, to me, it would not be a comparable substitute. Though I would not oppose it as a QoL addition to the game.
