Achievements were a way to keep track on what you're alt has done and what content still could be done. If you're not into alts it won't matter, but it greatly reduced the replayability of the game.

The loss of my lightning bolt for a shovel was a game changer.
To me ESO has gone downhill from there and the pinnacle of course is the loss of class identity that subclassing will bring.
I don't know where I will go from here but what I thought was in my future is gone.
