    Given that achievements in video games do not have any meaningful value to me, I’d say subclassing. Account-wide achievements didn’t bother me, nor did they make it worthless to play on other characters. It just made achievements more streamlined. This new pseudo-multiclassing system is a mess, though.

    Achievements were a way to keep track on what you're alt has done and what content still could be done. If you're not into alts it won't matter, but it greatly reduced the replayability of the game.

    Yeah, I liked having to earn the achievements again with each character. I felt AwA was more for the lazy gamer who prefers a one-and-done kind of game. I dislike how level 50+ and CP works for the same reason - just jumping to the same level as your highest character is just cheap and lazy in my book..

    The little sound when you unlock an achievement is always very satisfying ^^

    1. AWA - forcing all delves, incursions and WBs to show as somehow completed on all alts, making map comp pointless. They also removed the xp from completing these (you got xp from the achievement). They also made the dungeon slayer achievements pointless. AWA should've tracked completion individually, but also be an account wide feature, and then people could've had their alt trifectas etc still accessible in a meaningful way. (Should've showed character A as the first completer of achievement X, but character B can still earn it and have their name added to the list of characters who also completed that achievement.)

    2. Vampire changes... Just super lame.

    1 - Hybridization. This completely killed the magicka builds, it also killed the possibility of using a light armor set on the body.

    3 - Successive patches where they killed vampirism even more. Zenimax doesn't know how to mess with vampirism, because today it's not worth living using it at all, it's much more of a roleplay thing.

    The AWA cured any motivation to make an alt. And U35 broke something in me.

    The loss of my lightning bolt for a shovel was a game changer.

    To me ESO has gone downhill from there and the pinnacle of course is the loss of class identity that subclassing will bring.

    I don't know where I will go from here but what I thought was in my future is gone.

    Ten years a sub and this is first time I will not do it.

    Between vengeance mode and subclassing I'm really worried about the future of ESO. These two changes alone will likely drive me from the game as I have been very upset with ZOS as a company after U35 and their neglect for maintaining PvP and their likely "fix" being to replace the PvP system with something new rather than fixing the system they've told us "They're working on it!" for well over 5 years. Instead of fixing the PvP system we've been playing for years ZOS is focusing on a new wildly stripped down version. I just can't support the direction ZOS is going for PvP or PvE these days. So we'll see I guess. ESO has been my favorite game for a decade no contest. But it's looking like it's almost time to move on.

    The only one I had an issue with was the introduction of the new CP system (when all the green passives suddenly became slottable).

    Not having sets proc off each other any more was also a shame but at least understandable for performance.

    I actually LIKED account wide achievements -- it encouraged me to try new characters when I never would have done before.

    By far one of the most annoying updates to date, whose effects still annoy me to this day. Not enough to stop playing, but tracking progression per-character has become irksome. I feel the pain of it even more than I did back when I first objected to it, because now I'm doing endgame PVE and PVP, and I wish I could re-do those achievements on more than one character.

    1. Account wide achievements - Truly hate it. It removed the magic of exploring and finding things.
    2. Gear unlocks. Yes I know, an unpopular choice. But for me, it removed much of the need for player engagement.

    It reduced the need to run dungeons once players have what they need. I would have preferred it being character, not account.

    3. Subclassing - its a no brainer that we are going to end up with 100% uptime of cookie-cutter meta.

    Subclassing should be specific to the class. That's the definition of Sub-class. e.g. A mage would have a sub-class of warlock or wizard. Not a templar or dragonkight. That's just lazy game design. ESO have become very lazy when they started to run out of new ideas and simple slapped a new skin on an existing asset. Mounts anyone?

    Tamriel unlimited doesn't count. They fixed it. You always start either in Wailing Prison or your Faction starter zone.

    Stuff that got fixed should not be on this list.

    I agree with account achievements being a bad idea.

    The most expensive mounts in the game have such ludicrous explosive summoning I don't ever want one.

    DLC Delve bosses with 1 million+ hit points and turned into mini-World bosses

    Harrowstorms, Dragons, and everything like them as we went from Dolmens - which Can be soloed to monstrosities that can not. Once the zone has had it's initial opening and it becomes a ghost town, you have to Hope their might be enough other players in the area if you want to achieve these.

    Never expanding on the variety of Classic housing and always Only adding new housing that costs 12,000 credits or more

    You still can start quest in another faction, after tutorial.
    A tutorial is a tutorial, it's not a fix.

    Tamriel Unlimited is exactly that, there are no more limits, everyone can go wherever they want, in terms of RP it's a disaster.
    But everyone is free to respect this or not, if they wish.
    Before Tamriel Unlimited, the wayside shrines in other alliance zones weren't even available until you completed the main quest. It actually made sense.

    One Tamriel is the result of smoothing out the levels across all of Tamriel. Previously, each zone was leveled, a level 10 character would be one-shotted by a level 40 mudcrab; it wasn't possible to rush through zones too quickly.
    On the other hand, the power of a level 50 character was too great compared to the starting zones.

    The OneTamriel + Tamriel Unlimited combination is what we have today.
    I have nothing against One Tamriel; it's Tamriel Unlimited that bothers me.

    1. ZOS adding un-necessary power-creep with CP rework (adding 1k wpn/spell dmg), hybridization, scribing and now subclassing

    P.S, account wide achievement was a good decision, was a pain having to redo trifectas because someone in your trial group didn´t get the achievement on their main character. The entire "replayability" was still there after they changed it. The content doesn´t get less replayable just because an icon doesn´t pop up on your screen when you complete something.

    These were all before my time, but that vampire one sounds like it was fun. My vampire has the set item that creates a swarm of bats when she kills someone, but having an ultimate in a swarm of bats sounds a ton of fun.

    Not even as a whole, just the enforced "first does it means no one else can" so you can't use it to keep track of character milestones, as I used to. Destroys alt RP.

    I haven't played in quite a while so my list might be outdated. I check the game every so often and it's quite disappointing to see they've not only ignored such issues, but in fact have often worsened the situation.

    1. Game moving from having to manage resources and build for sustain to sustain being a non-issue and damage being the only consideration.
    2. Cutting down class uniqueness and replacing it with bloated mess of 5 piece set effects that also killed Cyrodiil performance
    3. The removal of Stam and Magicka versions of classes. Effectively cut the number of classes in half. I'm really unsure what multiclassing is trying to achieve, I guess we'll see.

    @Snamyap, I don’t mind alts at all. I’ve just never really cared about achievements, in ESO or on any other platform.

    If tracking that kind of progress across characters adds to your enjoyment, then that’s completely valid. But for me, the sense of satisfaction others describe when unlocking a Steam achievement or PSN trophy simply isn’t something I experience. So while account-wide achievements may have reduced replayability for some, they didn’t impact how I engage with the game.

    Subclassing (or more precisely, multiclassing) on the other hand, does affect my play experience. That is because it reshapes class identity and build design at a structural level. That’s where my concern lies.

    I have not required any new equipment for years.

    I am not a hardcore gamer, yet I occasionally find the game excessively easy.

    Oh, it's petty, but I wish you could just skip the main story after doing it once.

    There are homes in the game that are only $50 cheaper than my first car. LOL

    1. AwA - I left with this/uninstalled the game and was gone for over a year due to this change. I attempted to come back and the game has never felt the same and a lot of that is due to how I played/replayed the game with different characters.

    Subclassing will hit the list if it goes live. They were never able to even balance pet sorcs vs non-pet sorcs in the before times and they clearly certainly won't be able to now. I have no faith that anything will be balanced and have no interest in being forced to subclass just to be viable in the content I was already able to clear. We've already seen nerfs to staple skills because of combo power between classes and that's just week 1 of PTS.

    The idea of subclassing is interesting (or multi-classing, if they had actually called it what it was) but my faith is eroded in their capabilities of any semblance of balance so there is not a single part of me that believes it will be a benefit to the community as a whole. Was making class change tokens honestly that much harder, programming wise, than whatever this is going to be?
