[SUGGESTION] Add Option To Make Player Use Emotes During Storyline / Quest Events

Like kneeling before a king/queen, or saluting alongside fighter's guild NPCs. It could be a simple implementation, as simple as checking if the player is standing still, and emoting just as if the player type /salute.

I think this would help with immersion, what do you guys think?

They could just be like optional step "stand place x," to have the character emote. That way it would be easy to opt in or out.

Make it optional, please. Maybe my character prefers not to kneel in front of King Emeric while listening to him, but to sit on his throne.

I like to include different levels of roleplay when I interact with the environment and do quests, especially if I like the story/characters :)

    Murkmire main story huge spoiler:

I loved both main characters, so no matter the choice I would be very sad. My character got dressed in her fanciest costume for the ceremony, walked slowly around the place and used /cry and /pray emotes :'(

I still hope to see the tribe return to life together with Jaxsik-Orrn. She might not be the same character again, but some hint about the rebirth could be awesome!

Tales of Tribute main story funny spoiler (High Isle):

Molag Bal is drinking from skull... This celebration is only missing Sanguine :D I wish we got his polymorph as well, and ability to apply it to our Companion for extra spicy atmosphere.

Can you not use the emote yourself when appropriate? More player control is better than in-game scripting, I think

You can do this yourself if you want to.

I'd prefer them not to require it, because my characters would react very differently in the same situations - for example one might kneel to King Emeric but another wouldn't want anyone thinking they recognise his authority or respect him.

If players want to kneel or salute or anything else they can do that now. There is no reason to make it a feature.

Would make the quests feel a bit more immersive IMO.

I know someone above stated they'd completely disrespect a royal and sit on their throne during interactions, but I fail to see how such a scene would make any sense.

People generally are required to show decorum to royalties whether they are a member of the country or not, and would be escorted out upon disrespecting them.

I think as long as your character has the option to be good/evil/neutral in their interactions, this would be fun. Especially if your character not kneeling caused some offence and changed how the story turns out. I'd love that, it would make it fun doing the quests on alts who had different alignments!

I also think this could be a good way to teach new players about emotes.

I like this idea, and the way I'd like to see it implemented is quest dialogue options that have stage directions in brackets beside what you're choosing to say. Something like if your options were:
    • It was my pleasure, your majesty. [emote: bow flourish]
    • Of course, sir! [emote: salute]
    • You're welcome. [emote: none]

Yes, I'd love to see it causing an actual reaction. It would be even better if it took into account the status of the player character. Some random person's disrespect would certainly be deemed unacceptable. But if it's the Hero of Coldharbour and Saviour of Tamriel who was called for help? Just as unacceptable, but the reaction would probably still be different... I think it would be interesting and fun to see what happens (and I hope that the new dialogue option system they've announced to introduce will lead to something like this - although I'm still wary how complex or not it will get).

If they did it like this it could be interesting, since it would both get a reaction from NPCs and accomodate different character's personalities and attitudes.

The new Assassin's Creed has some things like this.
If you'e playing as Naoe (a shinobi) and guards see you with your weapon out they'll attack, if you're playing Yasuke (a samurai) they'll ask you to put it away, and sometimes thank you for doing it in a tone which implies they're very relieved they don't have to fight you.

I was going to say it's probably easier to set up when it's tied to the character, but there are already NPCs who will react to things the player character has done. Usually just commenting on it, but I think very occasionally it gives you extra dialogue options, so they probably could set something like this up too.

Yes, there are some NPCs where you get extra dialogue options during one quest if you've already completed another quest. Most of the time it's when it's a recurring NPC who you could have met in a quest from the base game or an earlier DLC, but sometimes it's just when you've done something relevant to what you're talking with the NPC about (something along the lines of "Actually, I've met Molag Bal"), so it's certainly possible.
