May the force be with you!!Sure has gotten quiet on this thread. I really wish others would install the addon and keep tabs on their connections. It really helps them see where things are going wrong or not.
Let us know how it goes for you tonight!

Yeah thread has died down a bit. I'm curious if that is because people aren't having as much issues or if they gave up. Hopefully the first one. Will post how it goes.
For me the issues remain dismal on both servers. With nothing left to contribute but to wait for either an eventual solution or my patience to run out.

Windows users only:
I downloaded winMTR from sourceforge, wrapped it with a couple of scripts, and uploaded it to ESOUI as an addon. It doesn't integrate with the game at all in-game, but it does make it as simple as I could to install/run.
https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info4058-WinMTRwrapperforESOconnectiondebugging.html
Here I am pinging the NA datacenter.
The number I have circled is packetloss. If this is non-zero, or more than a few packets per hour, you would change MTR over to the pinging the google IP 8.8.8.8. Packetloss to google indicates a problem with your ISP or your connection to the ISP.
CAVEAT - IGNORE ping times for all the routers inline that have really high ping times. Routers respond to ICMP packets with the lowest priority in their CPUs. If they are running heaviliy loaded, they will not respond quickly or at all to ICMP, and may be false positively reported as slow or with lots of packet loss.
see below for a good explanation of why this is the case

I won't speak for everyone, but I've stopped writing because it simply makes no sense. When information about constant DDoS attacks appeared, we just returned to where we started. We are now in a position where it seems like not all of the thread's problems were attributed to DDoS, but DDoS was introduced as a variable mentioned in the end-of-year summary letter. I don't remember anything being said about solving problems with crashes beyond DDoS. Correct me if I'm wrong.
We waited a long time just for a survey describing our problems. And here's my experience: when I told my guild that there was such a survey, and that you could describe problems there, which might help the developers, I got responses that I was too naive, that it was pointless, and that they wouldn’t do anything anyway, so spending time on such a survey was just stupid. I don't know if the survey is completed, but no results have been posted here. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.
Essentially, the crashes remain. The attitude towards them has changed. I'm now with those who think that nothing will change, no matter how much we write here. I canceled my subscription and am gradually playing less and less.
Oh yes, about the ping. I've written in this thread long ago that packet loss in today's internet is normal. Network code should be written in such a way that minor packet losses are not noticeable. Some games maintain a connection even during a short-term complete loss of connection. In ESO, however, I sometimes realize that I will be disconnected within the next 30 seconds, even when there is definitely a connection, literally with a stream running. And this is not to mention that I constantly ping Google's server just to see the ping there. ESO disconnects under any conditions, even when there are no dips in internet speed or ping. I remind you, people came here with many reports and analyses about where problems begin if you trace the packet's path, not just the metrics.

I keep tabs on this post but usually only post when it gets obscenely bad - like today!
Things really haven't changed much. Some days the game runs just fine and I can happily play unimpeded. Other days it's a real struggle. I started playing again a couple weeks before Midyear Mayhem and everything seemed pretty great most nights! But by about the second week of the event everything felt like it took a severe nosedive like literally overnight. Last night and today have been especially bad for me.
These last two days I can barely tell what the hell is even happening due to the amount my client desyncs from the server. I have no idea if my skills are firing or not, I have no idea if my opponents are attacking or defending, I often try to help allies only to see them rubberband back tweenty feet and suddenly unalive. I've kind of just given up pretty much anything that doesn't involve at least twenty other people and siege because I actually feel completely useless in a fight right now.

Wasn't able to log on yesterday (IRL) to see what my experience is like but hopefully things settle down a bit now that U45 has landed.

Not any better for me after the update. Same latency spikes, abilities not going off, and pauses during combat causing rubberbanding.
Edited to add: Honestly it's kinda worse than it was before the update. 🙁

Are you disconnecting more or just more of the skills not firing and spikes?

Disconnected once earlier and then the rest of the time skills not firing and spikes.
Anytime ZOS activates their protection thing to prevent attack from bad actors there seems to be an absurd amount of latency for literal days.
For example 6th of March (Thursday) they announced that they were activating this protection thing to prevent bad actors and today is a Wednesday 3/12 and I am still getting ridiculous spikes. And no, it has nothing to do with my internet speed. I have played this game for 4 years and had no issues what so ever until the last couple months. Raiding has become almost impossible.
Is this the new norm? Should I just spend weeks upon weeks lagging my brains out? Maybe at this point I should just learn my lesson.

And yet every time an attack causes an absurd amount of latency it only affects certain players, seemingly the same players each time, almost certainly a comparatively small number of players, while everyone else carries on with flawless (or for some at least adequate) performance as usual. It's a very strange situation so I'm not surprised it is proving so difficult to pin down.

constantly getting disconnected from the game servers doing the new dungeons. sorta frustrating.

This to me screams of packetloss. Can I make a suggestion - it's frustrating I know - but when you notice everything stops moving you need to STOP moving and STOP casting. I don't know the technicals behind it but to me I noticed when the game stops I need to stop sending comands to the server. If I overload the flow while the client isn't talking with the server that is when I get kicked.
Take yo hands off the MK/Controller and wait. Once things catch up then go back to what you were doing.
Again, I know it's annoying... but what is more annoying is getting kicked.

yeah, sometimes it recovers into rubberbanding, or it doesn't recover at all, and its just a disconnect.
I'm sure a lot of people stopped posting because we've been posting stuff for months, but no change in outcome, so gave up. i was gonna give up posting in this thread, since I don't think its gonna change anything even if I post video of lag/rubberbanding and disconnects coming out of no where. but just to keep it going posted the most recent disconnect for myself.
While I appreciate the positivity, this has been complained about for years now. Years. My patience has grown as thin as the excuses.
