This would make no difference to gold sellers, instead they would farm crafting mats more (which they already do) and focus on selling them for real money. You'd be replacing gold sellers with mat sellers.
I don't mind gold sellers/buyers because they literally don't affect me at all. On the other hand, I don't craft so I need to buy stuff from other players. If people are willing to give all that for free, though, go ahead, remove gold from the game.

Just a thought...what would happen if they just take gold out of the game completely? Make it so that all things must be crafted. This would mean that you could no longer buy anything. No gold=No gold sellers? Come to think of it...the only time, and I mean ONLY time I spend money is to fix my armor. Thoughts?
They would become commodity sellers, selling the best gear/upgrade mats/anything else that's valuable instead of gold sellers. Trust me, they would still exist all you'd be doing is changing the currency they use.
See DIABLO 2 for evidence of this.

You can't remove trading, because that's how MMO becomes Single player game. In single player, you can obtain every item, intended in game for a player, in MMO there is "luck" aspect too, somebody might be luckier then you and have an item, you dying to have, if there is no trade - how would you get it ?!

The "luck" aspect, I was talking about - you might have missed it.
Knottypine wrote: »Ok then... speaking about gold sellers... Why don't they just go after the gold sellers websites? They advertise them all the time, it would be easy to track down the owners. I'm sure they are breaking the TOS of the hosting providers somehow! lol
From quests and other activities (ie dark anchors, dungeons etc) and perhaps some achievements, have the gathering of some form of Recognition Tokens that will allow the player to head to the city and use them on the alliance armory and purchase gear according to his/her class that is bound on character or bound on account.

(like how do they get the goods to a user - not possible)
this will reduce a good chunk of them over the long haul
then what we need is a Auction house and guild stores

I believe this is called a "single player game" when this happens..

Umm just to make sure everyone understands what a single player game is...it's when you play a game and no other players are there...it doesnt have anything to do with money or trading...

Trading is part of the mmo experience, you're pretty much advocating that they make this less mmo and more like a single player game. That was the point he was making.
It's actually worse. Single player games have money. I understand getting rid of money or trading, wrong headed though it may be, but eliminating both breaks the game.Arsenic_Touch wrote: »ez2k.stoobzzub17_ESO wrote: »

You couldn't just craft anything you wanted. What about consumables like soul gems or rare motifs. What about the research system, that requires you to find the existing trait on an item first, take time to research, then have the given gem to craft one. Without being able to get help with mats from fellow players, or even gold to buy things like racial items from vendors, you're reduce to grinding for stuff. While your sub time ticks away I might add. The only other option is to gut the crafting system til it's select ore, click and make.
Think carefully about the big picture, and how game elements are designed to work together.
In my guild someone who's looking for a trait can get someone else who has it to make them a low level one to research. That's what I'm talking about. Also, nice of you to offer to give be trait gems, but since you're talking about eliminating trading, the offer doesn't make any sense. And you're talking to someone who doesn't rush through the game, and is also subbed for six months. But I also know people play the game in different ways. I repeat, you have to consider the big picture.ez2k.stoobzzub17_ESO wrote: »driosketch wrote: »It's actually worse. Single player games have money. I have never bought a soul gem...didnt even know you could lol
Motifs...I have all the regular ones and I will find the rare ones in the months to come
Research...seems to me like cheating when you just buy it instead of finding it legit
Trait gems are not hard to find...Ill give you some lol
I dont want to rush through the game. I dont care about my sub time ticking away.

I've been saying this for such a long time. I'm not going to say it all again as anyone can look back on my posts. All they have to do is add a bound currency that's earn through quests and dailies and that would be used for buying horses and stuff. Make gold still there but devalue it to the point that anyone can earn thousands a day for reps and feed. Make all tempers and Motifs, bound, increase the drop rate of said items, gold sellers are gone, players of ESO rejoice!
They wont do any of this though because they are either incompetent or in league with them because lets face it, a sub is a sub!

Also, no restrictions on crafting so everyone can make what they need.
What's left? Actually playing Elder Scrolls Online, the game.
Yea, repairing your gear could just be...walk up to the anvil and that takes you to some mini game, how well you do=how much gear you repair. I dont know, Im just saying there is always a different way to do something. I just want to play...
