What is the intended counterplay to "ball groups" in PVP?

Almost nothing you can do, cuz BG will adapt to anything, but others may suffer a lot if you nerf something.

The only way to make BGs balanced is to remove all proc sets, like it was in non cp campaing. Ball groups were dying left and right in that campaign, sometimes even from zerg.

But some genius at ZOS decided to bury this campaign and added proc sets there for unknown reason. Now this campaign is even deader than a graveyard.

Number 1 problem : ball group.
    Number 2 : lag.

Not sure who greenlit the concept that sets should play the game for you.....then zos wonders why their game which was praised for its combat is dying. It was disappointing that zos didnt even understand the concept of people wanting a proc free campaign. When 99% of players use the word "proc" it means a set like tarnished or vipers...... but zos thought we meant sets like clever alchemist.

Honestly those probably are not mutually exclusive. Should be no surprise that 12 people stacking 12x of every buff in the game spamming aoes could cause performance issues. Either cut down on stacking, or how many buffs, or the aoes. Zos has gone years power creeping every skill in the game to the point where most damage skills have 2-3 additional buffs or effects on them.

    Old game:
12 players casting 1x single target skills, maybe a dot or aoe every now and then.
    Current
12 players casting 1x AOE that hits 10 players and does 3 effects that is also a dot over 20s that can stack with other dots, that does status effects that does an affect and another dot which procs a set that can stack 3 times doing another dot.................... At what point can we have a damage skill that just does plain damage?

to be honest ball groups in its current state is bad for the game. only counter play is a better ball group but they dont fight each other. organized groups used to take skill but stacking 100 heals and being immune to snare/roots from snow treads has made them immune to anyone but other ball groups. zos needs to nerf them

Even just the fact that the best sets in the game are ball group sets. Rallying, Olorime, moth for example. What ever happened to sets that boost solo players in solo scenarios? Like old fury, it was really only strong when out numbered or against a crit build. It simply didnt work in ball group or zerg scenarios.

Seems like a no brainer why new and average players arent soloing these days...... there is fundamentally no way for them to try.
