Yep. I really hope people are tempering their expectations for what's to come. As much as I want it to be some amazing addition to PvP, it's very likely not going to be some groundbreaking inclusion that has any depth.
PvP has needed a proper content update for like 4 years now and not just mythic items or new gear sets.
