Ohw come on... basically every balance update we ever had was/is because of PvP, and ZOS has spent years and many resources trying to fix the Cyrodiil issues. With Morrowind they released battlegrounds. They wouldn't have done all that if they really didn't care about PvP.I just don't believe that ZOS cares about pvp at all.
Pvp content is not what you need at the moment, pvp players are 10% of the total number of those who play.

So basically ball group vs ball group, NOT what pvp needs right now if true.
Cyrodiil has been ignored for years now, and with New World coming to console, pvp needed something awesome and interesting to keep pvpers in the game imo, scribing was not it and this isn't it either.
PvP absolutely need a way for organized groups to fight each other in a ranked setting, been long overdue. Not saying other areas of PvP need content (because it does). The problem with the current BG format for groups is that the group finder is malfunctioning to absurd levels (and it´s not because a lack of population, but rather a combination of a faulty MMR system who severely limits who you can fight, and a very poorly working group finder), which leads to group queues in BG´s never happening. I could make an entirely different thread about the topic so won´t deep dive into it in a single comment.
But saying we don´t need more ways for organized groups to fight other organized groups is something I strongly disagree on. If anything it would give those groups strong incentives to seek out each other instead of avoiding one another in Cyrodiil (assuming the rewards for placing high on leaderboards are good enough)

Let's say all we get is new battle grounds. No Cyro or IC content. What are your thoughts? IMO highly disappointing!

Also the upcoming Q4 DLC is something new for PvP.
PS: ZOS has also taken all negative attention about PvP and has tried to turn it into a positive. Where if they really didn't care for PvP, they could have just removed PvP altogether to get rid of all the negative attention that aspect gives the game.

ZOS has reduced the cyrodiil population cap to literally 10% of what the cap originally was. Today's cap is 60-80 players/faction. The original cap was 600/faction. ESO was advertised before, during and after release as Cyrodiil PvP being the primary end game activity. So it is mystifying to me why so many log on to ESO then complain that there is PvP in the game and go on to sow discontent in game and on the forums because they don't like PvP. PvP is now and always has been a significant part of ESO.

Though I personally wouldn't mind that. The game seems to have too little of a PvP population left to realistically sustain three different PvP modes at the same time. If the new content is adding a fourth PvP mode, they will be spreading the PvP population even thinner. Not sure if that would be a smart thing.wolfie1.0. wrote: »At this point I am expecting the pvp update be the removal of pvp from the game.
The only good thing would be to make some sort of PvP mode that is mainly for PvE players somehow. Because if ZOS can get PvE players into PvP, that population will skyrocket. And will probably result in more love from ZOS for the PvP in this game.
Worst thing ZOS could do is yet another PvP mode that allows the current PvP players to keep flexing their unmatched PvP-power in just another mode. As that would, like all other existing PvP modes, keep all PvE players out of it. Basically making it dead on arrival.

I miss the days when ZoS was breaking the edge of technology and doing awesome things (think of Cyro when it first launched there was nothing like it. When I saw the combat in PvP my head almost exploded and I couldnt wait to be a part of those epic battles - I haven't had this feeling with ESO in over 7 years. Games like Halo and Gears Of War have had the Infinite Archive style systems for many many many years - all they did is copy it - they are good at that as we have seen them take other artists graphics.
All this to say I wish ZoS would go back more to their roots instead of just these rinse repeat go here do this quest oh pretty new landscape, oh new map after 5 years. Do something drastic - get some courage and flip the script (or just fix the lag in cyro crap I'll take that as a win).

My personal opinion is something along those lines too. More modes won't help. But I also think the new feature will probably be 'PvP' in the sense that players are competing though not necessarily fighting. Maybe a game mode where they race through a dungeon or try to slay more monsters in a given amount of time for a better score than another team doing the same thing. Maybe there will be a way to interact with the other team/person. Maybe there won't.
