Don't get me wrong, I do agree with you. But the quote I was replying to was about ZOS supposedly not caring about PvP, while they are doing MANY things to PvP behind the curtain which we do not directly see. Even though it is not new PvP content technically, they are spending quite a bit of time and resources on PvP. And yes, the new upcoming undeath nerf is them balancing for the sake of PvP yet again, and harming PvE yet again. (Perfect balance can never be achieved, to me spending time on trying to reach perfect balance feels like wasted time and resources. Time and resources ZOS could have spent on new content instead, either PvE or PvP.)Ohw come on... basically every balance update we ever had was/is because of PvP, and ZOS has spent years and many resources trying to fix the Cyrodiil issues. With Morrowind they released battlegrounds. They wouldn't have done all that if they really didn't care about PvP.I just don't believe that ZOS cares about pvp at all.
Also the upcoming Q4 DLC is something new for PvP.
PS: ZOS has also taken all negative attention about PvP and has tried to turn it into a positive. Where if they really didn't care for PvP, they could have just removed PvP altogether to get rid of all the negative attention that aspect gives the game.
I said "new content", not a content rework, as far as I'm concerned those fall under "content reworks" not actual new content. Meanwhile everything else gets actual new content. The last time pvp got something new was 6 years ago in the form of a BG map. What's the PVP equivalent of PVE getting the Lucent Citadel trial? The recent Undeath nerf? Lol that's not even comparable. One of those is a rework and one is new content.
New content would actually be a new way to play, not slightly altering the meta, that's what the balancing patches were for. Don't be disingenuous, pvp doesn't actually get new content.
at least that was my expectation until they introduced the new housing "system" that's not more than a menu with a rating function... from that point on, I didn't expect anything anymore.
Well, ZOS is having the problem where add-ons have already basically added all QoL anyone could ever ask for. Every QoL update ZOS has done, has been met with backlash because of add-ons:Photosniper89 wrote: »2 - Considering their "new system" was just a housing Add on that existed for years... I'd say ZoS has lost their edge. It's clear they have reached the point where creativity is gone and the studio has shifted more into how do we keep making money to sustain what we have.

2. The Housing update was Activity Finder-related, which implies the PvP update will be Battlegrounds-related.
So my guess is we will get a few 100%-reused assets “new maps” being added into Battlegrounds maps (like they always do), and that leaves the only other possible addition as some new ways to queue for BGs such as Team v Team of different sizes. That’s what players have asked from BGs for 7 years after all.
This is the only logical conclusion unless something truly new is added.
But nothing is known yet so who knows! Nothing officially spoken about. I would say that my guesses are pretty spot on though.

My prediction, based on the "much anticipated housing feature" recently released is that the Q4 PvP feature will be a dual finder addition to the group finder menu. Don't expect anything and don't get your hopes up. If the Q4 PvP feature is not cyrodiil related then ZOS is not really doing anything PvP related in the first place.

What was great about the first half of this year for ESO? The grand 10-year Anniversary Event was a grinding RNG style page farm disaster, followed up by a surprise Transmutation Exploit Event disaster, followed up by the smallest chapter we have ever received with Gold Road which in itself has many shortcomings.
Tbh they should just nuke cyro and be done with it. This is coming from someone who still ball groups weekly because of the friends ive made. Thats it.
They cant fix it or else they would have already. The more people realise this and move on the better. Trust me. PVPers in this game are in a toxic relationship with ZOS waiting for the day they change. But they wont.
